The Effect of Performing Leader's Role on Academic Achievement and Satisfaction in Small Group Collaborative Learning in Virtual Reality (가상현실을 활용한 소집단 협력학습에서 팀 구성원으로서의 역할 수행이 학업성취도와 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • To conduct research using small group learning with advanced technology in school, small group collaborative learning was conducted in virtual reality called Second Life for high school history class to verify the effects of the role of group members (leader, group member) in collaborative learning activities in this study. Two classes of the second grade of high school were selected randomly and 20 groups were also randomly assigned, and each group was consisted of three members (1 leader and two group members). Academic achievement and satisfaction with academic activities were used to verify the effect of the role as measurement tools, and collected quantitative data were tested by independent sample t. As a result, it was found that performing the role of leader in collaborative learning activities in virtual reality was effective in promoting enhancing students' academic achievement and increasing satisfaction level. Lastly, utilization and improvement of small group collaborative learning using virtual reality in the field of education were discussed.

  • This research analyzes how operation system and method of barista private certification implemented in Korea influence on the academic satisfaction of coffee work skills and how such system and method has an effect on the economic effectiveness to utilize for the improvement of work performance skills and for job seeking and changing. For this purpose, author conducted a survey to coffee specialists who had obtained barista certification and who have been working in coffee related industry. The result shows that the operation system and method of coffee certification verification system has a partially positive effect on the academic satisfaction of work performance skills and economic effectiveness. The contents of the coffee related certification verification system as well as specialized and reliable systematic operation of such verification system have an influence on the academic satisfaction of work performance skills and have further influence on the economic effectiveness such as seeking or changing jobs. Therefore, the research on the professionalism and reliability of the qualification verification system must be continued.

Implementation of Academic Journal Map based on Electronic Cultural Atlas using Google Maps (구글맵스 전자문화지도 기반의 학술지 지도 구현)

  • With the growing interests in ICT convergence, interdisciplinary researches are still actively discussed and studied today such as cultural atlas DB, electronic cultural atlas. Electronic cultural atlas can show various cultural aspects on the map by using point, line, polygon, and so on. Users can obtain the informations connected to the three values through manipulating theme, spatial and time values. In this regard, text information can be visualized as various ways like point, line, and polygon on the map. This can make the user get information effectively by usability, accessibility and immediacy of the system. In this paper, we implemented academic journal map system based on the electronic cultural atlas using Google Maps. This system supports various journals information services based on electronic cultural atlas and can be used efficiently as a tool for academic trends analysis. Also, it provides academic material through visualization of information based on the map. In detail, it can be utilized as the foundations for research of Humanities and Area Studies.

The Relationship among Professional Self-concept, Academic Self-efficacy and Major Satisfaction in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 전문직 자아개념, 학업적 자기효능감 및 전공만족도 간의 관계)

  • This study was conducted to identify the relationships among professional self-concept, academic self-efficacy and major satisfaction in nursing students. Data were collected from 137 nursing students by means of self reported questionnaires about professional self-concept, academic self-efficacy, and major satisfaction from October 19 to 23, 2017. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. There were significant correlations among professional self-concept, academic self-efficacy, and major satisfaction. Predictor that has an effect on major satisfaction was professional self-concept among nursing students. This factor explains thirty-six percentile of total variances of major satisfaction. This study suggests that professional self-concept is positively influenced on major satisfaction. To enhance major satisfaction for nursing students, it is necessary to develop specific course or training program in curriculum for increasing professional self-concept.

The Effects of Engineering Tools on Students' Math Academic Achievement and Math Learning Attitude in Middle School Mathematics Geometrical Unit (중학교 수학 기하 단원에서 공학적 도구 활용이 학생들의 수학 학업 성취도와 수학 학습 태도에 미치는 효과)

  • This study was conducted to analyze the effects of mathematics classes using engineering tools on students' mathematics academic achievement and mathematics learning attitude, focusing on the basic figure and drawing sections of the first grade of middle school. Eighty students of first-grade at H Middle School in South Gyeongsang province were divided into two groups, taking a total of six weeks of classes using engineering tools(Algeomath) and traditional tools, and covariate analysis(ANCOVA) was used to analyze students' mathematics academic achievements and changes in mathematical learning attitude. The analysis found that classes using engineering tools were effective in students' mathematics academic achievements and attitude of learning math. Based on the results of the study, the necessity of utilizing various engineering tools in the future secondary school math class and the prospect and implications of the classes were discussed.

The Effects of Motivation Improvement Program for Underachieved Students (학습부진 대학생을 위한 학습동기 향상 프로그램의 효과 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to validate the effectiveness of academic motivation improvement program for underachieved students. Participants in the program consisted of 14 sophomores and senior. They were randomly assigned to either the experimental group(n=7) or the control group(n=7). To analysis the effectivness, matched pair t-test and independent t-test. The programs offered 6times. The results are follows. First, for the experimental group that took part in motivation improvement program, there was a increase in self-esteem. But the improvement was not significant. Second, for the experimental group that took part in motivation improvement program, there was a significant decrease in academic amotivation. Third, the experimental group showed a more significant decrease in academic amotivation. Finally, the significance and limitations of this study and suggestions for future research were presented.

  • This study was a descriptive research study using structured questionnaires. It was identified as t-test and ANOVA to confirm SNS usage time, interpersonal relationship, body image, and academic achievement to 144 college students. Duncan's multiple test Respectively. Pearson's Correlation Coefficients were used to determine the correlation between interpersonal, body image, and academic achievement according to SNS use time. Of the 144 subjects, 55 (38.2%) were male and 89 (61.8%) were female, and 2.2 hours for female and 1.9 hours for male. (P <.014), but there was no significant correlation between body image and academic achievement, although there was a positive correlation between intimacy and high level among sub-factors. There was a positive correlation between interpersonal and body image (p <.003).

Development of Science Technology Information Service using Citation Information Data (인용정보 데이터를 활용한 과학기술 학술정보서비스 개발)

  • The citation information of academic resources contains the knowledge flow from previous research, so it is possible to connect fragmented research in relational aspects. The citation information can grasp the overall flow of research, so it can promote convergence research such as developing existing research or deriving related fields. Therefore, in this study, the citation information of academic literature, which was previously provided at the level of simple disclosure, was reconstructed based on the citation relationship. Through this, backward and forward citation analysis were conducted based on time series, and the research flow was analyzed by setting the citation stage. Finally, we developed an academic information service that visualizes the main research contents of backward and forward citation based on time series. This accesses academic resources through the meaning contained in the citation information.

Analysis of the Difference on Elementary Students' School Adaptation and Academic Performance by Dependence on Smart Devices

  • The purpose of this study is to find methods to prevent and improve smart device over-dependence problems by analyzing differences in school life adaptation and academic performance according to children's dependence on smart devices. For this, the data of fifth grade elementary school students in the 12th year were extracted and utilized from Panel Survey of Korean Children. The data were analyzed using non-hierarchical cluster(K-means) analysis, T-test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffé tests. The results of this study are as follows. First, It has been shown that dependence on smart devices, school adaptation and academic performance have a negative correlation. Second, students in potential and high-risk groups who are highly dependent on smart devices have significantly lower school adaptation compared to those in the safety group. Third, high-risk students showed significantly lower academic performance compared to those in the potential risk group and general group. Based on these findings, it was suggested that for elementary school students who rely on smart devices, various learning support and national efforts such as counseling for school life adaptation are needed.

An Effects of Smart Learning Math Class on Academic Achievement, Mathematical Interest, and Attitude (스마트러닝 수학 수업이 학업성취도, 수학적 흥미, 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • Since Covid-19, many educational institutions no longer view online learning as an additional material, but use it as their main learning tool. In this study, we tried to summarize the definition of smart learning and examined how smart learning math classes affect academic achievement, mathematical interest, and attitudes. We manipulate groups that conducted smart learning and groups that conducted face-to-face learning, and compare academic performance, mathematical interest, and attitudes after six weeks of learning. As a result, we found that the smart learning group had a large values in all three factors compared to the face-to-face learning group. We also found moderating effect. Students with lower grades largely improved their academic achievement scores as the difference in attitude changes through smart learning compared to those with higher grades.
