하이패션에 나타난 패션구두의 조형성 (A Study on the Formativeness of the Fashion Shoes in High Fashion)

  • This study aims at analyzing the formativeness of women fashion shoes shown in the high fashion since 2000 along with the necessity of study for such purposes. Fashion shoes designed for the perfection of high fashion have been positioned as an important item to increase the value of fashion. Subsequently, three formative images through the research method under the literature study could be analyzed as follows. First, the Fetishism image appeared from 18th century and the shoe heel has the erotic internal beauty while attracting the erotic nature from the perspective of 'feet confinement'. The high heel came to have an absolute relationship with the feminine beauty, and the feet and shoes are accepted for the erotic symbol regardless of anyone in the East or West. Second, the fashion shoes in the Maximalism image to pursue for the dream and excitement at the same time have been shown at the same time by using various ornaments in an exaggerated manner for the use of ornaments to clothes through designs by shoe designers. Third, the Aristocratism image in the fashion shoes was remarkably highlighted with the use of materials from processing natural materials with the best quality, which was expressed in an exotic manner with roughness and comfort despite the nature of refinement balanced with the simple reactionary tendency and technical senses of handicrafts. It can be perceived that the inner emotions of human beings are expressed by intentionally dismantling the functions of shoes in terms of functionality even in the fashion shoes in completing the ideal images after which are pursued by people.

Toxicity of Methylcyclohexane and Its Effect on the Reproductive System in SD Rats

  • Objectives: There is limited data regarding the toxicity of methylcyclohexane, despite its wide use in rubber adhesives, paint diluents, and cleansing agents. This study aimed to verify the toxicity and influence on the reproductive system of methylcyclohexane after its repeated injection in Sprague Dawley (SD) rats. Methods: Methylcyclohexane was injected subcutaneously into male and female SD rats once a day, five times a week, for 13 weeks at different doses (0, 10, 100, and 1,000 mg/kg/day) for each group. The toxicity of testing material was verified by observing the change in body and organ weight, hematological change, pathological findings, and effect on the reproductive system at each different concentration. Results: In the 1,000 mg/kg/day group, there were cases of animal deaths. In animals that survived, hematological changes, including a decrease in the red blood cell count, were observed. A considerable weight gain or loss and pathological abnormalities in the liver, kidney, and other organs were found. However, the 10 and 100 mg/kg/day groups did not cause deaths or other specific abnormalities. In terms of reproductive toxicity, there were changes in hormone levels, including a significant decrease in hormones such as estradiol and progesterone (p < 0.001) in male animals. Menstrual cycle change for female animals did not show concentration dependency. Conclusion: When injected repeatedly for 13 weeks, methylcyclohexane proved to be toxic for the liver, heart, and kidney at a high dose. The absolute toxic dose was 1,000 mg/kg/day, while the no observed adverse effect level was less than 100 mg/kg/day. The substance exerted little influence on the reproductive system.

소득 계층별 의료비 부담의 추이와 정책과제 (Changes in financial burden of health expenditures by income level)

  • Although the universal health insurance, National Health Insurance (NHI), have improved access to health care and financial burden of health care costs for Koreans, limited coverage of the NHI leads to high out-of-pocket payment for health care. This study examines financial burden of household health expenditures by income level. Data from the Urban Household Expenditure Survey from 1985 through 2005 is analyzed and household expenditure is used as a proxy measure for income. Health expenditures include spending for inpatient care, ambulatory care and pharmaceuticals. If a household spends health expenditure above 40% of household consumption except for foods, that is defined as catastrophic health expenditure. Access to health care for the lowest income group had been improved for two decades relative to other income groups as well as in absolute term. However, both financial burden of health expenditures and the proportion of households that experienced catastrophic health expenditure had been increased in the lowest income group. Study findings have several policy implications. First, in terms of financial burden of health expenditures. the differences among income groups decreased until 2000 but it was worsen in 2005. This suggests that recent policies for extending NHI coverage are not enough to improve the disparity by income level. Second, a differential catastrophic coverage by income level would be an effective strategy that relieves financial burden for low income group. Third, since the catastrophic coverage is applied to only covered services by the NHI, additional strategy for uncovered services should be considered.

3-로브 베어링으로 지지된 중형 고속 터보차저 로터의 선형 및 비선형 동적 안정성 특성 규명 (Identification of Linear and Nonlinear Dynamic Stability Characteristics of a Medium-size High-speed Turbocharger Rotor Supported by 3-lobe Bearings)

  • In this study linear and nonlinear dynamic stability characteristics of a medium-size high-speed turbocharger, whose rotor is supported by two 3-lobe journal bearings, are analyzed to evaluate and identify the effects of its bearing design variables. The rotor has the rated speed of 40,500 rpm and maximum continuous speed of 45,000 rpm. At first, utilizing the linear stability analysis method, bearing designs of yielding stable or unstable LogDecs as small as possible are searched by manipulating with machined bearing clearances and preloads. As next, utilizing the nonlinear analysis method, limit cycles of the rotor responses at the rated and maximum continuous speeds are simulated to check their acceptances. Results have shown that for the turbocharger rotor-bearing system considered, the 3-lobe journal bearing design with a smaller machined clearance and a larger preload are preferred for the stable rotor responses. More importantly, since there exists a good correlation between the linear and nonlinear stability analysis results, it is concluded that firstly the linear stability analysis method may be applied to screen quickly the ranges of bearing designs for stable or least unstable solutions and then, lastly the nonlinear stability analysis method may be deployed to check an absolute motion stability in terms of the limit cycle.

Perception and production of Korean and English stops by bilinguals with extensive experience residing in the U.S.: Individual patterns

  • This study aimed to examine how Korean-English bilinguals make use of VOT and F0 cues in perception and production of Korean (lenis vs. aspirated) and English (voiced vs. voiceless) stops. It was explored whether bilinguals with extensive experience living in the U.S. exhibit native-like or interactive patterns in the cue use for both languages. Participants produced monosyllabic word-initial stops within a carrier sentence in each language, and performed forced-choice identification tasks with synthesized stimuli varying in 7 VOT steps and 7 F0 steps with base tokens of /$t^han$/ for Korean and /$t{\ae}n$/ for English. Listeners were required to select either /tan/ or /$t^han$/ for Korean and either /$d{\ae}n$/ or /$t{\ae}n$/ for English. The results from binary logistic regression analyses for each listener indicated that all bilinguals placed greater weight on F0 than VOT when distinguishing between the Korean lenis and aspirated stops, and greater weight on VOT than F0 in distinguishing between the English voiced and voiceless stops. In terms of production, all participants showed remarkably overlapping ranges in the VOT dimension and separating ranges in the F0 dimension for the stop contrast of Korean, while forming overlapping ranges in the F0 dimension and separating ranges in the VOT dimension for the stop contrast of English. These results indicate that the bilinguals with extensive exposure to L2 manage the stop systems of the two languages independently, both in perception and production, employing the opposite cue use for stops in the two languages. It was also found that the absolute beta-coefficient values of the perceptual cues for Korean stops were generally smaller than those for English and those reported in a previous study as for later bilinguals, which may have resulted from Korean not being their dominant language.

On the prediction of unconfined compressive strength of silty soil stabilized with bottom ash, jute and steel fibers via artificial intelligence

  • The determination of the mixture parameters of stabilization has become a great concern in geotechnical applications. This paper presents an effort about the application of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques including radial basis neural network (RBNN), multi-layer perceptrons (MLP), generalized regression neural network (GRNN) and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) in order to predict the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of silty soil stabilized with bottom ash (BA), jute fiber (JF) and steel fiber (SF) under different freeze-thaw cycles (FTC). The dosages of the stabilizers and number of freeze-thaw cycles were employed as input (predictor) variables and the UCS values as output variable. For understanding the dominant parameter of the predictor variables on the UCS of stabilized soil, a sensitivity analysis has also been performed. The performance measures of root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE) and determination coefficient ($R^2$) were used for the evaluations of the prediction accuracy and applicability of the employed models. The results indicate that the predictions due to all AI techniques employed are significantly correlated with the measured UCS ($p{\leq}0.05$). They also perform better predictions than nonlinear regression (NLR) in terms of the performance measures. It is found from the model performances that RBNN approach within AI techniques yields the highest satisfactory results (RMSE = 55.4 kPa, MAE = 45.1 kPa, and $R^2=0.988$). The sensitivity analysis demonstrates that the JF inclusion within the input predictors is the most effective parameter on the UCS responses, followed by FTC.

수리적 모델링을 통한 강의실 배정문제 해법에 관한 연구 (Mathematical modeling approach for classroom assignment problem)

  • 최근 한국의 교육인구가 급격히 감소함에 따라 대학 환경에 많은 변화가 일어나고 있다. 특히 지역사회에 연계한 전문대학의 경우 다양한 교육의 변화, 즉 기존의 일률적인 2년제 학제에서 3년제로의 학제전환, 일학습병행제를 통한 근로자 학위 수여, 산업체 근로자 야간 위탁교육 등의 실시를 통해 위기에 대응하고 있다. 하지만 이러한 교육대상 및 내용의 변화는 한정된 강의실을 적절히 전공과목에 배정해야 하는 새로운 형태의 강의실 배정문제를 일으키고 있다. 본 논문에서는 강의실 배정을 위해 준수해야 하는 제약을 반드시 준수해야 하는 절대 제약과 가능한 준수 해야 하는 상대제약으로 구분하고, 이를 수리적으로 모델링 하여 최적화 소프트웨어를 통해 최적의 강의실 배정을 하였다. 절대제약에는 한 강의실에 2개 교반 이상 배정이 되면 안 되는 등과 같은 물리적인 제약들이며, 상대제약은 교수의 편의성을 고려한 강의 시수 배정 등과 같은 논리적인 제약이다. 결과는 만족스러웠으며 기존의 사람을 통한 강의실 배정보다 여러 가지 지표면에서(강의실 활용률과 교수 만족도) 월등한 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

협동적 필터링과 SOM 신경망을 결합한 추천시스템 모델 (A Recommender System Model Combining Collaborative filtering and SOM Neural Networks)

  • 추천시스템은 사용자가 제공한 선호, 관심, 구매경험과 같은 정보를 근거로 하여 다른 사용자에게 가장 알맞은 정보를 제공하는 일련의 가치교환 과정인 개인화를 가능하게 하는 시스템으로 고객의 선호도를 정확히 분석하고, 정제하여 정확한 예측력으로 고객이 원하는 가장 적절한 상품을 추천 해줄 수 있어야 한다. 대부분의 추천시스템들이 협동적 필터링 기법을 적용하고 있어 본 논문에서는 협동적 필터링 기법의 연산수행 량을 개선한 새로운 결합 모델인 SOM(Self-Organizing Map) 신경망 회로와 결합한 추천시스템을 제안하였다. 먼저, 사용자 그룹을 인구통계학적인 특징으로 세그먼트하고 SOM 신경망회로를 이용하여 item 특징에 대한 선호도를 입력 값으로 학습하여 클러스터를 생성하였다. 임의의 사용자에 대한 추천은 선호도가 유사한 클러스터를 결정하여 협동적 필터링 기법을 적용하였으며, 기존의 협동적 필터링 기법의 연산 수행량과 비교 분석하였다. 또한 영화를 대상으로 한 실험을 통하여 추천효율이 향상되었음을 나타내었다.

플로어 마크를 이용한 차량용 실내 정밀 측위 기술 (Indoor Precise Positioning Technology for Vehicles Using Floor Marks)

  • 실내에서 무용지물이 되는 GPS 의 한계로 다양한 실내 측위 기술에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있으나 대부분 사설 무선 네트워크 기반의 실내 측위 방법들로 고가의 설치 및 유지보수 비용, 비실시간성, 그리고 낮은 정확도 때문에 상용화가 어려운 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 기존에 증강현실에 사용되던 마크 인식 알고리즘을 최초로 차량용 실내 측위분야에 적용하였다. 지면에 플로어 마크를 설치하고 마크의 투영 변환 및 정보 디코딩을 통해 마크 내부의 정보(절대 좌표)를 인식하고 기하학적 분석을 통해 차량이 마크로부터 떨어진 정밀한 위치와 접근 방향(상대 좌표)를 인지할 수 있도록 하였다. 실험 결과 5m 단위로 마크를 설치했을 때 약 30 cm 이내의 오차만 발생하였고, 20km/h 의 속도에서 초당 20 프레임의 이미지 중 43.2% 의 마크 인식률을 보여 충분히 상용화 가치가 있음을 확인하였다.

휴양 적합성에 영향을 미치는 자연휴양림의 자원특성 (Resource Characteristics Affecting Recreation Suitability of Natural Recreation Forest)

  • The purpose of this research is to examine resource characteristics affecting the overall recreation suitability of natural recreation forest. On the basis of resource-based approach, we had constructed a conceptual framework for this research and found one dependent variable of the overall recreation suitability and eight independent variables, representing characteristics of recreation resource. After questionnaire surveying of 690 visitors from 10 among 72 natural recreation forests in Korea. We have analyzed the data using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression method. We have found that 1) physical factor of recreation resources turned out to be statistically insignificant and the direction of relationship between independent variable and dependent variable is the same as that of dependent variable, 2) noise, sound and smell turned out to be the most important variable in terms of magnitude of independent variable and wild life turned out to be the next important variable, and 3) noise, sound and smell turned out to have aboutn 3.3 times greater thant that of landscape, judging from the absolute value of standardized regression coefficient. The research findings can be used for planning and designing of natural recreation forests based on recreation suitability of forest resources, and will provide pertinent guidelines for management of recreation resources of natural recreation forests. The approach and method of evaluating recreation suitability employed in this research provide us valid and reliable results and will be highly useful in other resource-based recreation development. We suggest that the differences in recreation suitability between private and public recreation forests and the relationship between user-satisfaction and recreation suitability of natural recreation forests must be examined in the future research.
