Background: The lingual nerve plays an important role in multiple functions, including gustatory sensation and contact sensitivity and thermosensitivity. Misdiagnosed conservative treatments for serious lingual nerve (LN) injuries can induce the patient to serious mental disability. After continuous observation and critical diagnosis of the injury, in cases involving significant disruption of lingual nerve function, microneurosurgical reconstruction of the nerve is recommended. Direct anastomosis of the torn nerve ends without tension is the recommended approach. However, in cases that present significant gaps between the injured nerve ends, nerve grafts or conduits (tubes of various materials) are employed. Recently, various reconstruction materials for peripheral nerves were commercially offered especially in the USA, but the best method and material is still unclear in the world. There currently exists no conventional protocol for managing LN neurosensory deficiency in regard to optimal methods and the timing for surgical repair. In Japan, the allograft collagen nerve for peripheral nerves reconstruction was permitted in 2017, and we tried to use this allograft nerve and got a recommendable result. Case presentation: This report is a long-term abandoned torn LN reconstructed with allograft nerve induced by the lower third molar extraction. Conclusions: In early sick period, with the exact diagnosis, the LN disturbance should be managed. In a serious condition, the reconstruction with allograft nerve is one of the recommendable methods.

The combination therapy of pegylated interferon and ribavirin is the mainstay of treatment for chronic hepatitis C patients. Anti-viral therapy is commonly associated with side effects such as headache, fever, myalgia, and arthralgia. However, anti-viral therapy can continue because these side effects are mostly mild and can be improved with supportive management. Anti-viral therapy should be stopped promptly if serious side effects, such as interstitial pneumonitis or hemolytic anemia occur, although those serious side effects are rare. There were a few case reports of interferon-related interstitial pneumonitis worldwide. In Korea, one atypical case report of interstitial pneumonitis has been reported, which followed the combination therapy of interferon-alpha and ribavirin in a patient with chronic hepatitis C. We present a case of interstitial pneumonitis and pancytopenia following the combination therapy of pegylated interferon and ribavirin in a patient with chronic hepatitis C.

Since year 2001 to the present time, the aircraft accidents and serious incidents in our country have surpassed 150 occurrences. The Boeing has published the statistical summary of commercial jet airplane accidents annually for the past 10 years on the basis of the occurrence categories defined by the CICTT(CAST/ICAO Common Taxonomy Team), and the number of occurrences is in order of loss of control(LOC-I), controlled flight into terrain(CFIT) and runway excursion (RE). Like the NTSB and the EASA, when fatal and non-fatal accidents are aggregated, though fatality rate is low, abnormal runway contact(ARC), system/component failure(SCF-PP/NP), ground handling(RAMP) rank high in the CICTT occurrence categories. With the less occurrence frequency, it is difficult to statistically analyze the aircraft accidents in our country, thus customarily the accidents and the serious incidents on aggregate are consolidated, and the statistical analysis is performed. This study categorizes the accidents and serious incidents to the domestic transportation aircraft in the past 10 years according to the CICTT occurrence categories, that is compared with foreign practices, and the implications have been discussed. From years 2001 through 2010, the accidents to the domestic transportation aircraft occurred in order of system failure(SCF-NP), ARC and power plant failure(SCF-PP), and when the accidents and the serious incidents are consolidated and analyzed, it is verified that a distribution appears similar to the European accident occurrence categories defined from 300 accident occurrence data.

Various types of games have been published in a smart phone game market. However, there are little serious simulation games among them. In this study, parking simulation game has been developed and published on the Apple app store and Android market, to analyze the usability and prospects of the smart phone based serious simulation game. Developed game was designed to give users realistic simulation experience with immersion in the smart phone environment. In case of Apple app store, more than 300 thousands download have been recorded. This means serious simulation games have much more potential for commercial value, even though there are constrains with small display and user interface.

The generators of a small size below 100Kw are often used as power suppliers for emergency only in most domestic telecommunication companies. Serious twisted waves occur due to the inflow of harmonies from the generator into a S-type rectifier. And the increasing by stages of load upon the rectifier end up a stoppage of power supply during the serious hunting, which makes it difficult to supply power securely on the other part as well as that of communications. In case of long time of power failure the generators of a small size will be essential because the battery for emergency has a limit in capacity. Therefore it is necessary to solve the problems concerning the generators. This study is focused on the identifying and solving the problem including use of SCR elements connected to the generators.

This paper deals with the study on repair case of journal shaft and bearing damage in 25MW industrial gas turbine caused by sudden blackout, operation mistake, and logic abnormal, etc. When a serious accident such as journal and bearing damage in a gas turbine occurs, the domestic local companies having the gas turbine are dependent on manufacturer for all maintenance and repair schedule until now. This case study shows that the damaged gas turbine is normally re-operated itself in domestic by establishing repair schedule in a short period of time, repairing damage journal shaft and tilting pad bearings, and performing rotating test for a reliability check. This paper can be regarded as the important case study of emergency test run experience of the refurbished 25MW gas turbine rotor.

This study identified domestic and foreign golf clothing norms and extended recognition and attitude on golf clothing norms expressed in a golf wear style for golfer groups in their 20s-30s. Domestic golf clothing norms were derived from a theoretical research and case study; subsequently, golfers in their 20s-30s were classified into 4 groups. In-depth interviews were conducted using a serious leisure concept to analyze attitudes and stylistic expressions. Domestic golf clothing norms derived from stipulated and implicit norms varied as a type and situation of a golf course, gender of the golfer, and domestic golfers in their 20s-30s perceived such a point. For golfers in their 20s-30s, attitudes on golf clothing norms and their stylistic expressions showed differences according to gender and leisure type. As for gender characteristics, female golfers focused on 'look prettier' in stylistic expressions through experiences with a double-standard clothing norm; however, male golfers showed strict application and observance of a clothing norm in stylistic expressions compared to female golfers. However, male golfer groups in their 20s-30s as 'casual leisure participants' and those as 'serious leisure participants' showed differences becuase the former showed a tendency to observe clothing norms from other viewpoints and evaluations and the latter showed off their abilities and careers as a means of distinction. As for characteristic of stylistic expressions according to a leisure type, golfers in their 20s-30s showed distinction as serious leisure participants through forming new and independent clothing norms. Research findings are expected to provide an opportunity to reconsidering the influence of clothing norms in young people who have a strong tendency to express clothing style as a means to pursue individuality and taste.

Penetrating cerebral injuries caused by foreign bodies occur rarely due to the substantial mechanical protection offered by the skull. Throughout most of history, the brain, residing in a "closed box" of bone, has not been vulnerable to external aggression. Recently, we encountered a serious penetrating craniocerebral injury caused by a nail gun. Total excision of the offending nail via emergency craniotomy was performed, but the patient's neurologic status was not improved in spite of aggressive rehabilitative treatment. Here, we report on this troublesome case in light of a review of the relevant literature.

The failures in the power plant can lead to a dangerous situation according to the demand and supply of the electric power. The failure times of the domestic plant happens very often, and it has been reported as a significant loss by the power sales. Therefore, the power plant is demanded to maintain very well in order to produce a high quality of power. The rate of failures by the electricity facility is filled with 40[%] among the trouble in the failures of the power plant. The failures of power plant can cause serious accidents, magnificent losses, and chaos in our society. So, we require a significant plan to reduce such a serious problem. In this paper, I analysis the failure case of power converter in power plant, and I offer the better solution to be able to prevent the failures from power plant.

Tumor lysis syndrome is a serious complication of malignancy, resulting from the massive and rapid release of cellular components into the blood. Generally, it occurs after initiation of chemotherapy. The onset of spontaneous tumor lysis syndrome (STLS) before anti-cancer treatment is rare and occurs mostly in Burkitt lymphoma and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. There are only a few case reports in children. Here, we report a case of STLS secondary to T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), which presented with urinary stone and subsequent acute kidney injury with severe hyperuricemia. Occult malignancy should be considered in case of unexplained acute kidney injury with extreme hyperuricemia.
