  • In this paper, a diffusive predator-prey system with Beddington DeAngelis functional response and the modified Leslie-Gower type predator dynamics when a prey population is infected is considered. The predator is assumed to predate both the susceptible prey and infected prey following the Beddington-DeAngelis functional response and Holling type II functional response, respectively. The predator follows the modified Leslie-Gower predator dynamics. Both the prey, susceptible and infected, and predator are assumed to be distributed in-homogeneous in space. A reaction-diffusion equation with Neumann boundary conditions is considered to capture the dynamics of the prey and predator population. The global attractor and persistence properties of the system are studied. The priori estimates of the non-constant positive steady state of the system are obtained. The existence of non-constant positive steady state of the system is investigated by the use of Leray-Schauder Theorem. The existence of non-constant positive steady state of the system, with large diffusivity, guarantees for the occurrence of interesting Turing patterns.

The major finding are as follow: 1) The level of the time management of employed wives was slightly high. 2) The dominant factor in time management behavior was goal setting and planning$.$priori-ting 3) The time management behavior was low related to the time use. A negative relationship was found between time management behavior and psysiological time employed time psysical housework time and passive leisure time while a positive relationship was found managerial housework time and active leisure time 4) A employed wife with higher work status education and income level efficiently managed time Education and extend family type turned out facilitating factors the more employed time was found constraint factor in time management.

  • In this work we propose a mixed finite volume method for the Signorini problem which are based on the idea of Keller's finite volume box method. The triangulation may consist of both triangles and quadrilaterals. We choose the first-order nonconforming space for the scalar approximation and the lowest-order Raviart-Thomas vector space for the vector approximation. It will be shown that our mixed finite volume method is equivalent to the standard nonconforming finite element method for the scalar variable with a slightly modified right-hand side, which are crucially used in a priori error analysis.

  • This letter proposes a non-coherent blind time-of-arrival (TOA) estimation scheme for impulse radio ultra-wideband systems. The TOA estimation is performed in two consecutive phases: the Rayleigh-quotient theorem-based coarse-signal acquisition (CSA) and the iterative-threshold-test-based fine time estimation (FTE). The proposed scheme serves in a blind manner without demanding any a priori knowledge of the channel and the noise. Analysis and simulations demonstrate that the proposed scheme significantly increases the signal detection probability in CSA and ameliorates the TOA estimation accuracy in FTE.

  • In this study we produced 1-dimensional p wave velocity structure of the crust using 449 P arrivals of 35 stations and we analysed hypocenters of the southeastern Korean peninsula area. A initial velocity model was selected from the priori studies and 30 different initial models were generated using random number generation from it. Using the veriest program 30 different velocity structures were calculated and the result show that velocities are 5.8 - 6.4 km/sec within 6 - 16 km depth and 7 $\pm$ 0.2 km/sec within 20 - 30 km with resonable resolution. Hypocenters were relocated by using resulted 1-dimensional velocity model as a initial model. Recalculated hypocenters'depth are shallower than initial data and epicenters show a little better lineality around study area but more much earthquake information are needed fur the determination of relation between epicenter distribution and geological tectonic structures.

  • Based on an expanded mixed finite element method, we consider the semidiscrete approximations of the solution u of the quasilinear pseudo-parabolic equation defined on ${\Omega}{\subset}R^d$, $1{\leq}d{\leq}3$. We construct the semidiscrete approximations of ${\nabla}u$ and $a(u){\nabla}u+b(u){\nabla}u_t$ as well as u and prove the existence of the semidiscrete approximations. And also we prove the optimal convergence of ${\nabla}u$ and $a(u){\nabla}u+b(u){\nabla}u_t$ as well as u in $L^2$ normed space.

  • Switched Reluctance motors(SRM) attract much attention in motor because they are reliable and inexpensive. With advance in power electronics and high-speed processors the performance of SRM has been enhanced greatly. But they require rotor position information to operate, In many systems rotor position sensors are undesirable and have disadvantages. To overcome the disadvantages include by position sensors a number of sensorless methods for SRM's have been proposed by researchers. This paper describes a method for indirect sensing of rotor position in SRM's pulsewidth modulation voltage control. The method required no priori knowledge of motor parameters excepts for the number of stator and rotor poles. The detection method uses the change of the derivative of the phase current to detect the position.

  • This paper presents a new saliency map which is constructed by providing dynamic weights on individual features in an input image to search ROI(Region Of Interest) or FOA(Focus Of Attention). To construct a saliency map on there is no a priori information, three feature-maps are constructed first which emphasize orientation, color, and intensity of individual pixels, respectively. From feature-maps, conspicuity maps are generated by using the It's algorithm and their information quantities are measured in terms of entropy. Final saliency map is constructed by summing the conspicuity maps weighted with their individual entropies. The prominency of the proposed algorithm has been proved by showing that the ROIs detected by the proposed algorithm in ten different images are similar with those selected by one-hundred person's naked eyes.

  • We present an accurate and efficient numerical method for solving the Black-Scholes equation. The method uses an adaptive grid technique which is based on a far-field boundary position and the Peclet condition. We present the algorithm for the automatic adaptive grid generation: First, we determine a priori suitable far-field boundary location using the mathematical model parameters. Second, generate the uniform fine grid around the non-smooth point of the payoff and a non-uniform grid in the remaining regions. Numerical tests are presented to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method. The results show that the computational time is reduced substantially with the accuracy being maintained.

  • In order to ensure the structural dynamic stability of moving liquid-storage containers, the flow motion of interior liquid should be appropriately suppressed by means of mechanical devices such as the disc-type elastic baffle. In practice, the design of a suitable baffle requires a priori the parametric dynamic characteristics of storage containers, with respect to the design parameters of baffle, such as the installation location and inner-hole size, the baffle number, and so on. In this paper, we intend to investigate the parametric effect of the baffle parameters on the transient dynamic behavior of a cylindrical fuel-storage tank in an abrupt vertical acceleration motion. For this goal, we employ the ALE (arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian) kinematic description method incorporated with the finite element method.
