We consider the $P_{\lambda}^M-service$ policy for an M/G/1 queueing system in which the workload is monitored randomly at discrete points in time. If the level of the workload exceeds a threshold ${\lambda}$ when it is monitored, then the service rate is increased from 1 to M instantaneously and is kept as M until the workload reaches zero. By using level-crossing arguments, we obtain explicit expressions for the stationary distribution of the workload in the system.

A simple algorithm for discriminating voiced sounds in a speech is proposed. In addition to low-frequency energy and zero-crossing rate (ZCR), both of which have been widely used in the past for identifying voiced sounds, the proposed algorithm incorporates pitch variation to improve the discrimination rate. Based on TIMIT corpus, evaluation result shows an improvement of 13% in the discrimination of voiced phonemes over that of the traditional algorithm using only energy and ZCR.

This paper is a study on the Endpoint Detection for Korean Speech Recognition. In speech signal process, analysis parameter was classification from Zero Crossing Rate(Z.C.R), Log Energy(L.E), Energy in the predictive error(Ep) and fundamental Korean Speech digits, /영/-/구/ are selected as date for the Recognition of Speech. The main goal of this paper is to develop techniques and system for Speech input ot machine. In order to detect the Endpoint, this paper makes choice of Log Energy(L.E) from various parameters analysis, and the Log Energy is very effective parameter in classifying speech and nonspeech segments. The error rate of 1.43% result from the analysis.

In the area of speech vocoder systems, the MBE vocoder allows the high quality and low bit rate. In the MBE parameters detection, the dicision methods of V/UV region proposed until now are dependent highly to the other parameters, fundamental frequency and formant information. In this paper, thus, we propose a new V/UV detection method that uses a zero-crossing rate of flatten harmonices spectrum. This method can reduce the influences of the other parameters for the V/UV regions detection.

본 연구에서는 독립운전 검출기법의 능동적 기법 중 AFDPF 기법을 IEEE Std 929-2000에 제시된 독립운전 시험 조건하에서 위상동기기법 영점검출방식(Zero Crossing PLL)을 적용하여 독립운전 시 chopping fraction에 따른 PCC(Point of Common Coupling)의 주파수 변동 특성을 PSIM을 통하여 분석하였다

This paper decribes a new technique for the generation of excitation sources in LPC system. We synthesize a speech signal using several excitation sources, according to residual signal energy and ZCR(zero Crossing Rate). One of the excitation sources mix the double differentiated glottal wave form source and noise source. As a result, we got improved speech signal than that produced by conventional LPC system.

Reliable frequency estimation is important for active power control, load shedding and generator protection. Thereby, frequency estimation is researched and some algorithms is proposed. This paper analyzed strength and weakness of each algorithms through comparative analysis of frequency estimation. Used algorithms are Zero Crossing detection, Discrete Fourier Transformation, Least Error Squares.

A method fully utilizing multiscale line filter responses is presented to estimate the point spread function(PSF) of a CT scanner and diameters of small tubular structures based on the PSF. The estimation problem is formulated as a least square fitting of a sequence of multiscale responses obtained at each medical axis point to the precomputed multiscale response curve for the ideal line model. The method was validated through phantom experiments and demonstrated through phantom experiments and demonstrated to accurately measure small-diameter structures which are significantly overestimated by conventional methods based on the full width half maximum(FWHM) and zero-crossing edge detection.

The purpose of this paper is to study the conversion of single phase to three phase. In the proceeding of phase conversion, it is very convinence to convert two-phase from single phase using cycloconverter before and then two to three phase by scott connection transformer. There are also systematized zero-crossing, mono vibrator and ring counter circuit for the gate trigger circuits of cycloconverter. The wave forms of three phase by experimental results are analyzed and discussed the relation of phase difference among them.
