This paper presents a digital modeling technique for the distributed parameter system. The basic idea of the proposed technique is to discretize a continuous system with respect to the spatial coordinate using the approximate methods such as bilinear method and backward difference method. The response of the discretized system is analyzed by Laplace transform and Z transform. The computational result of the proposed technique in a torsional shaft is compared with the exact solution and the result of the finite element method.
This paper evaluates the reliability of creep rupture life under service conditions of Alloy 617, which is considered as one of the candidate materials for use in a very high temperature reactor (VHTR) system. A Z-parameter, which represents the deviation of creep rupture data from the master curve, was used for the reliability analysis of the creep rupture data of Alloy 617. A Service-condition Creep Rupture Interference (SCRI) model, which can consider both the scattering of the creep rupture data and the fluctuations of temperature and stress under any service conditions, was also used for evaluating the reliability of creep rupture life. The statistical analysis showed that the scattering of creep rupture data based on Z-parameter was supported by normal distribution. The values of reliability decreased rapidly with increasing amplitudes of temperature and stress fluctuations. The results established that the reliability decreased with an increasing service time.

A fixed Z-R relationship approach, such as the Marshall-Palmer relationship, for an entire year and for different seasons can be problematic in cases where the relationship varies spatially and temporally throughout a region. From this perspective, this study explores the use of long-term radar reflectivity for South Korea to obtain a nationwide calibrated Z-R relationship and the associated uncertainties within a Bayesian regression framework. This study also investigates seasonal differences in the Z-R relationship and their roles in reducing systematic error. Distinct differences in the Z-R parameters in space are identified, and more importantly, an inverse relationship between the parameters is clearly identified with distinct regimes based on the seasons. A spatially structured pattern in the parameters exists, particularly parameter α for the wet season and parameter β for the dry season. A pronounced region of high values during the wet and dry seasons may be partially associated with storm movements in that season. Finally, the radar rainfall estimates through the calibrated Z-R relationship are compared with the existing Z-R relationships for estimating stratiform rainfall and convective rainfall. Overall, the radar rainfall fields based on the proposed modeling procedure are similar to the observed rainfall fields, whereas the radar rainfall fields obtained from the existing Marshall-Palmer Z-R relationship show a systematic underestimation. The obtained Z-R relationships are validated by testing the predictions on unseen radar-gauge pairs in the year 2018, in the context of cross-validation. The cross-validation results are largely similar to those in the calibration process, suggesting that the derived Z-R relationships fit the radar-gauge pairs reasonably well.
A family of sixth-order multiple-root solver have been developed and the special case of weight function is investigated. The dynamical analysis of selected iterative schemes with uniparametric polynomial weight function are studied using Möbius conjugacy map applied to the form ((z - A)(z - B))m and the stability surfaces of the strange fixed points for the conjugacy map are displayed. The numerical results are shown through various parameter spaces.

Parameter tuning methods by Ziegler-Nichols for PID controllers are generally classified into Z-N(1) and Z-N(2). The purpose of this paper is to describe what relations exist between the methods of Z-N(1) and Z-N(2), or how Z-N(1) can be originated from Z-N(2) by analyzing one loop control system composing of P or PI controller and time delay process. In this paper, for the first step to seek mutual relations, the simple formulas of Z-N(2) are transformed into those composing of the same parameters as Z-N(1) which is derived from the analysis of frequency characteristics. Then, the approximation of the actual ultimate frequency is proposed as important premise in the translation between Z-N(1) and (2). Such equalization and approximation brings a simple approximated formula which can explain how Z-N(1) is originated from the Z-N(2) in the form of formula.
The torsion tests in the range of 900~1100$^{\circ}C$ and 5.0X10-2~5.0X100/sec were performed to study the high temperasture deformation behavior kinetics of 304 stainless steels. The flow curves and microstructures exhibited the characteristic of dynamic recrystallization(DRX). The relationship between the critical strain($\varepsilon$c) for the initiation of dynamic recrystallization and the peak strain($\varepsilon$p) could be expressed as $\varepsilon$c=0.73$\varepsilon$p. The dependence of the flow stress on temperature(T) and stain rate($\varepsilon$) was expressed by hyperbolic sine law, $\varepsilon$=2.75X1014 (sinh 0.076$\sigma$)5.26 exp(-379.55kJ/mol). Under the Zener-Hollomon parameter, Z value of 1013 order, it was found that the grain size was 20${\mu}$m. The relationship between the grain size, dDRX and Z parameter was expressed as dDRX =139.48-7.33 log Z.
This study focuses on wave propagation analysis in the curved nanobeam exposed to different thermal loadings based on the Nonlocal Strain Gradient Theory (NSGT). Mechanical properties of the constitutive materials are assumed to be temperature-dependent and functionally graded. For modeling, the governing equations are derived using Hamilton's principle. Using the proposed model, the effects of small-scale, geometrical, and thermo-mechanical parameters on the dynamic behavior of the curved nanobeam are studied. A small-scale parameter, Z, is taken into account that collectively represents the strain gradient and the nonlocal parameters. When Z<1 or Z>1, the phase velocity decreases/increases, and the stiffness-softening/hardening phenomenon occurs in the curved nanobeam. Accordingly, the phase velocity depends more on the strain gradient parameter rather than the nonlocal parameter. As the arc angle increases, more variations in the phase velocity emerge in small wavenumbers. Furthermore, an increase of ∆T causes a decrease in the phase velocity, mostly in the case of uniform temperature rise rather than heat conduction. For verification, the results are compared with those available for the straight nanobeam in the previous studies. It is believed that the findings will be helpful for different applications of curved nanostructures used in nano-devices.
The torsion tests in the range of $550~800^{\circ}C$, $5.0{\times}10^{-3}~5.0{\times}10^0/sec$ were performed to study the effects of strain rate$(\.{\varepsilon})$ and temperature(T) on the hot strength of Cu-Zn alloy. High temperature flow stresses of this alloy increased with increasing $\.{\varepsilon}$ and/or decreasing T, and than the more grain refinement could be obtained. The flow curves exhibited a peak followed by a steady steady state regime as a result of dynamic recrystallization. The hot strength dependence of $\.{\varepsilon}$ and T was described by a hyperbolic sine law, $\.{\varepsilon}=A(sinh0.017{\sigma})^4.81$exp(-216KJ/mol). Hot strength could be reduced at the arbitary condition, $\.{\varepsilon}$ and T, by constitutive parameter Z(Zenner-Hollomon parameter), $Z=A(sinh{\alpha}{\sigma})^n=\.{\varepsilon}$exp(Q/RT).
An accurate extraction technique is developed to determine full euqivalent circuit parameters of Si MOSFETs using 1 set of measured S-parametes without complicated optimization process. This technique is based on the use of anlytic Z-parameters experessions for resistances and inductances and the Y-parameter ones for ntrinsic parameters. This accuracy is proved over the wide range of gate voltage by observing good agreement between measured and fitted Z-parameter equations and frequency-independent response of the extracted intrinsic parameters. Using this technique, gate voltage-dependencies of model parameters are obained in the saturation region and these results show the similar behavior to the short-channel effects expected from the device theory.

In order to investigate the effects of cross-sectional shapes on the sound characteristics of polyester fibers, 10 specimens were woven into a twill structure made of round, hollow, triangular, u-shape, cruciform, and composite cross-sectional (▲/▲ ,()/▲, Y/Y) fibers. Their rustling sounds were recorded, and their sound spectra were obtained from FFT analysis. Physical sound parameters (LPT, ΔL, Δf) and Zwicker's psychoacoustic parameters of the loudness(Z), sharpness(Z), roughness(Z), and fluctuation strength(Z) were calculated from the sound spectra. According to noncircular cross-section fibers, the hollow shaped fiber had the highest value of LPT, ΔL, loudness(Z), and fluctuation strength(Z). The triangular shaped fiber had a lower value of LPT, ΔL, loudness(Z), and roughness(Z) than those of the round shaped fiber. Among composite cross-section fibers, C1(▲/▲) and C3 (Y/Y) had higher values of LPT, ΔL, Δf and loudness(Z) but C2(()/▲) had lower values. Also the LPT, ΔL, sharpness(Z), and roughness(Z) values of different denier were similar to each other, but the Δf and loudness(Z) values increased as the denier increased.
