  • A software development using components reuse is an useful method to reduce the software development cost. But a retrieval method by the keyword and category classifications is difficult to search an exact matching component due to components complexity in component reuse. Therefore, after different existing methods are examined and analyzed, an effective classification and retrieval method using XML specifications and the system architecture of components integrated management based on it are presented. Many discording elements of DTD which is component meta-expression exist in components retrieval. To compensate it, this retrieval method using estimations of precision and concision is effective one to catch considerable matching preference components. This method makes possible to retrieve suitable components having better priority due to searching similar matching components that are difficult in an existing keyword matching method.

  • As diverse web-based geos-spatial services are developed, the values of technologies and standards related to this trend are also emphasized. In this study, a prototype supporting mandatory components in OGC standard catalog service is designed and implemented, linked to PostgreSQL, open source DBMS. As the main features, XML metadata server was built with the helps of XML query functions in PostgreSQL. Given target applications with geo-spatial data sources and contents, this model can be applied, and it can be used for extension in other external web-based service systems or applications, because it supports international standard specifications.

  • Many hospitals tried to exchange their medical information between them. But they could not share efficiently medical information because of their different operating systems and database systems. In this paper, we developed an XML repository(called REPOMI : An XML Repository for Medical Information)based on HL7 that can store XML medical information. REPOMI is implemented by combining EJB components based on RDBMS. By REPOMI, we can manage more easily patient information and share efficiently medical information between hospitals. Therefore, medical informations can be exchanged between hospitals and general hospitals efficiently. As a result, hospitals can offer more efficient diagnosis to patients and it saves time and cost.

  • Circulation of documents and data has two serious problems in this web-based system. The first of the problems is standardization problem which the flowing documents and data are not always standardized. the other is security problem which secret data can be hacked or cracked, and non-authenticated Person can access and change the contents with malicious intent. Therefore two issues come out on the web-based system, the first is how we can standardize the documents and data and the second is how we can assure safe flowing of them. One way of the standardizing methods is Mark-UP language which uses XML which is extended from SGML to redefine and use documents. And to ensure security of flowing documents we adopt digital signature system using public key and private key The focus of this study is to specify procedures for digital signature on the XML base. and to design XML components for the digital signature to assure information security in circulation of documents and data.

  • It is advantageous to use XML in developing user interfaces, since XML is independent from platforms and languages and it is easy to learn and use. The existing XML-based languages do not adopt formal model, and they are developed in ad hoc manner. Moreover, they provide limited facilities to handle user events, and combine user interface components with internal logics. In this paper, we introduce an extended MVP (EMVP) model, which is extended from MVP (Model-View-Presenter), and XUIML, which is a new XML application based on the EMVP to support user interface. XUIML provides useful methods to build user interface, including methods to describe actions on user events, data flows between objects, and internal logics. The XUIML system provides two style editors - text editor and graphic editor. It also provides two code generators. One generates Java source, and the other generate C# code from XUIML document. The XUIML graphic editor allows users to manipulate XML elements directly, and we can gain high productivity with the graphic editor.

  • Since internet and XML has come out, Web Services are regarded as a new paradigm of next generation's IT are becoming a leading technology to integrate the distributed applications on internet using XML based Platforms and distributed computing based on component technologies independent on implementing languages. Nowadays internet is generally used and the use of wireless internet is rapidly rising. The quantities of contents on the web-sites to manage and maintain are getting larger according to these trends and the update cycles are getting shorter It is necessary to solve these Problems that developing the systems which can effectively generate, maintain and manage the contents on the web-sites. In the paper, a system which can integrates wired and wireless services is designed and implemented using the technologies like XML based components, JWSDP, Wireless Server Side Script, WML editor and etc.,

  • In ebXML the choreography of a business process should be modeled by UMM and is finally realized in BPSS. The current UMM and BPSS are developed based on UML 1.4. Recently OMG introduces the UML 2.0, which strengthens the modeling power of activity diagrams and components. If we adopt UML 2.0, the modeling power of UMM is improved but BPSS cannot implement the modeling features. In this paper, we examine the new features of the activity diagram in UML 2.0. We also propose ways to improve the UMM and the BPSS using the new features.

  • Using an exchange standard, we can design an open architecture for the interchange of decision models and data. XML (eXtensible Markup Language) provides a general framework for creating such a standard. Although XML -based model representation languages such as OOSML were proposed, they are partly limited in expression capability, flexibility, generality, etc. This paper proposes a new method for expressing and sharing decision models and data based on XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language), which is a XML language specialized in business reporting. We have developed a XBRL taxonomy for decision models with the concepts and relationships of a representative modeling framework, SM (Structured Modeling). The method allows for expressing data as well as decision models in a consistent and flexible manner. Diverse dependencies between components of SM models can also be affluently expressed.

  • Bioinformatics can beexplained as the science of developing algorithms, applicatiou tools, and computer databases and so on, for the purpose of supporting and enhancing biological research. Bioinformatic information systems (BIS) typically handle large data sets and the amount of the data goes up exponentially. Another impediment to easy extraction and retrieval of genomic data in BIS is the need to access different sites for similar information. Recently. there has been some attempts to integrate bioinformatics data in the World Wide Web (WWW) among the bioinformatics community by the internet computing technology. However, the work to integrate bioinformatics data on a universal platform has some problems because of the lack of standard, terminologies, semantics, and ontologies about bioinformatics. In this paper, an XML-based BIS architecture is proposed as an integrated BIS framework. The XML and related technologies allow the creation of meaningful information tags to exchange data between various databases as a standard format, and to create more simple interfaces. This integrated BIS framework has bioinformatic architectural components which is used in the Corporate Information Factory (CIF) method.

  • The standardized and open information model called common language and information exchange format should be firstly defined for the interoperable power system and two-way information exchange among the components of the power system. The information models and information exchange formats for power facilities and power system applications are being defined in power system area, but the information model and information exchange format for the consumer area are not being yet defined besides of metering information model. An architecture and open standard for the information exchange between energy service provider and consumer are required to provide various value added services through the networking with devices in consumer premise. In this paper, an architecture for the two-way communications between energy service provider and consumer is defined and psXML(power system XML) for the information exchange is designed.
