  • Purpose: This study aimed to examine the mediating effects of clinical nurses' job crafting on organizational effectiveness based on the job demands-resources model proposed by Bakker and Demerouti (2017). Methods: The participants consisted of 393 nurses working in nursing units of a tertiary general hospital located in Cheongju region. The data, collected using questionnaire from August 9 to August 20, 2021, were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 27.0. Results: The goodness-of-fit (GoF) test results on the modified model (χ2 = 2.7, GFI = .94, SRMR = .03, RMSEA = .06, NFI = .92, CFI = .94, TLI = .92, AGFI = .90), indicated that the GoF index satisfied the recommended level. Regarding the effects of each variable on organizational effectiveness, job crafting showed statistically significant direct (β = .48, p < .001), indirect (β = .23, p < .001), and total effects (β = .71, p < .001). Burnout showed statistically significant direct effect (β = - .17, p < .001). Work engagement showed statistically significant direct (β = .41, p < .001) and total effects (β = .41, p < .001). The factors explaining organizational effectiveness were job crafting, burnout, and work engagement, which had an explanatory power of 76.7%. Conclusion: Nurses' job crafting is an important mediating factor for enhancing the organizational effectiveness of nursing organizations. Hospitals should develop job-crafting success cases and related education and training programs as a strategy for enhancing the job crafting of nurses and, consequently organizational effectiveness.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to assess the ergonomic risk factors in beekeeping, and to evaluate the effectiveness of assistive device hive lift. Methods: This study included 30 subjects of beekeeper in Pocheon, Korea. We assessed the ergonomic risk of main task in beekeeping with NLE, OWAS and evaluate the effectiveness of hive lift. We also surveyed prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms among the subjects based on the Korea Working Condition Survey. Results: Moving to different floral origin, internal inspection of beehives, feeding syrup is the most burdensome to musculoskeletal system (NLE LI value=2~3. OWAS action category=4). The prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms (lower and upper extremities) among the subjects was over 80 %. The introduction of assistive devices in the three hazardous tasks has dramatically reduced the risk by removing manual lifting hives (OWAS action category<1). Conclusions: Beekeeping is a heavy workload on the musculoskeletal system because it has a lot of manual lifting task. As a result of applying the hive lift, the burden could be reduced.

  • Workflow Management System (WFMS) is a software system to support an efficient execution, control and management of complex business processes. Since traditional commercial systems mainly focus on automating processes, they don't have methods for enhancing the task performer's efficiency. In this paper, we propose a new method of executing business processes more efficiently in that a whole process is scheduled considering the degree of the participants' workload. The method allows managing the largest constraints among constituent resources of the process. We utilize DBR scheduling techniques to develop the method. We first consider the differences between workflow process models and DBR application models, and then develop the modified drum, buffer and rope. This leads us to develop WF-DBR (WorkFlow-DBR) that can control the proper size of the task performers' work list and arrival rate of process instances. Use of WF-DBR improves the efficiency of the whole process as well as the participants' working condition. We then carry out a set of simulation experiments and compare the effectiveness of our approach with that of scheduling techniques used in existing systems.

  • In this paper, we propose in this paper present a novel locality data allocation policy as COLD(Correlated Locality Data) allocation policy. COLD is defined as a set of data that will be updated together later. By distributing a COLD into a NAND block separately, it can preserve th locality. In addition, by handling multiple COLD simultaneously, it can obtain the parallelism among NAND chips. We perform two experiment to demonstrate the effectiveness of the COLD data allocation policy. First, we implement COLD detector, and then, analyze a well-known workload. And we confirm the amount of COLD found depending on the size of data constituting the COLD. Secondly, we compared the traditional page-level mapping policy and COLD for garbage collection overhead in actual development board Cosmos OpenSSD. Experimental results have shown that COLD data allocation policy is significantly reduces the garbage collection overhead. Also, we confirmed that garbage collection overhead vary depending on the COLD size.

  • In recent years, the Korean Army made use of fork-lifters or conveyors when loading and/or unloading military material in order to prevent accidents and to promote efficiency of military material handling activities. However, in troops smaller thin battalions, manual material handling activities are still committed for many reasons. In this thesis, a brand new loading/unloading device for efficient military material handling or manual workers was developed, and its validation study was conducted through objective assessment based on electromyography, subjective assessment based on Body-Map technique developed by Corlett and Bishop, and finally work performance comparison. The results of EMG analysis showed that muscular workload improved by 24% when using the device compared to manual work without the device, and complain of each body part was remarkably reduced. In addition, remarkable effectiveness enhancement was observed in the work performance. Consequently, it could be concluded that ergonomic devices like one developed in this research should be studied further in the ergonomic sense as well as in the economical sense.

  • It is well known that SaaS(Software as a Service) changeover gives several advantages to organization. One of the advantages is the cost reduction effect of IT resources as well as IT human resources. Another one is the curtailment of software development workload in the field of informatization promotions. Nonetheless, it is hard to find comparison cases regarding the quantitative measurement of the introduction of SaaS before and after. Accordingly, when the Government IDC tries to adopt SaaS, it absolutely needs the empirical study whether SaaS is cost-effectiveness or not. In this study, we focus on variation in the Government administration common tasks, processes and labor costs. Using the Man-Month(MM) estimation methods, We verify that how much TCO(Total Cost of Ownership) is reduced per year.

  • This paper compared the performance with an overview of channel equalization techniques used in high-speed serial transceivers, including the homogeneous architecture and associated components for the GHz interconnect of backplane and cable channels. It also used the MATLAB tool to present system analysis and simulation results for continuous time equivalent structures. In the case of conventional continuous equalization, high frequency deficits occur due to the use of a comparator that is difficult to implement as well as the low speed limit. In this paper, the channel equalization technique based on the power spectrum analysis of clocks was used to compensate for the frequency loss, and the application of the TX+Channel and TX+Equalizer filters enabled the measurement of attenuation and equivalence without comparators. The application of blender and band-pass filters at high speeds also showed significant effectiveness.

  • The data gathering delay and the network lifetime are important indicators to measure the service quality of wireless sensor and actuator networks (WSANs). This study proposes a dynamically cluster head (CH) selection strategy and automatic scheduling scheme of collectors for prolonging the network lifetime and shorting data gathering delay in WSAN. First the monitoring region is equally divided into several subregions and each subregion dynamically selects a sensor node as CH. These can balance the energy consumption of sensor node thereby prolonging the network lifetime. Then a task allocation method based on genetic algorithm is proposed to uniformly assign tasks to actuators. Finally the trajectory of each actuator is optimized by ant colony optimization algorithm. Simulations are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method and the results show that the method performs better to extend network lifetime while also reducing data delay.
