Design of Optimized Ultrasound Clinical Work-Flow; Usability Perspective

  • Purpose Usability is an important factor in our life. This paper presents an approach to design the clinical work-flow for ultrasound system. And, we tried to apply this work-flow in diagnosis ultrasound system. Materials and Methods For user learnability, we follow international standard IEC 60601-1-1 and IEC 62366 which describes usability of medical instrument. User requirement are applied by 10 clinicians who are well aware of usability. We considered user environment and designed clinical work-flow into two types: general use and emergency use. The designed clinical work-flow was evaluated by 10 clinicians and results derived from the evaluation were analyzed. Results We could successfully design optimized clinical workflow of ultrasound system. Conclusion This paper suggests usability testing for optimized ultrasound clinical workflow. Using this clinical work flow, users can enhance their clinical performance and reduce operation time.

  • During a reactor normal operation, a primary coolant was designed to remove the fission reaction heat of the reactor. When one pump is failure and the other pump shall supply the cooling water to cool the reduced power, it is necessary to estimate how much flow will be supplied to cool the reactor. We carried a flow net work analysis for two parallel pumping system as based on the piping net work of the primary cooling system in HANARO. As result, it is estimated that the flow of one pump increased than the rated flow of the pump below the cavitation critical flow.

Estimation of Capacity at Two-Lane Freeway Work Zone Using Traffic Flow Models of Each Vehicle-Type (차종별 교통류 모형을 이용한 편도 2차로 고속도로 공사구간 용량 산정)

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the capacity of two-lane freeway work zone blocking one lane using traffic flow models of each vehicle-type. Firstly, three traffic flow models of three different vehicle-types were developed using the data collected from each at the beginning and the ending point of the work zone. For each model, the maximum flow rate of three vehicle-types were calculated respectively. Maximum flow rate at the work zone was recalculated using passenger car equivalent value and percentage of vehicle-type. Secondly, traffic flow model using passenger car equivalent volume data was developed using the data collected from each at the beginning and the ending point of the work zone. Maximum flow rate for the work zone was calculated along. Two values of maximum flow rates through the work zone were compared and evaluated as the capacity of the work zone. This study found that the maximum flow rate of the work zone at the beginning point was less than that at the ending point because of impedance such as lane changing behaviors before entering the work zone. The capacity of two-lane freeway work zone blocking one lane was estimated 1,800pcphpl.

The Effects of Role Conflicts on the Work-related Flow of Childcare Teachers (어린이집교사의 역할갈등이 일 플로우에 미치는 영향)

  • The present study examined the relationships between work related flow (i.e., absorption, work enjoyment, and intrinsic work motivation) and role conflict causes (i.e., teacher's belief, teaching and interaction with young children, comradeship, relationships with parents, workload, supervision, and social awareness of the job). A canonical correlation analysis was performed on the data from a sample of 154 childcare teachers. The results are as follows (1) there was a reciprocal-causal relationship between teachers' role conflict causes and their work-related flow; (2) canonical function 1 showed that absorption and work enjoyment are strongly associated to a teacher's belief and supervision of conflict causes; and (3) canonical function 2 showed that intrinsic motivation has a relatively strong relationship with workload and supervision of conflict causes. It can be concluded that it is important for childcare teachers to have sufficient job resources to promote their flow at work. Further research is needed for investigation of teacher's flow at various conditions of work.

A Study on the Improving Life-up and Procurement Work Flow for Effectiveness of Resources increase in the Building Construction (건설공사의 자원 효용성 증대를 위한 조달 및 양중 작업흐름 개선에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to present an improved lift-up & procurement work flow for effectiveness of resources increase in building construction. The current lift-up & procurement work flow has some waste factors; complicated information system, connection lack with process and decision-making delay. Therefore the study applied the value stream mapping methodology for improvement of current lift-up & procurement work flow. The main contents of the study are as follows; 1) A problem of current work flow were analyzed through current state mapping(CSM). 2) An improved work flow was suggested through future state mapping(FSM). 3) An improvement effect analysis of information system and lift-up planning The study recommends that continuous improvement of lift-up & procurement work flow and efficient management of information in building construction.

Effect of the yield criterion on the strain rate and plastic work rate intensity factors in axisymmetric flow

  • The main objective of the present paper is to study the effect of the yield criterion on the magnitude of the strain rate and plastic work rate intensity factors in axisymmetric flow of isotropic incompressible rigid perfectly plastic material by means of a problem permitting a closed-form solution. The boundary value problem consisting of the axisymmetric deformation of a plastic tube is solved. The outer surface of the tube contracts. The radius of the inner surface does not change. The material of the tube obeys quite a general yield criterion and its associated flow rule. The maximum friction law is assumed at the inner surface of the tube. Therefore, the velocity field is singular near this surface. In particular, the strain rate and plastic work rate intensity factors are derived from the solution. It is shown that the strain rate intensity factor does not depend on the yield criterion but the plastic work rate intensity factor does.

  • This study deals with analysis of material from in Tube manufacturing line. This line is a multi product flow ship type production line, which consists of 5 steps of work station. Some work stations involve in unnecessary moving activities of workers and much work in-process storage due to the non-systematic material flow with respect to the different lot size production of multi-items. To improve productivity for this line, one alternative is considered such as grouping two work stations by using GT and JIT concepts. Also, feasibility analysis for this alternative is performed using and simulation model built by SIMAN IV simulation language.

  • In the past few years, the printing industry has witness a trend that has become ever more defined: due to the advent of digital technology, the production of short print runs has continued to gain in importance. An important initiative for the support of digital work flow in the manufacturing of printed products is CIP4 consortium. CIP4 stands for "International Cooperation for Integration of Prepress, Press and Post-press, it is an association of around forty international companies, mostly manufacturers of prepress, press and post-press, as well as suppliers and users. In this paper, we studied on the acting application of CIP4 work flow.

  • A flexible flow line(FFL) consists of several groups of identical machines. All work-orders flow along the same path through successive machine groups. Thus, we emphasized the balancing of workloads between machine groups in order to maximize total productivity. On the other hand, many different types of work-orders, in varying batch or lot sizes, are produced simultaneously. The mix of work-orders, their lot sizes, and the sequence in which they are produced affect the amount of workload. However, the work-orders and their lot sizes are prefixed and cannot be changed. Because of these reasons, we have developed an optimal route selection model using heuristic search and Min-Max algorithm for balancing the workload between machine groups in the FFL.
