A Study on SafeNavigation Management of an Aqua-bus In the Channel between Wolmi-do and Yungjong-do (월미도와 영종도 수로간 아쿠아버스 통항안전관리에 관한 연구)

  • In order to reduce the management risks of and secure traffic safety of Aqua-bus which will be operated at the channel of Wolmi do and Yungjong-do for the first time in Korea, we investigate maritime traffic and natural environment around the channel, and analyze the factors of risk involved in her operation. We also propose the countermeasure to secure the safety of navigation in her service including precautionary area, exclusive terminal, operation management, and etc.

  • Eupatilin은 급성위궤양 모델인 HCl-EtOH model에서 0.3mg/kg에서 50% 억제하였으며 10mg/kg에서 95% 최대효과를 나타내었고, indomethacin model에서는 0.8mg/kg에서 50% 억제하였으며, 10mg/kg에서 97% 최대억제효과를 나타내었다. Cyclooxygenase-1의 활성은 1.7, 5.8$\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$에서 prostaglandin E$_2$와 prostacyclin의 생성을 각각 2배 촉진시켰으나, cyclooxygenase-2에 대한 활성에는 영향을 주지 않았다. FMLP로 활성화시킨 호중구에 대한 활성은 0.6$\mu\textrm{g}$/kg에서 50% 억제하여 oxygen free radical 소거활성을 나타내었고, 반면 xanthine oxidase 및 iron-dependant lipid peroxidation 활성에 대해서는 78.8, 26.9$\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$에서50% 억제를 보였다. 5-lipooxygenase 활성은 2.1$\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ 에서 염증매개인자인 leukotriene B$_4$ 생성을 50% 억제하였다. 이상의 결과로부터 애엽추출의 항궤양 효과는 prostaglandin의 생성촉진 및 oxygen free radical 과 leukotriene B4와 같은 공격인자의 생성억제 등의 복합적인 작용에 기인하는 것으로 생각된다.

  • An operating system should be easy to extend and to be customized to accomodate the diverse needs when it is to support multiple personalities. Though microkernel is the best as architecture for such customization, it raises performance issues due to its intrinsic overhead in interprocess communication. In this paper, we present a new !PC mechanism that overcomes the traditional IPC performance lag by providing a direct bridge between processes. The communication overhead is similar to the one of local procedure call, which is the known minimal overhead. Even in its worst case, our scheme is shown to pcrfonn better than the other alternative, the message passing scheme.

Effects of Side Walking Training with Elastic-Band on Gait and Balance of Stroke Patients (탄성밴드를 이용한 측방 보행 훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 보행 및 균형에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of side walking training with an elastic-band on gait and balance ability of stroke patients. Methods: Twenty three patients with stroke participated in the study. Participants were randomly assigned to the side walking with elastic-band group (n=7), the side walking without elastic-band group (n=8), and the walking on the treadmill group (n=8);. 10 m walking test (10MWT), Dynamic Gait Index (DGI), Berg Balance Scale (BBS), and modified Functional Reach Test (mFRT) were performed for evaluatione of pre- and post-intervention in gait and balance ability of participants. Results: Significantly differences in 10 MWT, DGI, BBS, and mFRT were observed between pre- and post-intervention in three groups (p<0.05). Improvement of pre- and post-intervention of mFRT showed significant difference (p<0.05). The highest rate of change was observed in the side walking with elastic-band group and rate of change showed in the order of the side walking without elastic-band group, walking on the treadmill group. Conclusion: This study suggests that side walking training with an elastic-band may help to improve gait and balance ability of stroke patients.

Effects of Aerobic Exercise on Disease Severity and Walking Ability in Patients with Parkinson's Disease

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to explore the effects of aerobic exercise on the severity of disease and walking ability in patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods: Twelve patients with Parkinson's disease participated in the study. Participants were randomly assigned to either an aerobic exercise group (n=6) or a self-exercise group (n=6). All participants underwent treadmill training for 30 minutes. In addition, the experimental group (aerobic exercise group) and control group (self-exercise group) participated in a 30 minutes exercise program. In both groups, exercise was performed five times a week for four weeks. Outcome including disease severity (Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale) and walking ability (10 m walking speed test, 6 minutes walking test, timed up-and-go test) were measured at baseline and after 4-weeks. Results: Significant differences in disease severity and walking ability were observed between the pre- and post-exercise groups (p<0.05). The improvement of disease severity and walking endurance was significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: These findings demonstrate that aerobic exercise is effective at improving disease severity and walking endurance in patients with Parkinson's disease.

  • 한국전력은 765kV 송전선(2,000A/single phase)에 ball sensor를 설치할 계획이다. 우리의 이전연구에서는 다중 Mu-metal 케이스를 설치한 후 여러 조건하에서 센서의 정상동작여부와 차폐효율을 연구하였다. 이번연구에서는 Mu-metal 케이스의 겹 수와 형상에 따른 차폐효율을 연구할 것이다. 차폐효율은 전류가 커짐에 따라 감소하는 것을 보이며, Mu-metal 케이스의 자속경로가 길어짐에 따라 감소하는 것을 알 수 있었다. Ball sensor의 형상에 따른 차이를 고찰하기 위하여 실제 실험 전에 실제 실험과 동일한 조건으로 시뮬레이션툴을 사용하여 모의 하였으며 그에 따른 실험을 수행하였다. 이런 방식으로 실제 실험 전에 관련 실험의 결과를 예측 가능하였다. 이러한 일련의 과정을 통해 이상적인 Mu-metal 케이스의 형상과 겹 수를 찾을 수 있었다.

Effects of rapid thermal annealing on indium-zinc-oxide films (산화인듐아연 박막에 대한 급속 열처리 효과)

  • This work shows the effect of rapid thermal annealing (RTA) on properties of indium-zinc oxide (IZO) thin films. The RTA temperatue was controlled between 300 and $500^{\circ}C$ under the two different ambient conditions such as vacuum and oxygen. Structural, optical, and electrical properties of IZO films were characterized in terms of RTA conditions. XRD and resistivity measurements showed that crystallization for IZO films occurred at an RTA temperature of about $400^{\circ}C$. For the IZO film treated at $500^{\circ}C$ of RTA, the resistivity, carrier concentration, hall mobility, and transmittance were approximately $10^2{\Omega}cm$, $10^{15}cm^{-3}$, $10cm^2/V{\cdot}s$, and 85%, respectively, which would be suitable for its application to the channel layer in transparent thin film transistors.

  • Effects of hydrogen and oxygen additives on structural, optical, and electrical properties of ZnO films were extensively examined. ZnO films were deposited using RF sputtering by varying the gas mixing ratio of $H_2$ and $O_2$. Optical transmittances at visible region, electrical resistivities, and micro-structures of ZnO films were characterized in terms of the kind and amount of additive gases. It was observed that the material properties of ZnO films required for their use in transparent thin film transistors, such as approximately $10^3{\Omega}cm$ in resistivity and higher than 85% in transmittance, can be achieved by controlling the gas mixing ratio of $O_2/H_2$ (sccm) in the range of 2/2~2/8.

  • The Acanthopanax genus belonging to the Araliaceae family is widely used as a traditional medicine having tonic and sedative effects. For the quality control of Acanthopanacis Cortex, lignan compound, acanthoside D, was isolated from the MeOH extract of Acanthopanax sessiliforum Seeman. (Araliaceae) and identified by the spectroscopic analysis. A quantitative analysis of acanthoside D using HPLC method showed that the average contents were $0.081{\pm}0.058%$ in 39 samples collected throughout the regions of Korea.

  • Objectives : This experiment was designed to investigate the effect of the BSGE hot water extract on serotonin biosynthesis of depression model. Methods : The cytotoxicity of the BSGE hot water extract was analyzed by MTT assay on P815 cell. The antioxidant activity was measured by DPPH free radical-scavenging activity and SOD activity on P815 cell. The quantity of 5-HT and expression of TPH-1, AAADC and MAOa mRNA was measured by of HPLC profle Analysis on P815 cell. Results : 1. The BSGE hot water extract increased DPPH free radical-scavenging activity and SOD activity on P815 cell. 2. The BSGE hot water extract increased significantly the quantity of 5-HT. 3. The BSGE hot water extract increased the expression of TPH-1 mRNA. Conclusions : This experiment shows that the BSGE hot water extract might be effective for the prevention and treatment of depression. Investigation into the clinical use of the BSGE hot water extract for depression is suggested for future research.
