Happiness among Pregnant Women: A Concept Analysis (임부의 행복에 대한 개념분석)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the concept of happiness among pregnant women. Methods: Walker and Avant's method for concept analysis was used. Results: The defining attributes of happiness among pregnant women were 1) period of pregnancy, 2) emotional dimension (positive affect), and 3) cognitive dimension(existence need-satisfaction, relatedness need-satisfaction, growth need-satisfaction). The antecedents of happiness among pregnant women were 1) intrapersonal characteristics, 2) reproductive history and related characteristics, 3) interpersonal relationship, and 4) external factors. The consequences included 1) pregnant women's well-being, 2) fetal well-being, 3) maternal well-being, and 4) child's happiness. Conclusion: Although further studies are required to refine the diverse attributes of the concept, the results of this study contribute to explaining happiness among pregnant women. In addition, the development of adequate interventions to increase prenatal happiness is needed.

Impact of Working Environment, Job Identity, and Job Satisfaction on Turnover Intention among Child Care Providers (아이돌보미 여성의 근무환경, 직업정체성, 직무만족도가 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study examined the impact of working environment, job identity, and job satisfaction on turnover intention among child care providers. Methods: Data were collected from a sample of 146 child care providers using self-administered questionnaires from May 1 to July 20, 2014. The data were analyzed with SPSS 18.0. Results: Child care providers had a middle level of job identity, job satisfaction, and turnover intention. Turnover intention among child care providers was significantly predicted by age, job satisfaction, and income satisfaction. Conclusion: These results suggest that intervention and strategy development are needed to decrease turnover intention among child care providers. Exploration of strategies to increase the job satisfaction and income satisfaction are needed, in order to reduce turnover intention.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the influential variables of participation toward voluntary activities of elderly women's. For this purpose, the data collected 312 women's elderly in Jinju city. Statistics employed for the analysis were frequencies, logit regression and multiple regression analysis. The major results of this study were as follows; In participation intention toward voluntary activities for women's elderly, the variables which influence were job, state of health, level of life, need of voluntary activities, and satisfaction of voluntary activities in the past.

Effects of Self-Esteem and Body Satisfaction of Middle-Aged Women on their Clothing Satisfaction and Clothing Selection Criteria (중년 여성 소비자의 자아존중감과 신체만족도가 의복 만족도와 의복선택기준에 미치는 영향)

  • The study analyzes the effects of self-esteem on body satisfaction, clothing satisfaction, and clothing selection criteria, the effects of body satisfaction on clothing satisfaction and clothing selection criteria, and the effects of clothing selection criteria on clothing satisfaction. The questionnaire developed by the researcher was distributed to 160 women between 40 and 65 years of age in Seoul or Gyeonggi-do. One hundred fifty one questionnaires were used in the final analysis. The data were analyzed by common factor analysis, multiple linear regression, t-test, ANOVA, and Tukey's test using SPSS 18.0/Windows. The results demonstrate that clothing selection criteria is classified into design, quality, practicality, and economics. There was a significant effect of self-esteem on body satisfaction, and significant effects of body satisfaction on clothing satisfaction and on factors of design, quality, economics in clothing selection criteria. Factors such as design, practicality, and economics contributed to clothing satisfaction. Significant differences were found in self-esteem between age groups as well as self-esteem and body satisfaction among groups according to education level and monthly income.

Study of Clothing Purchase Behavior and Fit of Middle and Elderly Women (중.노년층 여성들의 의복 구매 행동과 맞음새에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to find strategic methods of quality management for customer satisfaction when developing clothing for middle and elderly women. For this study was middle and elderly women who were living in Seoul and Kyonggi-do. SPSS 11.5 statistical program was used for data analysis and to conduct factor analysis, reliability verification, paired-sample t-test, frequency analysis and percentage. The result were as follows; First, middle and elderly women's behavioral characteristic in purchasing clothing, the average price of formal suit was 700 thousand won and the time for purchasing was less than 3 months. They tended to purchase mostly by themselves on their own, and they purchase their own formal suit. Second, The body parts that influence the fit the most are in the order of waist circumference, shoulder width, chest circumference. Third, Regarding the difference of importance and satisfaction on the fit by body part that the middle and elderly women by body part, there was no significant different in neck circumference and shoulder swerve. Overweighing middle and elderly women showed difference in importance and satisfaction on all body parts. Underweighing middle-aged to aged women showed a significant difference in importance and satisfaction in the order of circumference of hips. Fourth, middle-aged women in 50s showed higher importance than satisfaction in the order of waist circumference, and elderly women in 60s should higher importance than satisfaction in rise length, jacket length. Aged women in 70s and above should significant difference only in the height of collar.

A Study on Washing Habit and Washing Satisfaction of Married Women in Their 30s and 40s (30-40대 기혼여성의 세탁습관과 세탁만족도에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate i) the current state of washing knowledge and washing habits ii) the effect of washing behaviors on washing satisfaction. A survey questionnaire was developed and implemented to married women in their 30's or 40's. A total of 210 responses were analyzed by frequency analysis, t-test and ANOVA with PASW18.0. The results are as follows. First, the ways in which women do the laundry was analyzed. Married women in their 30s and 40s usually do the laundry at home and are familiar with washing symbols and do not rely on common sense. Most of them like to rely on the washing machine guidelines for detergent concentration and use the right amount for environmental protection. They also adjust the washing machine setting effectively considering laundry time, water temperature and care label. Second, the groups divided by demographic variables showed meaningful results about washing knowledge. Particularly, there is no significant difference on washing knowledge between housewives and career women. Third, the groups divided by the levels of washing habits showed suggestive results about washing satisfaction. The groups who have correct washing habits generally a indicated high degree of washing satisfaction. Finally, marketing implications for the businesses of laundry, laundromat and the manufacturers of washing machine are suggested.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of family-friendly life environment factors including local community's living environment satisfaction (safety, convenience, comfort, accessibility, exchange of neighbor satisfaction), family support facility satisfaction, family support program satisfaction and nurture and education environment satisfaction, and local community's living information accessibility on the effect of multiple roles of married men and women with children. Data were collected from 380 married men and women with children located Seoul, GyeongGi-Do, ChungCheongBuk-Do, and KyungSangNam-Do. The results show that, first of all, related to general trend of role satisfaction and role strain, the subjects have higher experience of role satisfaction than role strain. Secondly, the variables of social demography, such as monthly income, non-regular full-time working system, white collar occupation, number of children and level of education, and living environment variables, such as satisfaction of living environment stability and satisfaction of neighbor exchange in living environment were significantly related to role strain. Thirdly, social demography variables, such as average monthly earnings, gender (male), non-regular part-time working system, satisfaction of stability in living environment, and satisfaction of convenience in living environment were significantly related to role strain.

A Study on Family Conflict and Life Satisfaction for Immigrant Women (국제결혼 이주여성의 가족갈등과 생활만족도에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the differences among families in terms of conflict, life satisfaction according to socio-demographic variables, and self-esteem, and to analyze the effects of these variables influencing marital satisfaction for immigrant women. The subjects of this study were 127 immigrant women in Sunchon. Trained researchers interviewed the subjects with structured questionnaires. The data were analyzed using Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, ANOVA, Duncan's test, Pearson's r, and stepwise multiple regression. The statistical package of SPSS is used to perform these analyses. The result of this study is summarized as follows: The family conflict scores of the immigrant women were lower than the median. The average score of life satisfaction was higher than the median. The family conflict of the immigrant women showed significant differences according of age.

The Relationship among Family-Friendly Policies, Work-Life, Family-Life, and Intention of Childbirth (가족친화제도, 직장생활, 가정생활과 추가출산의향 간의 관계)

  • This study is to examine the influence of family-friendly policies on married female workers'desire for an additional child and the mediating effects of family-friendly policies and birth intention on the relationship between work- and family-life. A questionnaire survey was conducted with married female women who were under the age of 40 years and with young children, using convenience sampling. Initially, a total of 400 survey questionnaires were distributed and 326 of them were gathered and analyzed as final data. The study conducted descriptive statistics, structural equation modeling, Sobel's test, latent means analysis, and multi-group analysis to test the hypotheses. The findings are as follows. First, family-friendly policies positively impacted married women's willingness to have additional children. Second, family-friendly policies had significant positive implications on married female workers' work-life. It shows that family-friendly policies influenced married women's job satisfaction and organizational commitment, enhancing work-life satisfaction. Third, family-friendly policies were positively related with married women's family-life. It revealed that the policies had an impact on their marital satisfaction and parenting stress, improving family-life satisfaction. Fourth, married women's work-life factors, such as job satisfaction and organizational commitment, were not significantly associated with their intention of childbirth. Fifth, marital satisfaction and parenting stress were positive and significant factors affecting women's willingness to have additional children. Sixth, married women's family-life mediated the association between family policies and their childbirth intention, but their work-life did not do. Last, work- and family-life mediated the significant effect of family-friendly policies on the willingness in both groups: family-friendly policies${\rightarrow}$work-life, family-friendly policies${\rightarrow}$childbirth willingness, and family-friendly policies${\rightarrow}$family-life.

Study on the Young Women's Preference for the Apparel Design and Their Somatotype (20대 여성의 체형과 선호하는 디자인에 관한 연구)

  • This research is to find out what type of young women's body and how young women perceived their body. What's the most favorable style of young women and how the degree of body satisfaction affect to choose their dresses. This was find out how 123 young women with age 20 to 22, live in Seoul perceive their body and how their body perception or body satisfaction affect when they choose the clothing, and also what clothing style they prefer the most. And also how their body size was classified up to KS drop method. All respondents are classified into 3 groups of somatotypes. N. H and A types are. N. H somatotype are bigger than A somatotype. Their body perception was 3.65. They are satisfied feel comfort. They love very body conscious styles, tightly fitted style. Actually when they choose the right style, the somatotype was very important considerable variable. When the degree of body perception or body satisfaction is high, they are positive and easy to accept the current fashion.
