  • In this paper, we define an analogue of generalized Wiener measure and investigate its basic properties. We define (${\hat}It{o}$ type) stochastic integrals with respect to the generalized Wiener process and prove the ${\hat}It{o}$ formula. The existence and uniqueness of the solution of stochastic differential equation associated with the generalized Wiener process is proved. Finally, we generalize the linear filtering theory of Kalman-Bucy to the case of a generalized Wiener process.

  • In this paper, we present a robust recognition algorithm based on the Wiener filtering method as a research tool to develop the Korean Speech recognition system. We especially used Wiener filtering method in cepstrum-domain, because the method in frequency-domain is computationally expensive and complex. Evaluation of the effectiveness of this method has been conducted in speaker-independent isolated Korean digit recognition tasks using discrete HMM speech recognition systems. In these tasks, we used 12th order weighted cepstral as a feature vector and added computer simulated white gaussian noise of different levels to clean speech signals for recognition experiments under noisy conditions. Experimental results show that the presented algorithm can provide an improvement in recognition of as much as from $5\%\;to\;\20\%$ in comparison to spectral subtraction method.

  • The modified Wiener filtering method is proposed for effective noise suppression in edge region of images corrupted by additive white gaussian noise. Although the pixels classified as a edge region in the conventional Wiener filter have lots of noise components, the conventional Wiener filler cannot remove noise effectively due to the preserving of edges. To reduce noise well in edge region, we modify filter coefficients of the conventional Wiener filter The modified filter coefficients increase in noise suppression effect In edge region, while they preserve edges for strong edge region. From simulation $(256{\time}256$ size, 256 graylevel images) filtered images by the proposed method show much improved subjective image quality with some improved peak signal-to-noise ratio compared to those by the conventional Wiener filtering.

  • In this paper, we suggest a approach which comprises fast Fourier transform inversion by wavelet noise attenuation. It represents an inverse filtering by adopting a factor into the Wiener filtering, and the optimal factor is chosen to minimize the overall mean squared error. in order to apply the Wiener filter, we have to compute the power spectrum of original image from the corrupted figure. Since the Wiener filtering contains the inverse filtering process, it expands the noise when the blurring filter is not invertible. To remove the large noises, the best is to remove the noise using wavelet threshold. Wavelet noise attenuation steps are consisted of inverse filtering and noise reduction by Wavelet functions. experimental results have not outperformed the other methods over the overall restoration performance.

  • For an ordinary engineer or researcher there are too diversified branches or even disciplines which have their own jargon to complicate an easy access, Nevertheless in many cases an isomorphism or even identity of notions exist to escape our grasp when expressed in different discipline or context, In this paper the masterwork of Box and Jenkins is introduced to accustom a few terms of statisticiens, to be followed by the technique of smoothing filtering of Wiener and Kalman - Bucy. The advantages of a transform (for example Hadamard) technique are explaned as well as authors personal philosophical views.

  • This paper presents the performance of a GHICW(Group-wise Hybrid Interference Cancellation scheme based on Wiener filtering) receiver for the multi-rate DS-CDMA system. Our scheme has a small processing delay and a simple hardware complexity compared to ordinary interference cancellation schemes by grouping users with the same date rate. The performance improvement of the low rate user is obtained by using a Wiener filter which precisely estimates the high rate users' bit.

  • We present a novel deblurring algorithm for bi-level images blurred by some parameterizable point spread function. The proposed method iteratively searches unknown parameters in the point spread function and noise-to-signal ratio by minimizing an objective function that is based on the binariness and the difference between two intensity values of restoring image. In simulations and experiments, the proposed method showed improved performance compared with the Wiener filtering based method in terms of bit error rate after segmentation.

  • In this paper, we propose the iterative receiver for LDPC-coded OFDMA systems in uplink environments. Applying the Wiener filtering to pilot symbols, an initial channel estimation can be performed effectively. To reduce the complexity of the Wiener filtering, we approximate Wiener filtering coefficients to pre-determined coefficients according to estimated correlation of channel. After an LDPC decoding process, soft symbol derived by extrinsic information of decoder outputs is used to estimate channel. we also derive the error variance of channel estimation and maximum ratio combined results. Using combined results, the channel correlation is re-estimated. Then the proper Wiener filtering coefficients are chosen according to the re-estimated result of the channel correction. Using a computer simulation, we show that the proposed receiver structure has the better performance than the receiver using only pilot symbols.

  • In this paper we propose the impulse noise-robust Wiener filter based on a combination of Wiener and modified trimmed mean(MTM) filters. The robust Wiener filter uses the trimming operation of the MTM filter to replace the outliers with the median within the window and the new set of samples which can be considered as the random process with same mean are inputted into the following Wiener filter. We show that the robust Wiener filter is effective in frequency selective filtering of nonstationary signals while preserving signal edges with the rejection of impulse noise.
