  • Recently international organizations such as ISO/TC211, OGC, INSPIRE (Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe) make an effort to share geospatial data using semantic web technologies. In addition, smart phone and social networking services enable community-based opportunities for participants to share issues of a social phenomenon based on geographic area, and many researchers try to find a method of extracting issues from that. However, serviceable spatial ontologies are still insufficient at application level, and studies of spatial information extraction from SNS were focused on user's location finding or geocoding by text mining. Therefore, a study of extracting spatial phenomenon from social media information and converting it into geosemantic knowledge is very usable. In this paper, we propose a framework for extracting keywords from micro-blog, one of the social media services, finding their relationships using data mining technique, and converting it into spatiotemopral knowledge. The result of this study could be used for implementing a related system as a procedure and ontology model for constructing geoseem antic issue. And from this, it is expected to improve the effectiveness of finding, publishing and analysing spatial issues.

  • The generation of small hydropower as compared to other different developed environmental methods produces one of the clean energies. In such manner, various application system development through IT technique is being developed for an advanced small hydropower energy resources data mining. However, existing data analysis of New & Renewable Information System for small hydropower resources application is incomplete therefore it limits expressing these information on the Web. Thus for positive usage of small hydropower resources, a more systematic and precise analysis system should be built. This study seeks to develop a map of the domestic small hydropower resources problems to further improve small hydropower resources, developed through Package Tool which can accurately evaluate a wide range of small hydropower basin in a short period of time. Small hydropower Package Tool was calculated using existing Analysis System small hydropower resources which did not provide diverse capabilities resulting to 840 standard basin classified by A and facility capacity, etc., and to assume a 40% annual capacity, expected annual electricity production was calculated. • Recently, interest in location-based service (LBS) which utilizes a DBMS in mobile system environment has been increasing, and it is expected to overcome the existing file-based system's limitation in advanced in-vehicle system by utilizing DBMS's advantages such as efficient storage, transaction management, modelling and spatial queries etc. In particular, the road network data corresponds to the most essential domain in a route planning system, which needs efficient management and maintenance. Accordingly, this study aims to develop an efficient graph-based geodata model for topological network data and to support dynamic path computation algorithm based on heuristic approach in mobile LBS system. To achieve this goal, we design a data model for supporting the hierarchy of network, and implement a path planning system to evaluate its performance in mobile LBS system. Last but not least, we find out that the designed path computation algorithm with hierarchical graph model reduced the number of nodes used for finding and improved the efficiency of memory.

  • In mobile environment supporting mobility technologies, user requirements have been increased with respect to utilization of location information. In particular, moving object DBMS has consistently posed in order to efficiently maintain traffic information related to location of vehicle which tents to tremendously change over time. Despite the fact that these sorts of researches must be taken into consideration, empirical studies on moving object in terms of map database for lbs service, spatial attribute of which is continuously changed over time, have rarely performed. Therefore, aim of this paper is to suggest efficient spatial index scheme, which is capable of supporting query processing algorithm and location of moving object over time, by developing new empirical model. As a result, we can come to the conclusion that moving object model based on multi-fixed grid index makes it possible to cut down on the number of entity for retrieving. What's more, this model enables hierarchical data to be accessed through efficient spatial filtering on large-scale lbs data and constraints in accordance with level in order to display map.

  • The purpose of this research is to explore the possibility of geographic education by implementing the map-based geographic education site which mashed up with Google earth by referring the various materials of geographic education which exist in on-line and off-line. In recent years map-based geographic education is required by the radical change of geoweb environments, but there have been few researches in this field. This research is folded up as follows: First, we designed the contents through the textbook analysis and then collect various data related to the contents such as pictures, video clips, conceptual map, etc. which are required to explain the concept. Second, we mashed up the collected data on the Google earth by using the Google's open API. Third, we implemented the geographic education website based on the classification of contents in textbook and the various collected data. This research is important in both that it explores the possibility of the map-based education rather than the text-based education in the geographic field which handles mainly the space and finds the best method to express the various concepts of the textbook on the geoweb environments.

  • This study simulated the flood inundations of the Nakdong River catchment running through Yangsan, a small city located in the south eastern area of Korea by using the depth averaged two-dimensional hydrodynamic numerical model. The numerical model employs the staggered grid system including moving boundary and a finite different method to solve the Saint-Venant equations. A second order upwind scheme is used to discretize the nonlinear convection terms of the momentum equations, whereas linear terms are discretized by a second order Leap-frog scheme(Cho and Yoon, 1998). The numerical model was applied to a real topography to simulate the flood inundation of the Yangsan basin in Yangsan. The numerical result for urban district was visualization for three dimension. These results can be essentially utilized to construct the three dimensional inundation map after building the GIS-based database in local public organizations in order to protect the life and property safely.
