Development of Embedded Web Server System Using a Real-Time OS (실시간 운영체제를 이용한 내장형 웹서버 시스템 개발)

  • Embedded system area has brought an innovation and has been spread rapidly by the growth of the Internet, wireless telephony and multimedia recently. Many embedded systems are required to be real-time systems in that it needs multi-tasking and priority based scheduling. This paper introduces a real-time system that was developed with web server ability for control and monitoring system employing a real-time operating system. It discusses the design model, structure, and applications of web server system. We used SNDS100 board which has a 32-bit RISC microcontroller of ARM7TDMI core as a hardware platform. MicroC/OS kernel was used as Real-time operating system that supports a preemptive and multitasking functions. We developed a hierarhchical control and monitoring system that not only reduced system and management costs, but also enhanced reusability and portability.

  • Driven by the growth of the Internet and the increasing ubiquity of embedded computing systems, the embedded system is exploding in terms of it proliferation of products and the number of complex applications. Intelligent dedicated systems and appliances used in interface, monitoring, communications, and control applications increasingly demand the services of a sophisticated, state-of-the-art operating system. In the case of industrial controller, it is required to use a real-time operating system (RTOS) as a good building block to enable Internet connectivity. However, commercial RTOSes are increasingly less desirable due to their lack of standardization and their inability to keep pace with the rapid evolution of technology. In order to overcome these problems, we consider using embedded Linux and embedded web server. Availability of source code, reduced licensing, reliability, open source community support, as well as others, are key reasons for the use of embedded linux by embedded developers. In this paper, we develop embedded linux platform to control the industrial inverter with the Internet connecting feature. The method of web-based management is also proposed by using the embedded web server and Java applet. We show the feasibility of remote management for the commercial inverter controller with the proposed three-tier web-based remote management system.

  • We have designed embedded web sewer system and ported Linux operating system version 2.4.5 at our system. And then We implemented to control and monitor widely separated hardware and implemented to monitor widely separated image using CMOS image sensor HV7131B. Web server is the Boa web server with General Public License. We designed for this system using of Intel's SA1110 ARM core base processor and connecting input and output device at GPIO port of SA1110. Device driver of General purpose I/O for Embedded Linux OS is designed. And then the application program controlling driver is implemented to use of common gate interface C language. User is available to control and monitor at client PC. This method have benefit to reduce the Expenditure of hardware design and development time against PC base system and have various and capacious application against firmware base system.

  • In this paper, we design and implement remote servo motor control system with real-time micro embedded operating system. The system, where controller and camera image grabber are mounted, handles control commands transmitted from a remote PC web browser. A hard real-time servo motor driver running on the real-time micro embedded OS and then a digital control application which confirms precise sampling time intervals is constructed. Frame grabber images transmitted from camera are saved in a image data format to view on remote PC web browser.

  • Today large corporations are constructing distributed server environment. Many corporations are respectively operating Web server, FTP server, Mail server and DB server on heterogeneous operation. However, there is the problem that a manager must manage each server individually. In this paper, we present distributed FTP server for log mining system on ACE. Proposed log mining system is based upon ACE (Adaptive Communication Environment) framework and data mining techniques. This system provides a united operation with distributed FTP server.

  • In this study, the architecture of the Web Camera System for realtime monitoring on Internet is proposed and implemented in two different structures. In the one architecture, a Web-server and a Camera-server are implemented on the same system, and the system transfers motion pictures compressed to JPEG file to users on the WWW(World Wide Web). In the other architecture, the Web-server and the Camera-server are implemented on different systems, and the motion pictures are transferred from the Camera-server to the Web-server, and finally to users. For JPEG image transferring in the Web Camera system, the Java Applet and the Java Script are used to maximize flexibility of the system from the Operating system and the Web browsers. In order to compare system performance between two architectures, data traffic is measured and simulated in the unit of byte per second.

  • For tendering three-dimensional map information using Internet, firstly Web server is considered, but generally the source code of commercial application is not open to the public and approaching the source technology is difficult. So, there are many limitations of the technology development. In this study, to solve these problems, we have introduced Linux operating system with open source system and utilized VRML to be able to practice three-dimensional spatial data on Web browser, and constructed the Internet three-dimensional map server. In the result, the constructed server is economical because there is no cost except the hardware, and the active maintenance and management is accomplished by using the opened source code.

  • This paper deals with the development of a deep-learning-based robot that recognizes various types of stairs and performs a mission to go up to the target floor. The overall motion sequence of the robot is performed based on the ROS robot operating system, and it is possible to detect the shape of the stairs required to implement the motion sequence through rapid object recognition through YOLOv4 and Cuda acceleration calculations. Using the ROS operating system installed in Jetson Nano, a system was built to support communication between Arduino DUE and OpenCM 9.04 with heterogeneous hardware and to control the movement of the robot by aligning the received sensors and data. In addition, the web server for robot control was manufactured as ROS web server, and flow chart and basic ROS communication were designed to enable control through computer and smartphone through message passing.

  • Recently, Linux operating system is used for web server environment, but to build web server applications need to be operated many related softwares, such as installing web server, web and database system integration and programming for script language. Most of schools in korea do not have computer specialist for building web server or cyber school. In this paper, we describe design and implementation of an automated building system(AnyBuilder) for cyber school. AnyBuilder build web-based cyber school system, just clicking a few of button and some commands. Especially, it has two phases to build cyber school, one is to generate empty web-based cyber school and the other is to upload contents of lecture.

A Web Cluster Scheme using Distributed File Server in Internet Environments

  • In this paper, we propose to new dispatcher method, which doesn't depend on an operating system of the server, and the direct routing method, by which a server answers a client's request at first hand. And, propose new web clustering scheme based on the contents on the web where web servers composed of cluster, with each different contents, answer client's request. The other purposes are to reduce overhead of the dispatcher through load balance, and to minimize the time to take in responding to a client's request. The performance of new web cluster scheme was improved by about 39% than that of the existing RR method. It was identified that the performance of the proposed web cluster method was extraordinary improved comparing with that of the existing RR method as a whole.
