  • Recently, as interest in health increases, various wearable devices such as smart watch and smart band which can measure user's biometric information are being studied. Conventional wearable devices service the measured biometric information in a form that provides simple monitoring, disease prevention, and exercise amount. However, the user is Lack to deal with the dangerous situation. In this paper, we propose a hazard notification system to address these problems. The biometric information measured by the acceleration sensor and the heart rate sensor is transmitted to the application through the Arduino in real time. It identifies the risk situation through sensor priority measurement and risk situation identification algorithm. If a dangerous situation occurs, a notification message is sent to the guardian indicating the current location of the user. Therefore, it can be expected that if a dangerous situation occurs to a user who needs protection, he can respond promptly.

  • Due to the development of mobile computing and wearable technology, various wearable devices for measuring bio-signals in everyday life have been developed and popularized, and healthcare services utilizing bio-signals are attracting attention. In recent years, healthcare services have been developed and studied using various bio-signal analysis tools. Most bio-signal analysis studies utilize Matlab. However, in order to apply the algorithm developed in Matlab to the system, it is necessary to convert the source. We want to provide a smart interface that can skip source conversion. In this paper, we develop an interface to run the source file itself in the system by omitting the conversion technique for applying the algorithm developed in Matlab to the system.

  • Ubiquitous Healthcare (u-Healthcare) is the intelligent delivery of healthcare services to users anytime and anywhere. To provide robust healthcare services, recognition of patient daily life activities is required. Context information in combination with user real-time daily life activities can help in the provision of more personalized services, service suggestions, and changes in system behavior based on user profile for better healthcare services. In this paper, we focus on the intelligent manipulation of activities using the Context-aware Activity Manipulation Engine (CAME) core of the Human Activity Recognition Engine (HARE). The activities are recognized using video-based, wearable sensor-based, and location-based activity recognition engines. An ontology-based activity fusion with subject profile information for personalized system response is achieved. CAME receives real-time low level activities and infers higher level activities, situation analysis, personalized service suggestions, and makes appropriate decisions. A two-phase filtering technique is applied for intelligent processing of information (represented in ontology) and making appropriate decisions based on rules (incorporating expert knowledge). The experimental results for intelligent processing of activity information showed relatively better accuracy. Moreover, CAME is extended with activity filters and T-Box inference that resulted in better accuracy and response time in comparison to initial results of CAME.

  • Recently, many domestic and foreign corporates are concentrating in investment to wearable devices and users are provided with various service based on wearable devices 26% more than compared to last year. It is widely used in previous healthcare, smart work, smart home environment, and it is now introduced to get connection to fused service environment. However, as products of G company are commercialized, the security issue of personal information is causing dispute in society, and the danger of data management and security regarding telecommunication is increasing. Also, because the password system used in previous wireless environment is still in use, there are possible vulnerability considering the new and mutant security threat. This thesis conducted study about protocols that can exercise safe telecommunication in the basis of wearable devices. In the registration and certification process, the signature value is created based on the code value. The telecommunication method is designed to conduct safe telecommunication based on the signature value. As for the attack method occurring in the wearable device environment, the safety was analyzed and conducted performance evaluation of previous password system and proposal system, and verified about 14% of efficiency.

  • Significance verification of electric fabric compared with existing electrode is very useful for the wearable and ubiquitous healthcare. In this paper, we verified the significance between Ag/AgCl electrode and electric fabric in dry-normal condition through heart rate variability analysis. We can find 98 % or more similarity about low frequency and high frequency which is important parameter for the heart rate variability analysis between two different electrodes in experiment. From this result, we confirmed that the power spectral density of low frequency, high frequency component from the electric fabric has high similarity compared with the result of heart rate variability from Ag/AgCl electrode in dry-normal condition.

  • A security company has been proposed for various healthcare systems. However, there are improvements in order to achieve better efficiency and stability in the various protocols presented. The purpose of this paper is to provide cryptanalysis and solution on Vijayakumar et al.'s secure communication scheme for healthcare system using wearable devices. Especially, it is weak against denial of service attack and it does not provide integrity of the transmitted messages. Thereby, this paper proposes a new secure communication scheme to cope from the problems in Vijayakumar et al.'s scheme. It provides authentication and integrity, which could be the security solution against Vijayakumar et al.'s scheme. Furthermore, it also provides a good computational overhead compared to Vijayakumar et al.'s scheme.

  • With the help of a small wearable device, patients reside in an isolated village need constant monitoring which may increase access to care and decrease healthcare delivery cost. As the number of patients' requests increases in simultaneously manner, the web service gateway located in the village hall encounters limitations for performing them successfully and concurrently. The gateway based RESTful technology responsible for handling patients' requests attests an internet latency in case a large number of them submit toward the gateway increases. In this paper, we propose the design tasks of the web service gateway for handling concurrency events. In the procedure of designing tasks, concurrency is best understood by employing multiple levels of abstraction. The way that is eminently to accomplish concurrency is to build an object-oriented environment with support for messages passing between concurrent objects. We also investigate the performance of event-driven architecture for building web service gateway using node.js. The experiments results show that server-side JavaScript with Node.js and MongoDB as database is 40% faster than Apache Sling. With Node.js developers can build a high-performance, asynchronous, event-driven healthcare hub server to handle an increasing number of concurrent connections for Remote Healthcare Monitoring System in an isolated village with no access to local medical care.

  • Among the various physiological information that could be obtained from human body, heartbeat rate is a commonly used vital sign in the clinical milieu. Photoplethysography (PPG) sensor is incorporated into many wearable healthcare devices because of its advantages such as simplicity of hardware structure and low-cost. However, healthcare device employing PPG sensor has been issued in susceptibility of light and motion artifact. In this paper, to develop the real-time heart rate measurement device that is less sensitive to the external noises, we have fabricated an ultra-small wireless LC resonant pressure sensor by MEMS process. After performance evaluation in linearity and repeatability of the MEMS pressure sensor, heartbeat waveform and rate on radial artery were obtained by using resonant frequency-pressure conversion method. The measured data using the proposed heartbeat rate measurement system was validated by comparing it with the data of an commercialized heart rate measurement device. Result of the proposed device was agreed well to that of the commercialized device. The obtained real time heartbeat wave and rate were displayed on personal mobile system by bluetooth communication.
