  • Summation theorems for hypergeometric series $_2F_1$ and generalized hypergeometric series $_pF_q$ play important roles in themselves and their diverse applications. Some summation theorems for $_2F_1$ and $_pF_q$ have been established in several or many ways. Here we give a proof of Watson's classical summation theorem for the series $_3F_2$(1) by following the same lines used by Rakha [7] except for the last step in which we applied an integral formula introduced by Choi et al. [3].

  • In 1965, Bhatt and Pandey have obtained an analogue of the Whipple's theorem for double series by using Watson's theorem on the sum of a $_3F_2$. The aim of this paper is to derive twenty five results for double series closely related to the analogue of the Whipple's theorem for double series obtained by Bhatt and Pandey. The results are derived with the help of twenty five summation formulas closely related to the Watson's theorem on the sum of a $_3F_2$ obtained recently by Lavoie, Grondin, and Rathie.

  • The main aim of this research paper is to evaluate the general integral of the form $${\int_{0}^{1}}x^{c-1}(1-x)^{c+{\ell}}[1+{\alpha}x+{\beta}(1-x)]^{-2c-{\ell}-1}\atop {\times}_3F_2\left\[ {a,\;b,\;2c+{\ell}+1} \\ {\frac{1}{2}(a+b+i+1),\;2c+j\;;\frac{(1+{\alpha})x}{1+{\alpha}x+{\beta}(1-x)} }\right]dx$$ in the most general form for any ${\ell}{\in}\mathbb{Z}$; and $i, j=0,{\pm}1,{\pm}2$. The results are established with the help of generalized Watson's summation theorem due to Lavoie, et al. Fifty interesting general integrals have also been obtained as special cases of our main findings.

  • The aim of this research paper is to evaluate fifty double integrals invoving generalized hypergeometric function (25 each) in the form of $${{\int}^1_0}{{\int}^1_0}\;x^{{\gamma}-1}y^{{\gamma}+c-1}(1-x)^{c-1}(1-y)^{c+{\ell}}(1-xy)^{{\delta}-2c-{\ell}-1}{\times}_3F_2\[{^{a,\;b,\;2c+{\ell}+1}_{\frac{1}{2}(a+b+i+1),\;2c+j}}\;;{\frac{(1-x)y}{1-xy}}\]dxdy$$ and $${{\int}^1_0}{{\int}^1_0}\;x^{{\gamma}-1}y^{{\gamma}+c+{\ell}}(1-x)^{c+{\ell}}(1-y)^{c-1}(1-xy)^{{\delta}-2c-{\ell}-1}{\times}_3F_2\[{^{a,\;b,\;2c+{\ell}+1}_{\frac{1}{2}(a+b+i+1),\;2c+j}}\;;{\frac{1-y}{1-xy}}\]dxdy$$ in the most general form for any ${\ell}{\in}{\mathbb{Z}}$ and i, j = 0, ${\pm}1$, ${\pm}2$. The results are derived with the help of generalization of Edwards's well known double integral due to Kim, et al. and generalized classical Watson's summation theorem obtained earlier by Lavoie, et al. More than one hundred ineteresting special cases have also been obtained.

  • A number of identities associated with the product of generalized hypergeometric series have been investigated. In this paper, we aim to establish an identity involving the product of the generalized hypergeometric series $_2F_2$. We do this using the generalized Kummer-type II transformation due to Rathie and Pogany and another identity due to Bailey. The result presented here, being general, can be reduced to a number of relatively simple identities involving the product of generalized hypergeometric series, some of which are observed to correspond to known ones.

  • The well known quadratic transformation formula due to Gauss: $$(1-x)^{-2a}{_2F_1}\[{{a,b;}\\\hfill{21}{2b;}}\;-\frac{4x}{(1-x)^2}\]={_2F_1}\[{{a,a-b+\frac{1}{2};}\\\hfill{65}{b+\frac{1}{2};}}\;x^2\]$$ plays an important role in the theory of (generalized) hypergeometric series. In 2001, Rathie and Kim have obtained two results closely related to the above quadratic transformation for $_2F_1$. Our main objective of this paper is to deduce some interesting known or new results for the series $_2F_1(x)$ by using the above Gauss's quadratic transformation and its contiguous relations and then apply our results to provide a list of a large number of integrals involving confluent hypergeometric functions, some of which are (presumably) new. The results established here are (potentially) useful in mathematics, physics, statistics, engineering, and so on.
