  • To evaluate the potential of the stem cell therapy as a method for prenatal management of spinal open neural tube defect (ONTD), the influence of embryonic stem cells injected into the amniotic cavity on the re-closure capacity of spinal ONTD was investgated. Spinal neural tube was incised open for a length of 6 somites using chick embryos of Hamburger and Hamilton stage 18 or 19. (omitted)

  • 본 논문에서는 극배치(pole placement) 제어 시스템의 상태들에 의해서 훈련된 신경 회로망(Neural Network)을 기반으로 새로운 슬라이딩 평면의 설계 기법을 제안한다 훈련된 데이더를 가진 신경 회로망은 배치 제어의 성능을 가지며 새로운 슬라이딩 평면을 설계하는데 사용되어 진다. 그 결과 시스템의 파라미터 불확실성이 존재하더라도 제안된 슬라이딩 평면으로서 슬라이딩 모드 제어의 강인성이 신경회로망을 통한 극배치제어의 성능에 추가되는 것이 가능하다.

Adaptive States Feedback Control of Unknown Dynamics Systems Using Support Vector Machines

  • This paper proposes a very novel method which makes it possible that state feedback controller can be designed for unknown dynamic system with measurable states. This novel method uses the support vector machines (SVM) with its function approximation property. It works together with RLS (Recursive least-squares) algorithm. The RLS algorithm is used for the identification of input-output relationship. A virtual state space representation is derived from the relationship and the SVM makes the relationship between actual states and virtual states. A state feedback controller can be designed based on the virtual system and the SVM makes the controller with actual states. The results of this paper can give many opportunities that the state feedback control can be applied for unknown dynamic systems.

  • 본 논문에서는 음악 신호로부터 추출한 비트 정보를 사용하여 가상 캐릭터의 움직임을 제어하는 방법에 대해 논한다. 특히 주기를 가지는 반복적인 동작, 그 중에서도 춤동작에 대한 음악 신호와의 동기화 방법을 제안한다. 서버로 구현된 음악 비트 인식기는 입력 음악 신호에 대한 분석 정보를 규칙적으로 출력한다. 동작 클라이언트는 동작 캡쳐를 통해 얻은 동작 데이터를 여러 개의 기본 동작들로 나누고, 사용자가 선택한 새로운 순서대로 기본 동작들을 연결하여 부드럽게 재생한다. 또한 서버에 접속하여 전송 받은 음악의 템포에 맞게 동작데이터를 와핑(warping)하고 음악의 주요 비트 시각에 맞추어 기본 동작들의 재생시작 시간을 동기화한다. 음원에 의한, 즉 박자, 강약, 비트와 같은 기본적인 정보뿐만 아니라 분위기, 박자 변화와 같은 고급 정보에도 동적으로 반응하여 춤을 추는 가상 캐릭터를 개발하는 것이 본 연구의 궁극적인 목표이다.

  • Mungyung area has contributed to korean industrial development with its abundant natural resources. However, the change of industrial structure caused the decrease of the number of mines in Mungyung and it resulted in the economic depression in that area. Recently. the economic growth of Mungyung is attempted by developing the distribution center of agricultural products and the resort complex using beautiful natural environment such as the film setting of 'Taejo Wang - gun' and hot spring in good quality. In this article I survey the foreigners aware of the principle products of this district and their intention of purchasing the products using local speciality. I also make confectionery experiments on the basis of the survey and develop various confectionery using principle products of Mungyung.

  • Since the global positioning system receivers on the surface of the Earth use satellite signals sent from a remote distance and the intensity of received signals is weak, they are vulnerable to jamming. This paper implements a vector-tracking loop (VTL)-based global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receiver algorithm as an anti-jamming technique and compares the performance of VTL-based receivers with that of scalar-tracking loop (STL) that is used in general GNSS receivers at various jamming environments and a vehicle's dynamics. The simulation results shows that VTL is more robust against jamming than STL in all operating environments.

  • Waste concrete powder(WCP) has been estimated with a great value-added material as by-product of waste concrete manufactured to fine and coarse aggregate for concrete, because it is able to utilized for cement clinker and concrete admixture. Experimental tests were performed as such plastic viscosity of paste, flow and compressive strength of mortar by surface area of WCP. As a result, flow and 28days compressive strength of mortar was decreased according to increased replacement ratio of WCP as compared to control mortar. Also, plastic viscosity of paste used WCP1 and WCP2 was decreased with increasing replacement ratio, but WCP3 was increased with increasing replacement ratio.

Estimation of error variance in nonparametric regression under a finite sample using ridge regression

  • Tong and Wang's estimator (2005) is a new approach to estimate the error variance using least squares method such that a simple linear regression is asymptotically derived from Rice's lag- estimator (1984). Their estimator highly depends on the setting of a regressor and weights in small sample sizes. In this article, we propose a new approach via a local quadratic approximation to set regressors in a small sample case. We estimate the error variance as the intercept using a ridge regression because the regressors have the problem of multicollinearity. From the small simulation study, the performance of our approach with some existing methods is better in small sample cases and comparable in large cases. More research is required on unequally spaced points.
