  • Supply chain management (SCM) is an area that has recently received a great deal of attention in the business community. While SCM is relatively new, the idea of coordinated planning is not. During the last decades, many researchers have investigated multi-stage inventory problems. However, only a few papers address the problem of cost-optimal coordination of multi-stage inventory control with respect to service measures. Even published approaches have a shortcoming in dealing with a delivery lead time consisted of a shipping time and a waiting time. Assumed that there is no waiting time, or that the delivery lead time is implicitly compounded of a shipping time and a waiting time, the problem is often simplified into a multi-stage buffer allocation and a single-stage stochastic buffer sizing problem at all installations. This paper presents a simulation-based heuristic algorithm and a comparison with others for the problem that cannot be decomposed into a multi-stage buffer allocation and a single-stage stochastic buffer sizing problem because the waiting time ties together all stages. The comparison shows that the simulation-based heuristic algorithm performs better than other approaches in saving average inventory cost for both Poisson and Normal demands.

Working hours compared to CD and DVD media to test the results of the Import target PC, KIOSK, CD Autoloader Import spent less time in the order, and also the greater capacity of CD Autoloader four times the PC, KIOSK 2 times Import could be implemented quickly. In addition, the waiting time of the patients was measured using the PC's time to Import, 2011 14.5 minutes and the average patient waiting time, KIOSK and later use CD Autoloader 2012 average patient wait time of 8.25 minutes, 43% of the existing average waiting time was 5.25 minutes to reduce. However, KIOSK case of a patient in a way that directly Import latency time was soon. Import of three ways: in terms of efficiency and excellent CD Autoloader way, the patient waiting time in terms of ease of use and KIOSK was excellent. In addition, with the introduction of CD Autoloader with KIOSK Joint of the items waiting time of patients and patient satisfaction rating is considered to be a major contribution.

  • We consider the discrete-time $Geo^x/G/1$ queues under N-policy with multiple vacations (a single vacation) and setup time. In this queueing system, the server takes multiple vacations (a single vacation) whenever the system becomes empty, and he begins to serve the customers after setup time only if the queue length is at least a predetermined threshold value N. Using the heuristic approach, we derive the mean waiting time for both vacation models. We demonstrate that the heuristic approach is also useful for the discrete-time queues.

약국서비스 만족에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석 - 환자체감시간과 실 조제시간 비교를 중심으로 - (Analysis of Factors Affecting on Satisfaction of Pharmacy Service)

  • Purpose : To shorten processing time for variety of medical affairs of the patient at the outpatient clinic of a big hospital is very important to qualify medical care of the patient. Therefore, patient's waiting time for drug delivery after doctor's prescription is often utilized as a strong tool to evaluate patient satisfaction with a medical care provided. We performed this study to investigate factors influencing patient satisfaction related with waiting time for drug delivery. Methods : The data were collected from July 21 to August 12, 1998. A total 535 patients or their families who visited outpatient clinics of Inha University Hospital were subjected to evaluate the drug delivery time and the level of their satisfaction related, which were compared with those objectively evaluated by Quality Improvement Team. The reliability of the scale was tested with Cronbach's alpha, and the data were analyzed using frequency, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis and multiple regression. Results : The mean drug delivery time subjectively evaluated by the patient (16.1 13.0 min) was longer than that objectively evaluated (10.9 7.6 min) by 5.2 min. Drug delivery time objectively evaluated was influenced by the prescription contents, total amount or type of drug dispensed, etc, as expected. The time discrepancy between two evaluations was influenced by several causative factors. One of those proved to be a patient's late response to the information from the pharmacy which the drug is ready to deliver. Interestingly, this discrepancy was found to be more prominent especially when waiting place for drug delivery was not less crowded. Other factors, pharmaceutical counseling at the pharmacy, emotional status or behavior of a patient while he waits for the medicine, were also found to influence the time subjectively evaluated. Regarding the degree of patient satisfaction with the drug delivery, majority of patients accepted drug delivery time with less than 10 min. It was also found to be influenced by emotional status of the patient as well as kindness or activity of pharmaceutical counselor. Conclusion : The results show that, besides prescription contents, behavior pattern or emotional status of a patient, environment of the waiting place, and quality of pharmaceutical counseling at the pharmacy, may influence the patient's subjective evaluation of waiting time for drug delivery and his satisfaction related with the service in the big hospital. In order to improve patient satisfaction related with waiting time for drug delivery, it will be cost effective to qualify pharmaceutical counseling and information system at the drug delivery site or waiting place rather than to shorten the real processing time within the pharmacy.

Estimation of Users' Waiting Cost at Container Terminals in Northern Vietnam

  • Container terminals in Northern Vietnam have recorded an impressive development in recent years. This development, however, also raises a fierce competition among local container terminals to attract customers. Beside the handling charges, the vessels' waiting cost is also an important factor that drive the opinion of users in choosing appropriate terminal. This research plans to estimate the waiting cost in different container terminals in Northern Vietnam by building regression equation that describe the relationship between the rate of throughput/capacity and waiting cost/TEU. Queuing theory with the application of Poisson distibution is used to estimate the waiting time of arrival vessels and uncertainty theory is applied to estimate the vessel's daily expenses. Previous studies suggested two different formation of the equation and according to the research results, cubic equation is more suitable in the given case. The research results are also useful for further research which require calculation of waiting cost per TEU in each container terminal in Northern Vietnam.

SmartQ : 모바일 큐 관리 시스템 (SmartQ : Mobile Queue Management System)

  • 일반적으로 은행, 관공서, 병원과 같이 사람이 많은 장소에서는 대체로 고객에게 일정 시간의 대기시간이 요구되며, 이로 인해 고객의 방문 순서에 따라 고객 대기번호가 기재된 순번대기표를 뽑아 순번을 기다리게 된다. 이와 같은 방법에서는 대기 중인 고객은 현재 처리중인 대기 순서를 항상 확인해야 하므로 대기번호표시부가 보이는 장소 내에 있어야 하는 제약이 있어 다른 장소에서 별도의 업무를 볼 수 없다는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문은 스마트폰을 이용한 대기번호를 발급하는 어플리케이션인 SmartQ 시스템을 개발하였다. SmartQ는 스마트폰을 이용하여 기존의 대기번호 발권기를 대체하여 편리하게 순번대기 서비스를 이용할 수 있도록 지원하며, 서비스 알림, 대기인원, 시간대별/업무별 예상대기시간 등을 실시간으로 제공한다.

Optimal Traffic Information using Fuzzy Neural Network

  • This paper is researching the storing of 40 different kinds of conditions. Such as, car speed, delay in starting time and the volume of cars in traffic. Through the use of a central nervous networking system or AI, using 10 different intersecting roads. We will improve the green traffic light. And allow more cars to easily flow through the intersections. Now days, with increasing many vehicles on restricted roads, the conventional traffic light creates prove startup-delay time and end-lag-time. The conventional traffic light loses the function of optimal cycle. And so, 30-45% of conventional traffic cycle is not matched to the present traffic cycle. In this paper proposes electro sensitive traffic light using fuzzy look up table method which will reduce the average vehicle waiting time and improve average vehicle speed. Computer simulation results prove that reducing the average vehicle waiting time which proposed considering passing vehicle length for optimal traffic cycle is better than fixed signal method which dosen't consider vehicle length.

  • Scheduling of electric vehicles and optimizing for charging waiting time have been critical. Meanwhile, it is challengeable to exploit the fluctuating data from electric vehicles in real-time. We introduce an optimal routing algorithm and a simulator with electric vehicles obeying the Poisson distribution of the observed information about time, space and energy-demand. Electric vehicle routing is updated in every cycle even it is already set. Also, we suggest an electric vehicle routing algorithm for minimizing total trip time, considering a threshold of the waiting time. Total trip time and charging waiting time are decreased 34.3% and 86.4% respectively, compared to the previous algorithm. It can be applied to the information service of charging stations and utilized as a reservation service.

  • In this paper the best way of servicing to the waiting guests at the Express Bus Terminal, is to determined by the computer simulation. The mathematical model for the waiting guests is formulated with the statistics data by researching the waiting lines of the guests at the guests at the specified Express Bus Terminal. The waiting phenomena is simulated using Monte Carlo method to decide the proper number of window and the time for servicing. Finally it present the way of the improvement of service with the good results of simulation.

개인 병원의 부분 예약제 도입을 위한 시뮬레이션 분석 사례 (Simulation Analysis for a Partial Appointment System of Outpatients in a Private Clinic)

  • 환자의 대기시간은 의료시스템의 서비스품질을 결정하는 중요한 요소이다. 개인병원의 경우 아직 환자 예약제가 보편적이지 않다. 예약제는 환자들을 시간적으로 분산시킴으로써 환자의 대기시간을 감소시킬 것으로 기대된다. 본 논문에서는 세 가지 예약규칙을 제안하고 시뮬레이션 기법을 이용하여 예약환자와 비예약환자의 대기시간을 비교분석한다. 시뮬레이션 결과 분석을 통해 예약자 할당 슬롯의 길이가 60분일 때보다 30분일 때 환자의 대기시간이 짧게 나타났음을 보여준다. ANOVA 분석을 통해 예약자 할당수준 1에서 비예약 환자의 경우는 일정패턴 규칙에서 예약 환자의 경우에는 지그재그패턴 규칙에서 평균대기 시간이 짧게 나타나고 있음을 보인다.
