가상현실을 이용한 실시간 차량 그래픽 주행 시뮬레이터 (A Real-Time Graphic Driving Simulator Using Virtual Reality Technique)

  • Driving simulators provide engineers with a power tool in the development and modification stages of vehicle models. One of the most important factors to realistic simulations is the fidelity obtained by a motion bed and a real-time visual image generation algorithm. Virtual reality technology has been widely used to enhance the fidelity of vehicle simulators. This paper develops the virtual environment for such visual system as head-mounted display for a vehicle driving simulator. Virtual vehicle and environment models are constructed using the object-oriented analysis and design approach. Based on the object model, a three-dimensional graphic model is completed with CAD tools such as Rhino and Pro/ENGINEER. For real-time image generation, the optimized IRIS Performer 3D graphics library is embedded with the multi-thread methodology. The developed software for a virtual driving simulator offers an effective interface to virtual reality devices.

고속 SoC 검증을 위한 자동 가상 플랫폼 생성 (Automatic Virtual Platform Generation for Fast SoC Verification)

  • 본 논문에서는 가상 플랫폼을 이용하여 빠르고 효과적으로 시스템을 검증하기 위한 추상레벨의 자동생성에 대하여 제안한다. 추상레벨 가상 플랫폼은 효과적인 검증 방법이긴 하지만 시스템이 변경될 때마다 가상 플랫폼을 재생성하고 추가적인 설계/검증을 요구되며 이 작업은 매우 많은 시간을 요구한다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 CPU, 메모리, UART 등을 기본적인 요소로 구성하여 추상레벨의 라이브러리로 생성하였다. 이 라이브러리를 이용하여 가상 플랫폼을 자동 생성하는 툴을 개발하였다. 이 툴은 임베디드 RTOS를 구성하는 가상 플랫폼을 자동 생성하며 HW/SW 간의 통신을 위한 메모리 맵과 디바이스 드라이버 등도 생성한다. 제안한 방법은 JPEG과 H.264에 성공적으로 적용하였으며 기존의 수동 작업에 비하여 매우 빠르게 가상 플랫폼을 자동 생성할 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 자동화설비에서 가장 많이 사용되는 근접센서와 실린더를 기준으로 두 가지 모델을 적용하여 "고장허용 시스템 구축"에 관한 연구를 진행하였다. Free Flow 컨베이어 상에서 센서의 고장발생 시 가상센서모드 (Virtual Sensor Mode)로 전환되어 정상동작 하는 것을 시뮬레이션을 통해 구현을 하였으며, 실린더의 내압(압력강하)을 이용하여 실린더의 동작 시 부하에 따른 아날로그 데이터변화를 확인함으로써 고장허용 시스템을 다양하게 적용할 수 있는 토대를 마련하였다. 이러한 방법은 실린더의 수명예상은 물론 Grease 주입예상시기와 실린더의 불량유무판단 등 개발자의 능력에 따라 여러 가지 응용이 가능할 것이라 생각된다.

  • Virtual Acoustic Field Simulation System (VFASS) has been developed through soundscape technique research for making comfortable acoustic environment in urban public places. This system could suggest Introducing sounds which are suitable for certain area, Also this system gives certain area vitalities and amenity through with the correspondence to time, temperature, humidity, wind velocity and sunshine of the area.   • In this paper, it is about virtual PMU and FEP are developed for developing the WAMAC(Wide Area Monitoring and Contorol) Test-Bed System. The Virtual PMU and FEP can be test in the WAMAC testbed for fully pretesting before developing WAMAC system. In the case studies, sever CPU tested the memory by the virtual PMUs and WAMAC Test-Bed syetem design is showed by using the virtual PMU and FEP.

  • Haptic interface apparatus is the device which can offer users virtual reality not only by visualization of virtual space but also by force or tactile feedback. In this paper, we designed and fabricated a 2D haptic interface device that can be used for various purposes, and implemented a virtual air-hockey system that users can easily find in game rooms. By suitable modeling and haptic rendering, users can feel the impact and the reaction force with his/her hand holding the handle through 2D haptic interface device when he/she hit an air-hockey puck with the handle. Through the trial demonstration. we observed the reasonable effect of direction and speed of a ball like doing in reality.

파워숄더 재킷의 실루엣에 따른 가상착의 재현 (Reproducibility of Virtual Power Shoulder Jacket by Silhouette Variation)

  • This study aims to verify the sewing technology and the expression of the virtual garment program by comparing the appearance similarity between the real and the virtual power shoulder jacket. To this end, the H and the X silhouettes of the power shoulder jacket were selected as the reference designs. After making the reference designs into real jackets by applying the human body dimensions of women in their twenties, virtual avatars and jackets were produced using CLO 3D programs. The results showed that the H-type with only expanded shoulders and less design variation had a high similarity between the reference photo and real garment, the real and virtual garment, and the reference photo and virtual garment. The power shoulder jacket of the reference picture was well reproduced in the real and virtual garments. Conversely, the X-type jacket, which is a tight fit and has many design variations, showed somewhat low similarity in the circumference items and the basic construction line. Especially in tight-fitted power shoulder jackets, the fact that shoulder angles and the essential items for pattern making cannot be reflected in reproducing virtual models was found to be a limitation in increasing the similarity of virtual clothing. Furthermore, the sewing system gap between the real and the virtual clothing exposed a difference in the appearance of virtual clothing.

  • This paper considers factory simulation based on shipbuilding CIM in which a computer integrated design and manufacturing system is considered. The author proposes the product model and several alterative functions for designing ship's structure, and develop a ship definition system for computer integrated design and manufacturing. This implemented system is called SODAS (System Of Design and Assembly for Shipbuilding). Object oriented concept is used to develop this system. As well as the product model, the design function cutting function, and virtual assembling function are introduced. By using the design function, any type of ship's structure can be designed. And also factory simulation can be carried out by using the cutting function and virtual assembling function.

A Design Procedure for Safety Simulation System Using Virtual Reality

  • One of the objectives of any task design is to provide a safe and helpful workplace for the employees. The safety and health module may include means for confronting the design with safety and health regulations and standards as well as tools for obstacles and collisions detection (such as error models and simulators), Virtual Reality is a leading edge technology which has only very recently become available on platforms and at prices accessible to the majority of simulation engineers. The design of an automated manufacturing system is a complicated, multidisciplinary task that requires involvement of several specialists. In this paper, a design procedure that facilitates the safety and ergonomic considerations of an automated manufacturing system are described. The procedure consists of the following major steps. Data collection and analysis of the data, creation of a three-dimensional simulation model of the work environment, simulation for safety analysis and risk assessment, development of safety solutions, selection of the preferred solutions, implementation of the selected solutions, reporting, and training. When improving the safety of an existing system the three-dimensional simulation model helps the designer to perceive the work from operators point of view objectively and safely without the exposure to hazards of the actual system.
