Effective Screening Method for Viviparous Germination of Rice

  • The viviparity of 28 rice varieties was tested at 25 days after heading(DAH), 35DAH, and 45DAH in the laboratory and field condition for 12 days. The incubation temperature was 20/l$0^{\circ}C$ (day/night), 25/15$^{\circ}$C$ and 30/20$^{\circ}$C$ in the laboratory test, and under field water conditions in the field test. The biggest varietal difference of viviparity was found in the laboratory test when examined at 45DAH with the 6-day incubation under 25/15$^{\circ}$C$ . At this conditions the mean viviparous ratio was 32.1 % with the range of 53.9 and the variance of 259.5. In the field test, the significant varietal difference in the viviparity was also found in the lodging treatment at 45 DAH for 6 days. Correlation coefficient analysis between the field and laboratory tests was highly significant from 4 days after incubation at 45 DAH and after 6-day incubation at 35 DAH, and correlation coefficient was higher as incubation days in the laboratory and submerged days under field water became longer. Considering the correlation between the field and laboratory tests, varietal difference of viviparity and convenience of testing, the laboratory test at 45 DAH for 6-day incubation under 25/15$^{\circ}$C$ was the most efficient evaluation method for the viviparity of rice cultivar.

Designs and Comparison of Step and Constant-Stress ALTs for Acceleration Factor and Lognormal Lifetime Distributions

  • This paper considers designing the simple (2-level) constant-and step-stress ALTs minimizing the asymptotic variance of the maximum likelihood estimator of the accelaeration factor, which is defined as the ratio of the 100qth percentile at use stress to that a specified stress, for items having lognormally-distributed lives. It is assumed that (i) the log-linear relationship exists between the stress and the mean log life, (ii) the standard deviation of the log life is constant, and (iii) the cumulative exposure model holds for the effect of changing stress. For the constant-stress ALT the low stress and the sample proportion allocated to low stress are determined and for two modes of stress loading of step-stress ALTs, the low-to-high and high-to-low, the low stress and the stress change time are determined. For selected values of the design parameters the optimum plans are figured, two modes of step-stress ALTs and the constant-stress ALT are compared to each other, and the effects of the incorrect pre-estimates of the design parameters are investigated.

A PERMUTATION APPROACH TO THE BEHRENS-FISHER PROBLEM

  • We propose a permutation approach to the classic Behrens-Fisher problem of comparing two means in the presence of unequal variances. It is motivated by the observation that a paired test is valid whether or not the variances are equal. Rather than using a single arbitrary pairing of the data, we average over all possible pairings. We do this in both a parametric and nonparametric setting. When the sample sizes are equal, the parametric version is equivalent to referral of the unpaired t-statistic to a t-table with half the usual degrees of freedom. The derivation provides an interesting representation of the unpaired t-statistic in terms of all possible pairwise t-statistics. The nonparametric version uses the same idea of considering all different pairings of data from the two groups, but applies it to a permutation test setting. Each pairing gives rise to a permutation distribution obtained by relabeling treatment and control within pairs. The totality of different mean differences across all possible pairings and relabelings forms the null distribution upon which the p-value is based. The conservatism of this procedure diminishes as the disparity in variances increases, disappearing completely when the ratio of the smaller to larger variance approaches 0. The nonparametric procedure behaves increasingly like a paired t-test as the sample sizes increase.

Bioavailability Evaluation of Two Ceftriaxone Formulations Using Two Way Crossover Design in Voluteers

  • For the vioequivalence study of two ceftriaxone injection formulations ($Rocephin{\circledR}$ ; Roche, and Triaxone ; Hanmi0, the HPLC analytical method for the analysis of ceftriaxone in plasma was used. Fourteen healthy volunteers completed the study and each subject were IM in jected signle doses (1 g) of the test and the reference formulations in a two-way crossover design with an one week drug free interval between doses. Following each administration, plasma concentrations of ceftrixone were monitored over a period of 24 h. Bioequivalence parameters $AUC_{24th}, {\;}T_{max}, {\;}C_{max}$ and MRT determined from the data obtained for the two formulations were examined by analyses of variance (ANOVA) and other criteria and tests for bioequivalence. Results of ANOVA and confidence limits of test/reference ratios of $AUC_{24th}, {\;}T_{max}, {\;}C_{max}$ and MRT, and statistical tests indicated the bioequivalence of the two formulations (i.e., test/reference ratio was within $100{\pm}20%$) except for $T_{max}$ The mean of $T_{max}$ showed only 6. 9% difference from the reference but the detection limit was 22.5% which is slightly over the 20% criteria. No pharmacokinetic parameters including Ka, Kel, Vd and Cl indicated significant difference in between the two fomulations. It was concluded that the data yielded fro the two cefriaxone formulations demonstrated that they were bioequivalent.

  • 본 논문에서는 ATM 고속위성 버스트 모뎀에 적합한 동기 요소기술과 개선방안을 사용하여 수신기를 설계하고 AWGN 채널 환경하에서 제반 연동평가를 수행하였다. 또한 프리앰블의 진행에 따라 각 동기부가 동작하는 과정을 평균과 분산특성을 이용하여 제시하고 수렴확률을 통해 복조기의 동작상태와 수렴여부를 판단하였다. 결론적으로 UW 검출기와의 연동을 통해 셀 손실율을 분석한 결과 본 논문에서 구현한 버스트 모드 TDMA 수신기는 보편적으로 요구되는 셀 손실율을 충분히 만족함을 알 수 있었다.

신생아중환자실 간호사의 업무 스트레스, 이직의도 및 소진에 관한 연구 (Work Stress, Turnover Intention and Burnout among Nurses in Neonatal Intensive Care Units)

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify differences in work environment, work stress, turnover intention and burnout and investigate the relationship among these variables in nurses in Korean Neonatal Intensive Care Units. Method: Participants were 242 nurses working in 13 general hospitals. Burnout was measured by the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), work stress with the instrument by Gu & Kim (1994), and turnover intention with the scale by Kim & Lee (2001). Size of the NICU, nurse to patient ratio, and communication satisfaction were included in work environment. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis with SPSS WIN program. Results: The mean score for work stress in NICU nurses was 3.43 points, for burnout, 2.72 points, and for turnover intention, 4.64 points. Burnout and turnover intention level of participants were moderate-high. Work stress, communication dissatisfaction with physician, and clinical career accounted for 33% of variance in burnout. Significant differences were found between size of NICU and staffing related to environmental characteristics in turnover intention and burnout. Conclusions: Results indicate that effective communication with coworkers and institutional support for appropriate staffing according to number of beds will help to prevent work stress, burnout, and ultimately, nurses' resignations.

Optimal Operation for Green Supply Chain Considering Demand Information, Collection Incentive and Quality of Recycling Parts

  • This study proposes an optimal operational policy for a green supply chain (GSC) where a retailer pays an incentive for collection of used products from customers and determines the optimal order quantity of a single product under uncertainty in product demand. A manufacturer produces the optimal order quantity of product using recyclable parts with acceptable quality levels and covers a part of the retailer's incentive from the recycled parts. Here, two scenarios for the product demand are assumed as: the distribution of product demand is known, and only both mean and variance are known. This paper develops mathematical models to find how order quantity, collection incentive of used products and lower limit of quality level for recycling affect the expected profits of each member and the whole supply chain under both a decentralized GSC (DGSC) and an integrated GSC (IGSC). The analysis numerically compares the results under DGSC with those under IGSC for each scenario of product demand. Also, the effect of the quality of the recyclable parts on the optimal decisions is shown. Moreover, supply chain coordination to shift the optimal decisions of IGSC is discussed based on: I) profit ratio, II) Nash bargaining solution, and III) Combination of (I) and (II).

  • 본 논문에서는 UWB 펄스 신호를 주파수 성분으로 분리해서 수 MHz정도의 ADC로 디지털 구현이 가능한 새로운 구조의 TR-UWB 시스템의 성능을 수학적으로 분석한 후 기존 시스템과 이론적으로 비교한다. TR-UWB 신호의 주파수 변환 특성 및 복소수 성분들의 평균, 분산 값을 유도하여 이를 활용한 이론적인 SNR 계산을 통해 시스템 성능을 분석하고 SNR 비 관점에서 기존 시스템과의 성능을 비교한다. 모의 실험에서는 AWGN 환경과 IEEE 802.15.3a의 다중경로 채널 환경에서의 BER을 통해 제시한 TR-UWB 시스템의 성능이 기존 시스템보다 우수함을 보인다.

  • 열중성자로의 무작위 중성자 특성을 PC로써 측정하는 체계를 개발하고 이를 한국에너지연구소의 TRIGA Mark-II 원자로에 응용하였다. 그 결과 이 체계는 재래의 여러 방법에 비하여 많은 장점을 가지고 있음을 확인하였다. 아직은 한개의 계측기를 사용하였고, 즉발중성자만 고려한 시간 영역에 대하여 autocorrelation과 VTMR 두가지 방법으로 분석하였다. 두 방법의 결과는 서로 잘 일치하였으나 통계적인 신뢰도 면에서는 VTMR이 훨씬 나았고, 특히 임계 근처에서 이것이 두드러졌다. TRIGA Mark-II의 $\beta$/Λ 는 임계에서 -3$까지는 약 125/초, -4$이하에서는 약 150/초로 측정되었다.

느티나무 18개 집단의 엽 형질 변이 (Variation of leaf morphology among 18 populations of Zelkova serrata Mak.)

  • 느티나무를 용재자원으로 육성하기 위한 연구의 일환으로 전국 18개 집단에 대한 엽 형질 변이를 조사하였다. 엽신장, 엽폭 등 14개 엽 형질을 조사한 결과, 모든 측정형질에서 집단 간 및 집단 내 개체 간에 고도로 유의한 차이가 있는 것을 확인하였으며 특히, 최대 엽폭까지의 길이(x3)와 최대 엽폭까지의 길이/엽신장(x10)은 집단 내 개체 간 보다 집단 간의 변이가 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 집단별로 보면 측정형질에 따라 차이가 있지만 평균적으로 구례, 정읍, 경주 집단의 변이가 컸으며 영월, 청송, 영천 집단은 변이가 작은 편이었다. 엽 형질간의 상관을 분석한 결과, 엽 크기 관련 형질들 간에는 상관이 높았으나 엽형지수간에는 상관이 낮았다. 환경요인과의 상관을 분석한 결과, 최대 엽폭까지의 길이(x3)와 최대 엽폭까지의 길이/엽신장(x10)는 위도, 해발고와 유의한 정의 상관을 나타냈는데 이는 집단별 연평균 기온의 차이가 반영된 것으로 보인다. 한편, 연평균 강수량은 엽신장(x1), 엽폭(x2), 엽두에서 첫 번째 거치까지의 길이(x5) 및 엽면적(x8)과 낮은 부의 상관을 나타냈는데 조사대상 집단들이 대부분 계곡부에 위치하고 있기 때문에 강수량이 많을 경우 잎 발달에 부정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 판단된다. 주성분 분석을 통해 고유값 1.0이상으로 의미를 갖는 4개 주성분을 도출하였는데 전체 분산에 대한 설명력은 88.5%였다. 제1주성분은 엽면적(x8), 제2주성분은 최대 엽폭까지의 길이(x3), 제3주성분은 거치수(x6), 제4 주성분은 엽병장(x4)의 기여도가 가장 높았다. 유집분석 결과, 느티나무 집단은 크게 두 개의 분지군으로 나뉘었는데 이는 분지군 간의 연평균기온의 차이가 반영된 결과로 보인다. 그러나 동일 분지군 내 집단들의 유집 결과에서는 지리적 거리 또는 환경구배에 따른 경향성이 나타나지 않았다.
