The questionnaires were collected from September to December, 2002 by a trained nurse. Self reports, interviews, and observations were used. Data were analyzed with frequencies, percentages, means, Pearson correlation coefficients, ANOVA, and Scheffe post test using the SPSS/PC 9.0. Result: The score for awareness of information was 17.46, state anxiety was 47.26, emotional distress during exam was 2.90, behavioral distress was 11.18, and perceived value of information was 4.21, Clients aged above 60 showed significantly lower awareness of information than other groups. Clients undergoing broncoscopy reported significantly higher emotional distress during the ekam than subjects for colonoscopy. Clients undergoing gastroscopy showed significantly higher behavioral distress than any of the others. There were no relationships between awareness of information and anxiety, but, a significant positive relationship was found between anxiety and emotional distress during exam, between emotional distress and behavioral distress, and between awareness of information and perceived value of information. Conclusion: Awareness of information by the clients through provision of an educational booklet was low, and clients showed moderate level of state anxiety. Research studies are needed to compare providing information with other interventions for comfortable progress of endoscopic examinations. Especially specific strategies should be established for elderly clients to facilitate awareness of information.

  • In this paper, we proposed the next generation mobile convergence service business model creation methodology. In order to establish such a business model creation methodology framework, we first introduce the service model based on our previous research results on next generation mobile convergence services. The service model contains several components such as infrastructures, operations, and provision of services that are indispensible for providing the next generation mobile services. Finally, by adding service and value flows to the developed service model, we propose the next generation mobile services business model creation methodology. To achieve this objective, we first derive necessary components of business model including actors, their relationships, and roles. In addition, we propose service composition methodology for creating new mobile services and its corresponding business models.

  • Expanding product variety and high customer service provision place an enormous burden on demand forecasting and the matching of supply with demand in a supply chain. Postponement of product differentiation has been found to be powerful means to improve supply chain performance in the presence of increasing product variety. Delaying the point of product differentiation implies that the process would not commit the work-in-process into a particular finished product until a later point. This paper reviews the recent analytical models that quantify the value of delayed product differentiation. We conclude the literature review by summarizing and synthesizing the economic evaluation of the postponement and outline directions for future research.

  • Electronic commerce has already existed for over 20 years. In sectors such as retail and automotive, electronic data interchange(EDI) for application-to-application interaction is being used regularly. For defence and heavy manufacturing, electronic commerce life-cycle management concepts have been developed that aim to integrate information across larger parts of the value chain, from design to maintenance, such as CALS(Computer Assisted Life-cycle Support or Computer Aided Logistics Support). Bolero's mission is to provide guaranteed and secure delivery, in electronic form, of trade documentation, globally, based on a binding legal environment and common procedures. Bolero will also provide a platform for provision of neutral cross-industry services.

  • The success of gCRM depends on the availability of adequate, real-time data about customers' location and the provision of diverse value-added services utilizing it. In the existing gCRM systems, however, it seems that the positional precision of customers' location is very low, and further that the services based on real-time location data are not provided. In order to overcome these weaknesses and extend the limited scope of gCRM, we suggest a new design of gCRM system integrated with LBS. We also describe in some detail the system prototype for such an integration.
