A Study on the Effect of HMD VR Technology on Design Application: Focusing on 3DEXPERIENCE Platform VR (HMD VR 기술이 디자인 활용에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 3DEXPERIENCE 플랫폼의 VR을 중심으로)

  • Recently, companies are growing by introducing rational and optimized technology for all processes, including design. In particular, the emergence of ICT-based cloud platforms has given rise to solutions that are equipped with all the necessary business services in corporations and schools, affecting technical education and corporate growth that have not been experienced thus far. The virtual reality technology and convergence of HMD devices utilizing this platform is a new turning point in corporate development. Therefore, this study tested the VR functions used in design based on 3DEXP and HMD VR devices. Second, design utilization and this issue were examined through a survey based on the experimental data. The results showed that 3DEXP and HMD VR technologies are closely related in terms of design utilization and have demonstrated their mediated effects through statistical analysis. Nevertheless, it is not enough to generalize some engineering students as a result of the study. On the other hand, the introduction of HMD VR technology is one of the pillars of education and the implementation of virtual reality technology.

  • 본 논문에서는 예비유아교사를 위한 VR·AR 활용한 수업 모형에 관한 연구이다. 최근 4차산업혁명시대를 맞아 유아교육 분야에서 디지털교육 등 다양한 기술을 활용한 활동에 관한 요구는 많이 있으나 예비유아교사 및 유아에게 새로운 IT기술을 활용하여 누리과정 연계 및 놀이중심 활동을 적용하는 데에는 많은 어려움이 있다. 왜냐하면 최신 기술을 유아들의 활동에 접목하려면 IT 기술 이해와 경험 뿐 만 아니라 유아에 대한 발달수준, 누리과정에 대한 이해, 놀이중심 교육과정 등에 대한 심도있는 융합이 필요하기 때문이다. 따라서 본 연구에서 VR·AR 활용한 수업 모형으로 예비유아교사를 교육함과 동시에 이를 통해 유아들에게 다양한 체험과 놀이가 가능한 활동을 제안하고자 한다. 이는 최신 멀티미디어기술로써 VR·AR 활용하므로 예비유아교사 및 유아들에게 융복합적인 교육효과를 줄 수 있으므로 유아교육분야에 기여하는 바가 크다.

A Study on the Recognition and Development of Skin Care Subjects Using VR (VR 활용 피부미용 교과목 인식과 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, in order to secure an educational environment for the development of skin beauty subjects using VR based on the learners' awareness of VR, a total of 105 learners' perception of VR, VR experience elements, and the development of VR-using skin beauty subjects, questions about general characteristics were conducted using an online questionnaire. As a result of the survey through frequency analysis, factor analysis, and correlation analysis, the higher the awareness of VR, the higher the educational performance and immersion (p<.01). It was found that awareness and interest were high (p<.001). As for the correlation, the higher the VR-using skin care experience factor, the higher the perception of VR-using skin beauty course development. Therefore, it was confirmed that it is necessary to develop and educate skin beauty subjects using VR in line with learners' expectations and the 4th industrial revolution era. Therefore, in follow-up studies, it is considered that it is necessary to develop and operate VR-based skin beauty subjects.

  • In today's modern fashion industry, along with the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the digital fashion industry using new technologies such as AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality), and Metaverse is gradually expanding. Accordingly, in the field of fashion design education, a new form of fashion illustration using VR technology is attracting attention as a new expression method. Recently, the use of digital tools such as iPads is gradually increasing in the field of education at universities majoring in fashion design, and students' interest in new digital tools is continuously increasing in the process of fashion illustration work. Therefore, this study implements fashion illustration using VR technology, which has been commercialized and popularized in the fashion industry, analyzes the differentiated characteristics compared to fashion illustration completed with iPad, and explores the possibility of using VR technology for fashion illustration as a new expression tool. We looked at the limitations. Through this study, it was found that VR is a positive help to fashion illustration to express the conception and overall connectivity in the three-dimensional aspect of fashion design, and the iPad was found to be suitable for specific and delicate fashion illustration expression. The results of this study are intended to provide basic data for fashion illustration education that can increase students' interest and achievement.

  • This study examines the possibility of chronic brain disease rehabilitation treatment using VR/AR technology and raises the research need for the development of digital therapeutics. In addition, by proposing a digital therapeutic research and development process this study intends to contribute to the development of VR/AR rehabilitation treatment. To this end, this study identified research trends of VR/AR technology, neurophysiology, and chronic brain disease and proposed a method for applying VR/AR technology to treat chronic brain disease patients in three stages. The first stage is to prepare a neurophysiological basis for rehabilitation treatment of brain disease patients using VR technology. The second stage is to provide a treatment method using VR/AR technology and systematize the contents characteristics. The third stage is to conduct clinical trails and validate that the treatment method and contents utilization is effective for the patient. It is hope that this study serves as a guide for developing media production base technology for treating patient with a chronic brain disease.

  • The Republic of Korea Army (ROK Army) is currently developing the Army Synthetic Battle Training System (ASBTS) by 2026 and will use it to advance division-level LVC integrated training. This study proposes a way to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of training by applying VR/AR technology to the ASBTS. To this end, we analyzed cases of VR/AR technology use in the defense field in advanced countries and the ROK military. As a result, we confirmed that the effectiveness and efficiency of training can be improved when the training system is converted to an immersive system. Accordingly, we selected and presented defense training subjects to be applied to VR/AR technology, considered the development direction for applying VR/AR technology to the ASBTS, and proposed a way to apply VR/AR technology to the ASBTS.

  • Metaverse is the most emerging technology due to the recent 4th industry and the non-face-to-face society of Corona 19. As one of the core technologies of Metaverse, VR·AR technology is being industrialized in various fields such as medical care, education, and service. Among them, education and training are the most important fields of application, and nuclear power plant operation also requires this technology. In this paper, we will look at the fields of application of VR·AR technology in existing industries and suggest a plan for use in nuclear power plant work.

VR 규제의 현황과 개선 방향 - VR 콘텐츠 규제를 중심으로 -

  • VR 기술 및 활용에 대한 다양한 연구와 장밋빛 전망에도 불구하고, 현재 우리 법 제도는 VR 산업 활성화의 걸림돌이 되는 규제들을 완전히 제거하지 못한 상태이다. 특히, 의료 및 게임 분야에서 VR 콘텐츠의 특수성을 고려한 맞춤형 규제설계가 필요하다. 먼저, 현행 규제상 의료용 VR 콘텐츠 및 소프트웨어는 의료기기 수입 제조허가와 신의료기술평가를 모두 거쳐야 하는데, 특히 신의료기술평가의 경우에는 의료용 VR 콘텐츠 및 소프트웨어에 대한 대비가 충분하지 않아 이의 활용에 상당한 장애가 될 수 있다. 그러므로 정부가 가이드라인 등 적절한 해석기준을 통해 의료기기의 범위를 불필요하게 확대하지 않도록 하고, 아울러 신의료기술평가에 있어 '선 진입, 후 평가' 제도를 활용할 수 있도록 개선이 요구된다. 다음으로, 게임의 경우에는 현행 게임산업법상 게임물의 정의가 너무 광범위하여 양방향성이 있는 VR 콘텐츠들이 게임물로 분류되어 불필요한 규제를 받을 가능성이 있으며, 여기에 더하여 최근 세계보건기구에서 '게임 이용 장애'를 국제질병분류에 포함시킴으로써 추가 규제에 대한 우려까지 더해지고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서는 법제처가 최근 발표한 "적극행정 법제 가이드라인"의 취지에 맞게 정부가 게임물 규제의 범위를 적극적으로 축소 해석하거나, 이러한 규제의 예외를 정하는 고시 또는 가이드라인을 제정할 필요가 있다. 또한, 현재 시행 중인 'ICT 규제 샌드박스' 제도를 잘 활용하고, 이와 별도로 국제질병분류의 국내 수용에 대해서도 보다 신중하게 접근할 필요가 있을 것이다.

Utilization of VR Immersive Content for Self-Directed Learning (VR 실감형 콘텐츠를 활용한 학생주도학습 활용사례)

  • With the 4th Industrial Revolution, VR/AR technology is developing, and since COVID-19, the use of VR/AR technology is increasing and is being used in various environments. In particular, AR technology can be used in various educational fields and the perception of VR in the educational field and learning satisfaction, problem-solving ability, and self-directed learning ability when using VR were analyzed. It was analyzed that perception of VR and learning satisfaction had a significant correlation at the significance level of 0.001, and problem-solving competency had a significant correlation between learning satisfaction and self-directed learning ability at the significance level of 0.05.

An Method of Viewport Prediction and Bitrate Allocation based on Angle Information in 360 VR Contents (각도정보 기반 360 VR 콘텐츠 내 사용자 시점예측기법 및 비트율 할당 방법)

  • 360 VR 콘텐츠는 기존의 선형적인 일반 영상에 비해 사용자에게 더 많은 정보와 높은 몰입감을 제공할 수 있어 의학, 군사, 교육, 게임 등 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있다. 최근에는 모바일 기기의 성능 향상과 통신기술의 발달에 힘입어 모바일 네트워크를 사용한 360 VR 콘텐츠 소비가 증가하는 추세이다. 모바일 네트워크는 대역폭이 한정적이고 가변적인 특성이 있어 이를 통해 용량이 큰 360 VR 콘텐츠 전송 시 초기 접속 지연 및 재생 끊김이 발생하여 사용자의 만족도를 감소시킬 수 있다. 이에 본 논문은 위에 언급한 문제를 해결하기 위해 360 VR 콘텐츠 전송 시 전체 요구대역폭을 감소시키고 사용자 초기 접속 속도를 향상시키는 것을 목표로, 360 VR 콘텐츠의 지오메트리 값과 사용자의 요(i.e. yaw)값을 활용하여 각도 기반으로 사용자의 현재 시점에 해당하는 타일을 확인하고 해당 타일에 높은 비트율을 할당하는 방법 및 웹 기반 전송에 대해 연구 개발하였다. 이를 위하여 웹 기반 3D 렌더링 API 인 WebVR API, HTTP Adaptive Streaming 기술의 표준 MPEG-DASH의 dash.js API를 활용하여 개발하고, 성능 확인 실험을 통해 요구대역폭 감소, 클라이언트 접속 속도 향상을 제시한다.
