Riblet 홈을 가진 원주의 저항감소에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Drag Reduction of Grooved Cylinders)

  • Wake structures behind two circular cylinders with different groove configurations(U and V-shape) have been investigated experimentally. The results were compared with those for the smooth cylinder having the same diameter D. The drag force, mean velocity and turbulent intensity profiles of wake behind the cylinders were measured with varying the Reynolds number in the range of Re(sub)D=8,000∼14,000. As a result, the U-shaped groove was found to reduce the drag up to 18.6%, but the V-shaped groove reduced drag force only 2.5% compared with the smooth cylinder. As the Reynolds number increases, the vortex shedding frequency becomes a little larger than that of the smooth cylinder. The visualized flow using the smoke-wire and particle tracing methods shows the flow structure qualitatively.

Biological, Physical and Cytological Properties of Pepper mottle virus-SNU1 and Its RT-PCR Detection

  • A strain of Pepper mottle virus (PepMov) was isolated from chili pepper plants in Korea. In host range study, this virus, designated PepMoV-SNU1, shared most characteristics with PepMoV isolates reported previously. Thermal inactivation point ($45^{\circ}C\;to\;75^{\circ}C$) and dilution end point ($10^{-1}\;to\;10^{-4}$) of PepMoV-SNU1 showed differences depending on the propagation hosts. Cylindrical and pinwheel-shaped inclusions were always observed in pepper leaf tissues infected with the virus alone. Unexpectedly, a special structure of pinwheel shaped inclusion surrounded with unknown small spots was also observed in the leaf section when co-infected with a strain of pepper mild mottle virus. The partial sequence of coat protein gene and 3' untranslated region of PepMoV-SNU1 showed 98% identity with those of other PepMoV isolates. A primer pair derived from 3' end of the coat protein gene and poly A tail regions were designed. Optimal detection condition of PepMoV-SNU1 by RT-PCR was tested to determine appropriate annealing temperature and additional volumes of oligo-dT (18-mer), dNTP, and Taq polymerase. Under the optimized condition, an expected 500 Up PCR-product was detected in pepper leaves infected with PepMoV-SNU1 but not in healthy plants.

공동주택의 배치유형에 따른 창호 시스템의 채광특성 (Daylighting Performance of Refurbished Window System based on Site Plans in Recently-Planned Apartment Houses)

  • Though they have advantages in terms of aesthetic in modern architecture, however, rectangular-shaped towers causes being short of natural light due to deep interior space. There are compromised attempts to take advantages of each building shape selectively. As a result, we now witness the advent of Y-shaped, T-shaped, V-shaped and ㅈ-shaped buildings on the market. The mutative type of apartment houses usually faces southwest or southeast, which has lot of daylighting availability but anyhow, the proportion of the apartment houses which have a full south aspect. The need to verify the potential of daylighting in new building-block shapes exists. At the same time, the expansion of balcony area was legalized and thus, a visual buffer area does not exist any more. All-glass window wall on apartment houses without a balcony produces pretty harmful area with direct sunbeam. Recently, the refurbished version of conventional windows has been developed for the purposed of minimizing energy loss occurred around windows. This research initialized a series of research to deal with almost all on window wall for apartment houses. First of all, huge amount of already-designed examples of apartment houses have been analyzed in terms of floor plan, elevation, orientation and glazing materials.

접착 보강된 노치 균열판의 응력확대계수 산정을 위한 비등매개변수 모델 기반의 3차원 가상균열닫힘법 (Three-Dimensional Virtual Crack Closure Technique Based on Anisoparametric Model for Stress Intensity Factors of Patch Repaired Plates with Cracks at Notches)

  • 본 논문에서는 V형 노치 및 반원형 노치 균열을 갖는 패치보강 적층판의 응력확대계수 산정을 위하여 수치해석적 방법을 사용한다. p-수렴 비등매개변수 모델이 고려되고, 이와 같은 비등매개변수 모델의 결과를 활용한 3차원 가상균열닫힘법에 대한 식이 표현된다. 1차원 로바토 함수로부터 확장된 3차원 계층적 형상함수를 가지고서, 임의의 요소에서의 변위장의 변위-변형률 관계와 3차원 구성방정식이 표현된다. 원형경계의 기하형상을 나태내기 위해 초유한사상기법을 사용한다. 응력집중계수, 응력분포, 자유도, 그리고 무차원 응력확대계수 등의 항목에 대해서, 제안된 모델의 정확도와 단순성이 기존의 결과들과의 비교를 통해 설명된다. 균열 적층판의 폭, 높이, 노치근입부의 반경, V형 노치의 경사각, 균열길이 등의 변화에 따른 응력확대계수가 산정된다.

확대 채널에서 리브 배열이 열전달에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Rib Arrangement on Heat Transfer in the Divergent Channel)

  • The effects of the different rib geometries such as V-shaped continuous (case A), parallel broken (case B), and V-shaped broken (case C) ribs on the heat transfer and pressure drops in a divergent channel with $45^{\circ}$ inclined ribs on one wall or two walls are checked out. The top and bottom walls are adiabatic; two side walls are uniformly heated in the divergent rectangular channel. The tested Reynolds numbers are ranged from 22,000 to 75,000. The channel with two opposite walls inclined only has the length of test section of 1 m and the channel divergence ratio of $D_{ho}/D_{hi}=1.49$, corresponding to $1.43^{\circ}$ inclined walls. The results show in the identical pumping power that the V-shaped continuous rib (case A) with two ribbed walls is the greatest, but the parallel broken rib (case B) with one ribbed wall is the worst in the thermal performance.

EPD 방법을 이용한 알루미나-실리카 복합 코팅막의 제조와 전기절연 특성 (Preparation of Alumina-Silica Composite Coatings by Electrophoretic Deposition and their Electric Insulation Properties)

  • Alumina-silica composite coating layers were prepared by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) of plate-shaped alumina particles dispersed in a sol-gel binder, which was prepared by hydrolysis and the condensation reaction of methyltrimethoxysilane in the presence of colloidal silica. The microstructure and the electrical and thermal properties of the coatings were compared according to the EPD process parameter: voltage, time and the content of the plate-shaped alumina particles. The electrical insulation property of the coatings was measured by a voltage test. The coatings were prepared by EPD of the sol-gel binder with 5-30 wt% plate alumina particles on parallel electrodes at a distance of 2 cm for 1-10 min under an applied voltage of 10-30 V. The coatings experienced increased breakdown voltage with increasing thickness. However, the higher the thickness was, the smaller the breakdown voltage strength was. A breakdown voltage as high as 4.6 kV was observed with a $400{\mu}m$ thickness, and a breakdown voltage strength as high as 27 kV/mm was achieved for the sample under a $100{\mu}m$ thickness.

한지(韓紙) 엔드테이핑처리(處理)에 의한 진공건조(眞空乾燥)에서 원판(圓板)의 목공예적(木工藝的) 가치(價値) 증진 (Improvement of the Value for Technical Wood Arts of Disks by End-Taping with Korean Traditional Paper During Vacuum Drying)

  • End-matched disks of 7.7cm thickness were part-time dried in vacuum press dryer to investigate the drying characteristics by using drying schedules and end treatments. The ginkgo disks could be dried faster with severer end checks and ring failures by C schedule than by S schedule. There were no significant differences in drying rates and amounts of end checks, ring failures and V-shaped checks occurred between ginkgo disks end-taped with Korean traditional paper (KTP) and those untreated. The drying time of walnut disks was slightly reduced by end-taping with KTP. And the length of end checks and V-shaped checks and the frequency of defected disk were decreased more effectively than those untreated. The tangential strains and tangential drying stresses near bark sides of ginkgo and walnut disk untreated were developed in the early stage of drying and incresed slightly curvi-linearly above fiber saturation point (fsp) and more curvi-linearly below fsp. The influence of end-taping with KTP on the drying rate for impermeable walnut disk was stronger than that for permeable ginkgo disk.

힘평형법을 이용한 V-형다이 평면변형 자유형 단조공정의 초기변형 해석 (The Incipient Deformation Analysis for Plane Strain Open-Die Forging Processes with V-shaped Dies Using the Force Balance Method)

  • Force balance method is employed to predict forging information such as forging load, tool pressure and normal stress at the surface of tangential velocity discontinuity. The incipient stages of deformation for the plane strain forging of rectangular billets in V-shaped dies of different semi-angles are analysed. To construct an approximate model for the analysis of deformation by the force balance method in the incipient deformation stages, slip-line field is used. When the deformation mode by slip-line method is the same as that by force balance method, the slip-line method and the force balance method give identical solutions. The effects of die angle, coefficient of friction, billet geometries and deforma- tion characteristics are also investigated. In order to verify the validity of force balance analysis, the rigid-plastic finite element simulation for the various forgig parameters are performed and performed and find to be in good agreement.

Structural behavior of inverted V-braced frames reinforced with non-welded buckling restrained braces

  • A concentric braced steel frame is a very efficient structural system because it requires relatively smaller amount of materials to resist lateral forces. However, primarily developed as a structural system to resist wind loads based on an assumption that the structure behaves elastically, a concentric braced frame possibly experiences the deterioration in energy dissipation after brace buckling and the brittle failure of braces and connections when earthquake loads cause inelastic behavior. Consequently, plastic deformation is concentrated in the floor where brace buckling occurs first, which can lead to the rupture of the structure. This study suggests reinforcing H-shaped braces with non-welded cold-formed stiffeners to restrain flexure and buckling and resist tensile force and compressive force equally. Weak-axis reinforcing members (2 pieces) developed from those suggested in previous studies (4 pieces) were used to reinforce the H-shaped braces in an inverted V-type braced frame. Monotonic loading tests, finite element analysis and cyclic loading tests were carried out to evaluate the structural performance of the reinforced braces and frames. The reinforced braces satisfied the AISC requirement. The reinforcement suggested in this study is expected to prevent the rupture of beams caused by the unbalanced resistance of the braces.

고정식 교정장치 장착환자에서 슬림모 칫솔과 V형 교정칫솔 간의 구강위생관리 효과 비교 (Comparison of slim bristled and V-shaped orthodontic toothbrushes in patients with fixed orthodontic appliances)

  • 본 연구는 고정식 교정장치 장착환자에서 V형 교정칫솔과 비교하여 슬림모 칫솔의 구강위생관리 효과를 평가해보기 위해 시행되었다. 고정식 교정장치를 장착하여 치료를 받고 있는 환자 34명(평균연령 $21.9\;{\pm}\;7.5$세)을 대상으로 무작위로 슬림모 칫솔(Nano silver slim $care.34^{TM}$, Aiio, Seoul, Korea)을 사용한 군과 V형 교정칫솔(Oral-B Laboratories Ltd., P&G Korea, Seoul, Korea)을 사용한 군으로 구분한 후 연구시작 시(Baseline), 2주 후, 4주 후 및 6주 후에 걸쳐서 하나의 칫솔을 교환하지 않고 변형 바스법으로 하루 2회 2분씩 닦도록 하여 치태지수, 치은염지수 및 치은출혈지수를 측정하고 비교 분석하였다. 연구 결과 6주간의 실험기간에 걸쳐 슬림모 칫솔군과 V형 교정칫솔군 간에 치태지수, 치은염지수 및 치은출혈지수 모두 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 실험시기에 따른 변화에 대해서 두 칫솔군 모두 치태지수와 치은염지수는 연구시작 시를 기점으로 점차적으로 감소하여 4주 후에 저점을 보이고 6주 후에는 다시 상승하였고, 치은출혈지수의 경우는 V형 교정칫솔군의 경우 2주 후에 최저점을 보이다가 4주 후와 6주 후에는 점차적으로 상승하는 양상을 보인 반면 슬림모 치솔군의 경우 연구시작 시부터 6주 후까지 점차적으로 감소하는 양상을 보였다. 연령에 따른 두 칫솔군 간의 구강위생 관리 효과 비교에서 슬림모 칫솔군은 치태지수와 치은염 지수에서 20대가 10대에 비해 통계적으로 유의하게 작은 수치를 보였다 (p < 0.013). 이상의 연구 결과로 고정식 교정장치로 치료받는 환자에서 두 칫솔 모두 구강위생관리에 동일하게 효과적이었으나 20대 이상의 성인 교정환자에서 슬림모 칫솔이 V형 교정칫솔보다 치태제거 효과가 더 우수함을 보여 도움이 될 수 있음을 시사하였다.
