  • XCAP(XML Configuration Access Protocol) which has been proposed in IETF is based on both XML and HTTP protocol. XCAP server maintains user's configuration information for specific application which is described by XML. This protocol can be applied to many application servers for adapting user's preferences. There can be many way to interwork with other application servers. In this paper, we will talk about the experience of designing and implementation of XCAP server and the way of interwork with application servers.

A Design and Implementation of Needs Analysis System in Internet Shopping Mall (인터넷 쇼핑몰 니즈 분석 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • Even though users choose goods they want to buy in on-line shopping malls, real purchase is often performed in off-line shopping malls. It is called reverse showrooming. It means that users' analysis of goods based on images and description of internet shopping malls has limitation. Thus, large-scale online shopping malls provide a customized shopping information. However, in that case, the provided information is a simple list of goods users bought or retrieved. Thus, a system to analyze various needs of users and apply the result into on-line shopping mall is necessary. In this paper, an analysis system is proposed. The system contains a module to analyze user defined preference and a module to analyze users' reviews. The former designates two goods and collects preferences of individual users. the latter analyzes reviews about purchased goods based on database dictionary stored in advance for analyzing reviews. The system implemented shows that it is possible to recommend some goods that meet each users's needs

User Preference and Workload Changes According to Information Visualization Methods (정보표현방식에 따른 사용자 호의도 및 업무부하량 변화)

  • Despite the wide range of information and engineering visualization techniques available, studies in investigating the effectiveness of the techniques in visualization has been rare. The typical visualization techniques were CAD, 2D and 3D computer graphics, and virtual environment (VE) that use 3D displays of 3D. space. The objects of this study is to analyze the user preferences and workload changes according to the visualization methods of engineering drawings such as 2D CAD, 2D computer graphics, 3D computer graphics, and augmented reality which is a variation of VEs. The results showed that users preferred 3D visualization techniques to 2D visualization techniques, though there were no workloads differences. Furthermore, the 3D perspective of AR which analogies the real world could facilitate the interpretation of engineering drawings.

Current Interior Design and User Preference for Child Care Facilities - Focused on Interior Atmosphere, Finishing Materials and Colors - (보육시설 실내디자인 현황과 사용자 선호성향 - 실내분위기, 마감재, 색채를 중심으로 -)

  • As Korea has undergone rapid modernization, urbanization and industrialization, women's social participation has increased. Accordingly, child care facilities have shown continuous growth in numbers. However, according to research, child care facilities in Korea lag behind those in other nations in terms of quality. Given that, it seem urgent to enhance the quality of child care facilities and improve their indoor environment. Above all, overall atmosphere, colors and finishing materials are connected directly with educational effects as well as feelings and health of facility users. This study assesses the current state of child care facilities and preferences by focusing primarily on interior atmosphere, materials and colors. For This Study, 7 facilities were surveyed, and 46 subjects were participated for this study. The findings suggest that "pretty" style is preferred to "natural" style. As regards flooring material, wood floor is preferred. It is recommended to lay pastel colored carpet or PVC flooring material to the wood floor. As for wall, it is desirable to divide the wall spaces by adding wood and painting to simple wallpapers. In case of the ceiling noise absorptive material is recommended to use instead of wallpapers. For the doors, it is desirable to use contrasting materials and colors given accessibility for children. In the meantime, rather than strong primary colors, soft color or pastel colors are desirable for furniture. This study has limitations because of insufficiency of case study samples. However, it is significant in that the study results may be used as primary source of information to improve the environment of child care facilities.

Personalized Recommendation Considering Item Confidence in E-Commerce (온라인 쇼핑몰에서 상품 신뢰도를 고려한 개인화 추천)

  • As online shopping malls continue to grow in popularity, various chances of consumption are provided to customers. Customers decide the purchase by exploiting information provided by shopping malls such as the reviews of actual purchasing users, the detailed information of items, and so on. It is required to provide objective and reliable information because customers have to decide on their own whether the massive information is credible. In this paper, we propose a personalized recommendation method considering an item confidence to recommend reliable items. The proposed method determines user preferences based on various behaviors for personalized recommendation. We also propose an user preference measurement that considers time weights to apply the latest propensity to consume. Finally, we predict the preference score of items that have not been used or purchased before, and we recommend items that have highest scores in terms of both the predicted preference score and the item confidence score.

Movie Recommendation System based on Latent Factor Model (잠재요인 모델 기반 영화 추천 시스템)

  • With the rapid development of the film industry, the number of films is significantly increasing and movie recommendation system can help user to predict the preferences of users based on their past behavior or feedback. This paper proposes a movie recommendation system based on the latent factor model with the adjustment of mean and bias in rating. Singular value decomposition is used to decompose the rating matrix and stochastic gradient descent is used to optimize the parameters for least-square loss function. And root mean square error is used to evaluate the performance of the proposed system. We implement the proposed system with Surprise package. The simulation results shows that root mean square error is 0.671 and the proposed system has good performance compared to other papers.

  • Global platforms such as Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube have developed a precise recommendation system based on various information from large set of customers and many of the items recommended here are leading to actual purchases. In this paper, a cluster analysis was conducted according to the attribute of the content, expecting that there would be a difference in user preferences according to the attribute of the recommended content. Gower distance was used for use regardless of the type of variables. In this paper, using the data of movie rating site 'The Movie Dataset', the users were grouped hierarchically and recommended movies based on genre, director and actor variables. To evaluate the recommended systems proposed, user group was divided into train set and test set to examine the precision. The results showed that proposed algorithms have far higher precision than UBCF.

  • As the number of objects connected to the Internet increases rapidly, intelligent device development projects are gradually expanding that provide direct value to humans, away from simple monitoring functions, including sensors and communication functions, or delivery to servers.It is expected that the device will develop a technology that analyzes surrounding sensing information and changes the surrounding environment in consideration of users' preferences or safety. By establishing a biosignal measurement system in a developed product that can bring various effects using air, it will be possible to grasp the user's condition through a pattern of change in pressure distribution when seated. This paper proposes a construction system that enhances the comfort of using an air car seat through contact between a temperature measurement sensor and a user, and enables effective management of measured biosignals by linking them with an air pump control system.

The classification of super app consumer for marketplace strategy - Focusing on the shopping orientations - (Super app marketplace 전략을 위한 소비자 유형화 - 쇼핑 성향을 중심으로 -)

  • This study aimed to categorize consumers using super app functional characteristics to identify demographic differences, and analyze shopping orientations by consumer type. This data can be used by fashion and beauty companies for product planning and marketing strategies. To categorize super app consumers, data were analyzed with SPSS v.26.0 software using frequency, factor, reliability K-mean cluster, and distributed analyses, one-way-ANOVAs, and Scheffe verification. Cross-analysis was conducted to correlate super app consumer types with demographic characteristics. One-way-ANOVAs and Scheffe verification were used to analyze the differences in shopping preferences between super app consumer groups. As a result of our analyses, super app consumers were classified into four types: the ration type, the low-use type, the multifunction type, and the habit type. There were statistically significant differences between these types in age, occupation, marital status, average monthly household income, and shopping impact factors. Five super app user shopping orientations were identified: brand pursuit, pleasure pursuit, trend pursuit, risk perception, and economic orientation. The differences in the preferred orientation between super app consumer types were found to be statistically significant. The majority of respondents were multifunction type consumers. This group used the super app most frequently and effectively. They also demonstrated the highest scores for all five of the shopping orientations. The classification of consumer types in this study will allow the fashion and beauty industries to utilize super apps for more targeted product design and marketing.

A Study on User Preference for Smart City Non-face-to-face Services: Focusing on the Cases of Sejong City and Busan City (스마트시티 비대면 서비스에 대한 이용자 선호도 연구: 세종시와 부산시 사례를 중심으로)

  • Smart cities are attracting attention as a new economic growth engine based on new technologies and means to solve side effects of urbanization such as a surge in energy consumption, deepening environmental pollution, and an increase in crime rates. In particular, as demand for non-face-to-face services increases due to COVID-19, the role of smart cities that can provide various online and offline non-face-to-face services is becoming more important. Therefore, this study defined smart city non-face-to-face services based on literature research on the concept and underlying technology of smart city, and analyzed consumer utility for each service using Conjoint analysis. In particular, differences in user preferences between Sejong City and Busan City, which are currently designated as national smart city pilot cities in Korea, were compared and analyzed, and based on the derived results, measures to improve the competitiveness of smart city services were suggested.
