A Design and Implementation of User Interaction-Oriented Integrated Virtual Education System (사용자간 상호작용 지향적 통합 가상교육시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • This paper introduces the method for a design and implementation of an integrated virtual education system WebClass which is based on the World Wide Web and maximizes the interaction among users. Existing virtual education systems did not provide a flexible integration of their functions as they included various interaction functions without user interaction models. We designed an user interaction model for supporting various instructional model and implemented user interfaces of WebClass based on the interaction model. Thus we developed an intergrated virtual education system that is based on user interaction model instead of amalgam of various interaction functions. WebClass support both synchronous and asynchronous sharing functions for user interactions. Our goal was to support and efficient virtual education by maximizing user interaction.

  • The rapid proliferation of wireless networks provides a ubiquitous channel for delivering instructional materials at the convenience of the user. By delivering content through portable devices linked to the Internet, the full spectrum of multimedia capabilities is available for engaging the user's interest. This capability encompasses not only text but images, video, speech generation and voice recognition. Moreover, the incorporation of machine learning capabilities at the source provides the ability to tailor the material to the general level of expertise of the user as well as the immediate needs of the moment: for instance, a request for information regarding a particular city might be covered by a leisurely presentation if solicited from the home, but more tersely if the user happens to be driving a car. This paper presents system architecture to support mobile instruction in conjunction with knowledge-based tutoring capabilities. For concreteress, the general concepts are examined in the context of a system for mathematics education on the Web.

The Study of Design Thinking as Foundation of Multidisciplinary Education (다학제 교육의 근간으로서 '디자인 사고'에 대한 연구)

  • This study aims to reflect experts' opinions in analyzing a design thinking as foundation of multidisciplinary education. For this purpose, a delphi survey was conducted with 20 experts in three sessions from May 1 to June 25, 2012. To analyze the collected data, descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, the mean, and standard deviation were implemented, and internal reliability test on the survey instrument was carried out for statistical processing. The main results are as follows : First, the delphi analysis on intuitive thinking of design thinking suggested 7 items(to pursue the possibility of outside, to pursue the possibility of applying new forms of technology, content planning, facing a complex real-world phenomena etc.). Second, the delphi analysis on logical thinking of design thinking suggested 7 items(executed repeatedly, reasoning and verification, artificial intelligence, a decision support system etc.) Third, the delphi analysis on subjective thinking of design thinking suggested 9 items(user experience measuring, user satisfaction ratings, user requirements analysis, user interface design, behavioral responses of the human etc.). Fourth, the delphi analysis on objective information of design thinking suggested 8 items(information management system, simulation, production process, information exchange and sharing etc.). According to the results of the delphi analysis, design thinking can be seen as the foundation of multidisciplinary education. Suggestions were made for discussion about the main results and further researches.

  • It's been taken a profound interest in the user eduction of the children's libraries, as they have taken the conveniences, resources, children's librarians after 2000. The purpose of this study is to consider whether the children's library can use the story-telling in library use education, to develop the instructional model based on the story-telling method for children, users in children's libraries. After all, it's reviewed to understand the concept and principle of story-telling method, to consider whether the method can be adopted to the user education in children's libraries, and to propose the instructional model based on the story-telling. The result of this study will give the good examples for the user education, especially the planning of user education in children's libraries and public libraries in Korea.

  • The purpose of this study is to think about the educational effect of school space innovation project through user participation, to investigate and analyze the actual situation of user participation school space innovation project of elementary, middle and high schools of Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, The educational effect was analyzed. After the students and teachers participated in the improvement of the school space, the students' skills were improved. Overall, emotional abilities were most cultivated, and elementary school students were most physically cultivated. The intimacy created by participation and activities and play-oriented projects may have helped to develop students' abilities. In addition, the school became fun after user participation, and there was a positive effect of increasing a sense of apathy and belonging. The expansion of user participation has resulted in not only the satisfaction of space but also the friendship and emotional part of students. As a result of this study, the school space constructed through the user participation process brought about significant educational changes in school life and individual quality of life in the learning activities and school life of teachers and students, the main users of the school space.

  • The purpose of this study aims to examine the effects of Career Development Center website users' recognition on contents characteristics (User Convenience, Information, Customer Service) on user responses (User Satisfaction, User Loyalty). According to the research result, first, Career Development Center of website contents characteristics explained 36.4% User satisfaction, it was affected significantly Information, User Convenience, and Customer Service in order. Second, Career Development Center of website contents characteristics explained 36.2% User loyalty, it was affected significantly Information, Customer Service, and User Convenience in order. Thus, it was important that Web site contents was improved the Users satisfaction and loyalty of Career Development Center Web site.

  • With the active usage of digital media, the importance of and the interest in User Interface (UI)/User Experience (UX) have been increasing. This study proposes the development of design evaluation model to utilize the quality analysis model as a basis if there were to be a development of mobile education application. Main factors of the design evaluation model, which is based on User Value analysis, influence users' attitudes and intentions in continuing their uses of a mobile education application. The employment of the design evaluation factors onto the existing agile method's development stage, therefore, would provide an optimal UX environment for the application. This application not only will increase the satisfactions of consumers, but also will have positive impacts on their intentions in continuing their uses of a mobile education application.

  • Knowledge search system is to find the question-answer documents for user question. Even highly qualified question-answer documents could be far different from those that a user want to find. The reason for this failure is that user frequently fails to make user's question to express his/her intension precisely. In this paper, we show our newly developed knowledge search system that recommends additional question-answer documents to include the contents that user want to find with high probability.

  • With the advent of smartphones, people can access various information through the internet anytime and anywhere. Even in the vehicle environment, users can use the internet. Users interact with web and applications every day and get information. However, as the amount of data to be processed by the program increases, users inevitably receive a message to wait. User waiting is an inconvenient experience, but minimizing user waiting is the best way because there is time required for data processing. However, if the service processing time exceeds the expected time, users experience more severe boredom and pain. Therefore, various methods and researches are being conducted to alleviate the boredom of user waiting. The most commonly used method to alleviate user waiting boredom is loading. In this study, we investigated the effect of skeleton loading, the latest loading technique, on user waiting experience, and how attractive it is as a design technique in terms of UI compared to other loading techniques.

  • In this paper we studied English listening and speaking test part of foreign language using web and VoiceXML-based education testing system, which is irrespective of time and space. The testing system interface based on VoiceXML consists of user registration module, testing module, and testing result module. User registration module registers user's name and ID, password in user database, and when a tester calls for testing, the User listens to the telephone sound supported by vxml scenario. After that, if a tester logs in, the tester is verified, In the VoiceXML-based education testing system, the manager can reduce time and effort for gaining testing result. The tester listens to the voice by scenario supported by VoiceXML markup language using wire/wireless telephone at any time or anywhere and can improve the effect of foreign language studying by valuating in voice directly. verified.
