  • The paper proposes a pre-processing method for efficient processing of XML queries in information retrieval systems with a large amount of XML documents. For the pre-processing, we use a signature-based approach. In the conventional (flat document-based) information retrieval systems, user queries consist of keywords and boolean operators, and thus signatures are structured in a flat manner. However, in XML-based information retrieval systems, the user queries have the form of path query. Therefore, the flat signature cannot be effective for XML documents. In the paper, we propose a structured signature for XML documents. Through experiments, we evaluate the performance of the proposed method.

  • Public Key Infrastructure(PKI) provides a strong authentication. Privilege Management Infrastructure(PMI) as a new technology can provide user's attribute information. The main function of PMI is to give more specified authority and role to user. To authenticate net and role, we have used digital signature. Role Based Access Control(RBAC) is implemented by digital signature. RBAC provides some flexibility for security management. NEIS(National Education Information System) can not always provide satisfied quality of security management. The main idea of the proposed RNEIS(Roll Based NEIS) is that user's role is stored in AC, access control decisions are driven by authentication policy and role. Security manager enables user to refer to the role stored in user's AC, admits access control and suggests DB encryption by digital signature.

  • In this paper, we design an authentication protocol based on Fuzzy Signature Vault Scheme using a light signature feature extraction method for user convenience and efficiency of electronic commerce. The signature is used broadly in electronic commerce because it is one of the simple and low-cost biometric items. However, signature has a problem that there are few low-cost and safe protocols. To solve this problem, we design a feature extraction method which is adequate for characters of signature and Fuzzy Vault Scheme. In addition, we design and analyze an efficient authentication protocol with some parameters used in this procedure. The followings are advantages when this protocol is applied to authentication procedure; 1) using convenient and low-cost signatures, 2) being possible to verify users with spending only about second for signature processing and authentication, 3) one time on transmission for sign-in and verification and 4) getting user authentication with secret value at the same time.

  • Electronic cash is a digital signature issued by bank. If the concept of the distributed secret sharing and magic ink signature is introduced in the existing electronic cash system we can increase the security level and the availability of electronic cash system and trace the electronic cash itself and the owner of electronic cash which was issued anonymously to a user in case of illegal usage of electronic cash by users. If the trust is concentrated on one bank system. the problem of misuse of bank can be occurred. To solve this problem, the distributed secrete sharing scheme need to be introduced in electronic cash system. In this paper We propose a DSS(Digital Signature Standard) distributed magic ink signature scheme and a KCDSA(Korea Certificate-based Digital Signature Algorithm) distributed magic ink signature scheme using a verifiable secret sharing method. and we compare two methods with respect to the required computation amount for the generation of magic-ink signature.

  • This paper is a research on the dynamic signature verification of error rate which are false rejection rate and false acceptance rate, the size of signature verification engine, the size of the characteristic vectors of a signature, the ability to distinguish similar signatures, and so on. We suggest feature extraction and comparison method of the advanced signature verification. Also, we have implemented web authentication server with Java technology for supporting various OS Platforms and designed for more efficient user interfaces.

  • Currently, online user authentication is perform using joint certificates issued by accredited certification authorities and simple certificates issued by private agency. In such a PKI(Public Key Infrastructure) system, various cryptographic technologies are used, and in particular, digital signatures are used as a core technology. The digital signature scheme is equally used in DID(Decentralized Identity), which is attracting attention to replace the existing centralized system. As such, the digital signature-based user authentication used in current online services is also applied in the metaverse, which is attracting attention as the next-generation online world. Metaverse, a compound word of "meta," which means virtual and transcendent, and "universe," means a virtual world that includes the existing online world. Due to various developments of the metaverse, it is expted that new authentication technologies including biometric authentication will be used, but existing authentication technologies are still being used. Therefore, in this study, we study digital signature scheme that can be efficiently used for user authentication in the developing metaverse. In particular, we experimentally analyze the effectiveness of ECDSA, which is currently used as a standard for digital signatures, and Schnorr signatures, which can quickly verify a large amount of signatures.

  • The wide use of mobile devices such as smart phones makes the mobile commerce industry be growing-up rapidly. In mobile commerce security, how to secure a copyright of mobile contents and how to distribute it are of major concerns. The user can carry the smart phone regardless of the places. Thus the utilization of it is very high than that of personal computers. The USIM(Universal Subscriber Information Module) inserted in the smart phone binds the user with the device. This means that the smart phone can be used to represent the owner's identity. In this paper, we develop the mobile ID based digital signature scheme. We create the mobile ID by combining USIM with the user's random secret value. In addition, undeniable property of our signature scheme can make ID based applications such as mobile voting and mobile content distribution be possible with the smart phone.

  • An ID-based DNF signature scheme is an ID-based signature scheme with an access structure which is expressed as a disjunctive normal form (DNF) with literals of signer identities. ID-based DNF signature schemes are useful to achieve not only signer-privacy but also a multi-user access control. In this paper, we formally define a notion of a (non-interactive) ID-based DNF signature and propose the first noninteractive ID-based DNF signature schemes that are secure under the computational Diffie-Hellman and subgroup decision assumptions. Our first scheme uses random oracles, and our second one is designed without random oracles. To construct the second one, we use a novel technique that converts a non-interactive witness indistinguishable proof system of encryption of one bit into a corresponding proof system of encryption of a bit-string. This technique may be of independent interest. The second scheme straightforwardly yields the first ID-based ring signature that achieves anonymity against full key exposure without random oracles. We finally present two extensions of the proposed ID-based DNF signature schemes to support multiple KGCs and different messages.

  • We introduce attribute set based signature (ASBS), a new cryptographic primitive which organizes user attributes into a recursive set based structure such that dynamic constraints can be imposed on how those attributes may be combined to satisfy a signing policy. Compared with attribute based signature (ABS), ASBS is more flexible and efficient in managing user attributes and specifying signing policies. We present a practical construction of ASBS and prove its security in the standard model under three subgroup decision related assumptions. Its efficiency is comparable to that of the most efficient ABS scheme.

  • Dynamic (On-line) signature verification system consists of preprocessing, feature extraction, comparison and decision process for internal processing, and registration and verification windows for the user interface. We describe an implementation and design for an advanced dynamic signature verification system. Also, we suggest the method of feature extraction, matching algorithm, efficient user interface and an objective criteria for evaluating the performance.
