A Transactor Implementation for SoC Verification with iPROVE (iPROVE 기반 SoC 검증을 위한 트랜잭터 구현)

  • In this paper the proposed transactor is customized and a generator which roles of automatically generating the transactor according to DUT(Design Under Test)'s input and output is implemented. The customized transactor is designed by rearranging the signals of depending on DUT and transactor protocol which consists of signals of the PCI interface between host computer and FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array). The implemented automatic generator of transactor generates a Verilog code of transactor by adding DUT's information about input and output ports. Performance and normal working of the generated transactor has been verified by experiments with some verified hardware IPs. Also, an efficiency of the transactor has been verified by comparing with user's manually designed transactor and generated transactor. Moreover, the generator's flexibility has been verified for DUT's information of variable input and output. In case of using the implemented generator, a design time of transactor is reduced.

Ergonomic Analysis of Cellular Phone Keypad Considering the Dominant Hand

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to give interest about usability of cellular phone keypad for left-handed person. Background: Although there are being a lot of attempts to design suitable product on user's request in process that design cellular phone keypad, ergonomic access about left-handed person who compose decimal class is unprepared. Especially, in early user's occasion, left-handed persons need more efforts than right-handed person to master Hangul character input process skill level. But, since realization about this left-handed person's discomfort has not spread, the importance has not been well thought in the society. Method: (1) After extracting emblem to use in comparison in questionnaire, applied emblem uniformly to different 3 kind of cellular phone. (2) Measured Hangul input time and mistyping number by dominant hand's position and skill level to reagent. (3) Taking the result through ANOVA. Conclusion: In the result of the experiment about Hangul input time and mistyping number according to dominant hand's position and skill level, left-handed person's group on the low skill level has shown the dullest use capability among 4 experiment groups. Application: In the future, analysis result may be used to the data of realization conversion in process design of various products including cellular phone keypad to consider left-handed person.

Mechanism for Energy Conservation by Adding New State to the Current LCD States of the Power Manager of Smartphones Based on Tizen (타이젠 기반 스마트폰 파워 매니저의 현재 LCD 상태에 새로운 상태 추가를 통한 에너지 절약 기법)

  • Mobile operating systems have been typically classified into Apple and Android. Samsung showed its own new mobile OS developing Tizen based on Linux kernel. Mobile operating system has developed a technology using low-power by itself because of the limitation of capacity of battery, a feature of mobile. Samsung Tizen OS has a low-power technology called Power Manager controling LCD states as users'inputs or time-out events occur. However, if users'input occurs frequently, energy consumption jumped before-and-after users'input because CPU clock is increased rapidly due to overhead increase for frequent LCD state changes. This paper proposes a mechanism to reduce the overhead for LCD state changes, when user's input is frequent, by adding a new state to the Power Manager the current Tizen OS is using. We have implemented the proposed mechanism at Tizen phone kernel layer in this paper and experimented the mechanism according to users' LCD touch inputs. The experiment shows that it is possible to decrease energy by reducing the CPU clock increase according to the frequent user's inputs.

The contactless elevator button using the electrostatic capacity (정전 용량을 이용한 비접촉식 엘리베이터 버튼)

  • The elevator installed in the building consists of an elevator call button and an input button for selection to the target floor. The elevator button is input only when the elevator user directly presses it. Such passenger input can be infected with an infectious disease due to contamination of the button. A non-contact button is required as a means for solving this problem, which detects the proximity of an object by applying a capacitive method. It implements a function of measuring the body's body temperature by attaching an infrared heat sensor, and provides a sterilization function of a button by attaching a UV-LED. A button was selected, a body temperature was measured through an infrared temperature measurement sensor, and UV-LED was turned on and sterilized when there was no user. The contactless elevator button is expected to be effective in preventing infectious diseases as it can prevent infection of viruses carrying infectious diseases and can detect body temperature to select positive patients of CIVID 19.

  • Recently, due to the development of interactive media, Interactive Typography, which explores user input and interaction is under development. Unlike traditional typography which has a fixed nature, the flexible and fluid nature of Interactive Typography and Interactive System, enables diverse results. In this study, I have developed an Interactive Typography art piece based on theoretical research. By reviewing books, papers and articles, I have tried to define the meaning and characteristics of Interactive Typography. In understanding the concept of Interactive System, I have borrowed the concept of mathematical function. Based on the research, I have designed and developed an Interactive Typography piece, 'Interactive floral type' by using Adobe flash action script. This piece explores the beautiful shape of each alphabet letters and transforms individual character into a 'flower' shape through user's mouse and keyboard input. Depending on the input the size, color, and layout and motion of text changes in real time to change the letters into beautiful flowers.

  • In this study, GNLP(GIS linked non-linear network analysis program) for pipeline system analysis has been developed. This GNLP gets the input data for pipeline analysis from existing GIS(geographic information system) data automatically, and has GUI(graphic user interface) for user. Non-Linear Method was used for hydraulic analysis of pipe network based on Hazen-Williams equation, and Microsoft Access of relational database management system(RDBMS) was used for the framework of database applied program. GNLP system environment program was improved so that a pipe network designer can input information data for hydraulic analysis of pipeline system more easily than that of existing models. Furthermore this model generate output such as pressure and water quantities in the form of a table and a chart, and also produces output data in Excel file. This model is also able to display data effectively for analysed data confirmation and query function which is the core of GIS program.

  • It's necessary to judge between success and failure of a project in order to secure the objective evaluation index and the transparency of that. In case of the public works including a construction section, the large-scale budget input proceeds, but the awareness regarding the efficiency and usefulness of the public works is decreasing because it's hard to estimate benefit originated from the results of the budget input. Therefore, this study is to propose the measurement standard for the post-evaluation based on the list of the resident response degree and user satisfaction degree to systematically and quantitatively measure the results of the post-evaluation for the public projects within the range of quantifying the consumer satisfaction degree for the facilities which preform the post-evaluation among the public projects with 50 billion budget.

Development and Wearability Evaluation of All-Fabric Integrated Smart Jacket for a Temperature-regulating System Based on User Experience Design (사용자 경험 중심의 섬유일체형 온도조절 스마트재킷 개발과 착용성 평가)

  • This study aims to develop an all-fabric integrated smart jacket in order to create a temperature-regulating system based on a user experience design. For this research, previous research technologies of a textile switch interface and a temperature-regulating system were utilized and a unifying technology for the all-fabric integrated smart jacket was developed which can provide the appropriate temperature environments to the human body. A self-heating textile was applied at the areas of the back and hood in the final tested jacket, and an embroidery circuit was developed in the form of a rectangle in the back and in both ears of the hood, taking into account the pattern of the jacket part where it was be applied and the embroidery production method. The textile switch interface was designed in a three-layer structure: an embroidery circuit line in a conductive yarn, an interval material, and a conductive sensing material, and it was made to work with the input and output sensors through the multiple input method. After the all-fabric integrated smart jacket was produced according to the pattern, all of the textile band lines for transmission were gathered and connected with a miniature module for controlling temperature and then integrated into the inside of the left chest pocket of the jacket. After the users put on this jacket, they were asked to assess the wearing satisfaction. Most of them reported a very low level of irritation and discomfort and said that the jacket was as comfortable as everyday clothing.

Interactive electronic book utilizing tabletop display and digi-pet (테이블탑 디스플레이와 디지팻을 활용한 상호작용 전자책)

  • In this paper, we describe about interactive electronic book utilizing tabletop display interface and digi-pet. Because of this system can define a lot of gestures using touch point of finger, help that user experiences electronic book effectively more than existent input device. Also, support 1 users in 1 input device in existent mode, but this system can expect various effect because support Multi-user. The digi-pet(digital pet) is physical tools that convey emotion between tabletop display platform and user. And this shows various results acting as assistance because becomes master of story of imagination and participate directly on talk and makes change of story. In this paper, we described about oriented electronic book system the future that combines tabletop display and Digi-pet. This system is expected that the usefulness is increased by leaps and bounds along with technology development forward.

A Mobile Tour Guide System using Wearable See-through Device and Hand-held Device based on Shared Touring Context (여행자 상황 정보 기반 안경형 웨어러블 디바이스 및 핸드헬드 디바이스 투어 가이드 시스템)

  • Mobile tour guide applications help tourists to search for and visit their surrounding POIs(Points of Interest) of their locations and to obtain their guide information. With the development of wearable devices like smart watches and wearable glasses, people using multiple mobile devices are increasing; a tourist may use a hand-held device, a wearable device or both to obtain tour information. However, most mobile tour guides using mobile devices provide the tour information with little consideration of their hand-held and wearable characteristics. In particular, a tourist with multiple mobile devices who search for the tour information from multiple mobile devices must input their intention separately to each device. To alleviate these problems, we propose a mobile tour guide system with the following features: one is to reduce redundant user input by sharing the touring context between hand-held and wearable devices; the other is to present tour information according to capabilities and usage pattern of the devices. The proposed system guides tourists by complementing disadvantage of the devices and also minimizes user interaction between applications and tourists.
