A Study on Sustainable Outdoor Space of Regional Public Hospitals (지역거점공공병원의 지속가능한 외부공간에 대한 연구)

  • Purpose: Since hospitals have a big impact on the natural and social environment, hospitals' sustainability must be considered in various aspects including environmental, social, and economical aspects. So far, research on sustainable hospitals has mainly been conducted on indoor environment, but outdoor space of hospital is as important as well. The purpose of this research is to study the sustainability of hospital outdoor space and to make proposals for improving sustainable regional public hospitals. Methods: Through preceding research analysis and literature review, the concept of sustainable outdoor space of hospital was defined. Also, the evaluation contents of outdoor space were extracted from domestic and foreign green building certification criteria. With this analytic frame, we visited 4 regional public hospitals in Korea, interviewed the facility managers, and analyzed sustainability of hospital outdoor space. Results: Analysis of 4 regional public hospitals reveals that there is a lack of consideration for sustainability in all 4 categories; urban and network, natural environment, community, and user. In terms of community, sustainability has rarely been applied to all four hospitals. The site selection and terrain of the site were essential to sustainability. Implications: Establishing a master plan considering future expansion is critical. Also more attempt to show regional characteristics is needed. It is necessary to design a comprehensive outdoor space that considers sustainability and also healing environment. Level difference in the site can be used as a design element.

Economic Feasibility Study on the Efficient Use of Advanced Water Treatment for Water Supply (상수고도정수처리의 효율적 이용을 위한 경제성 검토)

  • Advanced water treatment for water supply is being introduced for the treatment of various organic materials which cannot be removed by conventional water treatment methods. While the development of advanced water treatment system appropriate to the domestic enviropment of advanced water treatment system appropriate to the domestic environment is essential, the study on the economic costs and the social impact is also of importance. In this paper, it is shown how to estimate the costs (capital and maintenance) for advanced water treatment facilities, especially those using ozone treatment combined with activated carbon process and membrance separation. Estimated costs were compared with the government budget. Also, a general relation between the system capacity and investment was derived. Four alternatives were considered form the aspect of the amount of water to be produced and the delivery system to the user. These alternatives were applied to the city of Pusan. It turned out that bottled water, produced only for drinking, has best economic advantages in having minimum system capacity without detriment to water quality.

  • The development of IT has led to increase the business's dependence on IT and the interests of enterprises on IT governance. Also, more enterprises have adopted managed services to save operating costs in IT departments and to maximize their business efficiency. However, until recently, there are very few academic as well as practical researches regarding managed services, IT service effectiveness, IT governance and their interrelations. This study analyzes the effects of managed services on IT governance based on the IT-BSC (Balanced Scorecard) model. Using the expert FGI (Focus Group Interview) and survey, the research results present that managed services have the most significant effect on the user-oriented and the operational efficiency in enterprises. Also, managed services through the business process standardization can improve the IT governance more effectively. This study will be a relevant guideline for enterprises that will adopt managed services.

Evaluation of impact of climate change on inflow to Chungju Dam by user-centered selection of GCM and downscaling method (사용자 중심의 GCM 및 상세화 기법 선정에 따른 충주댐 유입량 기후변화 영향 평가)

  • 본 연구는 충주댐을 대상으로 기후변화에 따른 미래 댐운영에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위하여 연구 목적에 접합한 GCM 및 상세화 기법 선정을 위한 절차를 적용함으로써 사용자 중심의 기후변화 시나리오 상세화 자료가 유입량의 재현성 평가에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 우선 편이보정 전의 29개 원시 GCM에 대한 강수량 및 기온의 순단위 시 공간적 재현성 평가를 통해서 상위 16개 GCM을 선정하였다. 이후 상세화 기법을 선정하기 위해서 유입량 전망에 중요하다고 판단되는 총강수량(prcptot) 및 일최대강수량 (rx1day)을 기후지수(Climate Indices)로 선정하였다. 상세화 기법은 과거기간의 재현성이 평가, 미래기간 시그널 왜곡도 평가, 공간상관성에 대한 재현성 평가를 통해 SQM 기법을 선정하였다. 제한적인 기후변화 전망 자료를 고려하여 과거 30년 기간에 대한 모의결과 월단위 모형효율지수(ME) 및 결정계수 ($R^2$)는 모두 0.92로 만족할 만한 결과를 보여 주었다. GCM 선정에 따른 오차는 원시 GCM을 통해 선정된 16개 GCM을 사용한 경우 유입량 재현성 평가에 있어 가장 좋은 결과를 보였다. 전체적으로 상세화 자료를 유역 모델링에 활용하는 경우 GCM의 선정보다는 상세화 기법의 선정이 전체적인 재현성 평가에 있어서 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 미래기간에 대한 평균 유입량 전망은 모든 RCP 시나리오에서 근 미래 보다는 중간 및 먼 미래 기간 동안에 유입량이 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 또한 모든 미래 기간에 대해여 RCP 8.5 시나리오가 RCP 4.5 시나리오와 비교하여 유입량의 증가가 높을 것으로 전망되었다. 홍수 관리측면에서 중요한 일 최대 유입량의 미래 변동은 평균 유입량과 비교하여 최대 두 배 이상의 높은 변화율을 보였다. 댐운영 측면에서는 연간 총 유입량의 변화보다 시기별 유입량의 변동 특성을 이해하는 것이 중요하며, 평균 유입량 및 일단위 최대 유입량 모두 근 미래 기간에 대해서는 RCP 시나리오 모두 7월 및 8월을 중심으로 유입량이 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 반면 중간 미래에서 먼 미래로 갈수록 평균 및 일단위 최대 유입량 모두 전체 기간에 걸쳐 증가하는 경향을 보였다.

Semantic-based Keyword Search System over Relational Database (관계형 데이터베이스에서의 시맨틱 기반 키워드 탐색 시스템)

  • One issue with keyword search in general is its ambiguity which can ultimately impact the effectiveness of the search in terms of the quality of the search results. This ambiguity is primarily due to the ambiguity of the contextual meaning of each term in the query. In addition to the query ambiguity itself, the relationships between the keywords in the search results are crucial for the proper interpretation of the search results by the user and should be clearly presented in the search results. We address the keyword search ambiguity issue by adapting some of the existing approaches for keyword mapping from the query terms to the schema terms/instances. The approaches we have adapted for term mapping capture both the syntactic similarity between the query keywords and the schema terms as well as the semantic similarity of the two and give better mappings and ultimately 50% raised accurate results. Finally, to address the last issue of lacking clear relationships among the terms appearing in the search results, our system has leveraged semantic web technologies in order to enrich the knowledgebase and to discover the relationships between the keywords.

  • This study aimed to analyze the degree of consumers' expectations for their performance and efforts in using overseas direct purchase, impact of overseas direct purchase on the society, and effect of price value to their intention to use overseas direct purchase in the future. In addition, the significance of overseas direct purchase on the user-perceived availability is empirically analyzed. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and price value showed significantly positive effect on the intention to use overseas direct purchase in the future. With respect to the perceived availability in using overseas direct purchase, it was found out that effort expectancy and price value had significantly positive effect; however, it appeared that performance expectancy and social influence had no significant effect on the perceived availability of the users.

  • The emergence of knowledge-sharing live streamers provides more diversified content to the live streaming platform. Analysis of the factors affecting the intention to use knowledge sharing live streaming users can allow the live streaming platform to understand better the adoption characteristics of users who follow this type of content. Help platform operators provide better services and help live streaming platforms innovate. Based on the TAM model, this research uses questionnaire surveys and structural equation models to construct a conceptual model of the influencing factors of users' intentions in the knowledge sharing live streaming and conduct an empirical analysis on the influencing factor models. The results of data analysis show that a significant influence of users' attitudes of knowledge sharing live streaming is perceived usefulness, followed by flow experience; perceived value has a positive impact on users' attitudes and intention to use, and the positive influence of users attitude significantly affect the user's intention.

An Empirical Effect of the Belief Variables on Recommendation Intention for Using Kiosk Service (키오스크 서비스의 추천의도에 영향을 미치는 신념변수에 관한 실증적 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify belief variables of kiosk that affect satisfaction and recommendation intention by applying vertically extended technology acceptance model (TAM). As results of this study are as follows. Firstly, the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have an impact on satisfaction statistically. Second, the perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment of the kiosk showed a positive(+) influence on the recommendation intention. Third, users who satisfied with kiosk service have strong recommendation intention to their friends, family and colleagues so on. These findings support that the usefulness and usability of the new information technology identified in the existing technology acceptance model is a key variable affecting user reactions (satisfaction and recommendation intention). Additionally, the perceived enjoyment is an important factor as new belief variable for explaining the formation of recommendation intention through satisfaction of kiosk service. The results of this study contribute to verifying the empirical model between the belief variables(perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment) and the recommendation intention.

The Research of Exploring Factors Impact on User's Continuance Usage of Chinese Short-clip Application: Based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and use of Technology (UTAUT) and Flow Theory (중국 쇼트 클립 어플리케이션 지속 이용의도 연구: 플로우 이론과 통합기술수용모형을 바탕으로)

  • This research explored how the various of factors including performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating conditions and some external factors consisting of critical mass, attention, perceived enjoyment, and time distortion had impacts on users' usage of short-clip application based on flow theory and the UTAUT model. The research employed SEM with 263 valid questionnaires. The results showed that social influence and satisfaction factors had positive impacts in sustainable usage of mobile short-clip application, while the other factors have no special effect on it. The results also indicated that time distortions had a negative effect in the intention of continuous usage. Furthermore, performance expectancy, perceived enjoyment, and time distortions had positive impacts in users' satisfaction. The beneficial effects of critical mass on social influence had been recognized through this study.

  • The rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) devices have greatly influenced many industries and one of them is healthcare where wearable devices started to track all your daily activities for better health monitoring accuracy and even down to tracking daily food intake in some cases. With the amounts of data that are being tracked and shared between from these devices, questions were raised on how to uphold user's data privacy when data is shared between these IoT devices and third party. With the blockchain platforms started to mature since its inception, the technology can be implemented according to a variety of use case scenarios. In this paper, we present a system architecture based on the healthcare system and IoT network by leveraging on multiple blockchain networks as the medium in between that should enable users to have direct authority on data accessibility of their shared data. We provide proof of concept implementation and highlight the results from our testing to show how the efficiency and scalability of the healthcare system improved without having a significant impact on the performance of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) that mostly affected by the previous solution since these solutions directly connected to a public blockchain network and which resulted in significant delays and high cost of operation when a large amount of data or complicated functions are involved.
