There are five results. First, the motivation for using smartphones had a significant effect on the display advertising attitude of smartphone applications. Second, the display advertising attitude of the smartphone application had a significant effect on the advertising avoidance behavior. Third, the display advertising attitude of smart phone application had a significant effect on perceived advertising intrusion. Fourth, the perception of intrusiveness of display advertising in smartphone applications had a significant effect on advertising avoidance behavior. Finally, it was confirmed that the perceived ad intrusion has a partial mediating effect in the causal relationship of the smartphone application display advertising attitude to the ad avoidance behavior. The results of this study will contribute to suggesting strategies to reduce advertising avoidance behavior.

  • This study attempts to identify user perceived value as a major predictor of the usage of smartphone-based mobile commerce(m-commerce). More specifically, the study conceptualizes user perceived value of smartphone-based m-commerce along three dimensions, such as temporal, functional, and economic values. Moreover, this study proposes service ubiquity and user control that are uniquely defining characteristics of smartphone-based m-commerce and examines how the two variables are associated with the creation of user perceived value. Using a total of 164 data collected on users of smartphone-based mcommerce, we conducted PLS analysis to test the proposed model and hypotheses. The key findings are as follows : First, it has been found that the usage of smartphone-based m-commerce is determined by the three values, such as temporal, functional, and economic values. Particularly, the results show that temporal value is the most influential variable in predicting m-commerce use. Second, the results demonstrate that service ubiquity has a significant positive effect on temporal value, whereas it has no effect on functional value. Finally, user control is positively associated with temporal and functional values. Overall, the results indicate that service ubiquity and user control considerably increase temporal value, thereby accelerating the use of smartphone-based m-commerce. Discussions and implications of the results are provided.

  • Users of Smartphone in Korea are using the majority of the economically active population over 99% and experts have seen that they have reached saturation after the initial formation stages. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influencing factors of dominant design attributes on the intention of continuous use of Smartphone users. Predictor factors were selected perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use suggested on extended the technology acceptance model. The concept model was completed by selecting the dominant design attribute as a mediator. Participants of this study were 135 Smartphone users in Busan Gyeongnam and Iksan Jeonbuk province in accordance with convenience sampling. IBM SPSS Statistics 19 were employed for descriptive statistics, Smart PLS (partial least squares) was employed for confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis of casual relationship among variables. Therefore, when moderating mediated factor of dominant design and attitude, factor of continuous usage intention showed 76% explanatory power.

  • As smartphone usage has increased recently, so has smartphone addiction. Many of the smartphone users, however, do not even recognize the risk of smartphone addiction. In this experiment, smartphone users have been categorized into two groups by smartphone addiction measure (S-measure) developed by 2011 National Information Society Agency (NIA): A high risk group and a normal group. The changes of brain waves have been observed when the subjects were watching emotional videos of anger, sadness, happiness, and fear. The results show that the values of FP1 and FP2 (frontal lobe) theta band of the high risk group have been measured to be high, which indicate anxiety disorder. Although happiness and fear videos showed no difference between these groups, sadness and anger videos showed significantly different results for these groups: the brain waves of the high risk group showed higher values than those of the normal group. Therefore, this experiment showed that the high risk group takes feelings of sadness and anger more sensitively than the normal group.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to (a) synthesize nursing education literature using a smartphone for Korean nursing college students based on Whittemore and Knafl's integrative five-step review method and to (b) evaluate the quality appraisal of each article using Gough's weight of evidence. Methods: Articles published in Korea were identified through electronic search engines and scholarly websites using a combination of three search terms, including nursing student, smartphone, and education. Scientific, peer-reviewed articles in nursing education for Korean college nursing students, written in Korean or in English, and published between January 2000 and May 2018 were included in this review. Thirteen papers met the inclusion criteria and had above average ratings in quality appraisals. Results: Three characteristics related to nursing education using a smartphone were derived: (a) as a familiar media, motivating learning and enabling self-directed learning, (b) for the purpose of education or evaluation utilizing the educational movie of application, and (c) the iterative exercise of smartphone usage reinforces student learning. Conclusion: Smartphone use is an effective tool for improving nursing knowledge and skills for nursing college students in nursing education. Future research is needed to standardize smartphone applications across schools for nursing education.

Specifically, the study compared the discriminatory effects of adolescents' relationships with their parents, school teachers, and educational institute teachers on smartphone addiction among elementary, middle, and high school students in Korea. Analyzing the data of the 2019 Korean Children & Youth Happiness Index (N=7,454), it was found that relationships with adults were significant factors in explaining the level of smartphone addiction even after controlling for the influences of adolescents' demographics, usage time, and friendship factors. For elementary school students, good relationships with their mothers and school teachers decreased the risk of smartphone addiction. On the other hand, in the case of middle school students, only a good relationship with father functioned as a protective factor. Good relationships with their fathers and institute teachers decreased the level of high school students' smartphone addiction. Based on these findings, this study discussed on the development of programs and policies for prevention and intervention of adolescents' smartphone addiction and provided suggestions for follow-up research in the future.

  • The aim of this study was to identify the relationship between smartphone usage time and oral health among Korean adolescents using data from the 13th (2017) Korea Youth Health Behavior Survey, which included 62,276 subjects. The daily smartphone usage time was categorized as not used, less than 2 hours, more than 2 hours, less than 4 hours, and more than 4 hours. Our results reveal that 60.1% of participants and 61.7% of smartphone users experienced oral disease symptoms annually, 27.4% of total adolescents used smartphone more than 4 hours daily during weekdays, and 53.8% more than 4 hours daily on weekends. The results from multivariate logistic regression analysis adjusting general characteristics show that the adjusted odds ratio (aOR) for risk of oral disease experience was 1.78 (95% confidence interval, CI 1.67-1.91) times higher in the group that used smartphones more than 4 hours a day on weekdays and 1.81 (95% CI 1.70-1.93) times higher in the group that used smartphones more than 4 hours a day on weekends compared to the group that did not use smartphones. The results indicate that smartphone overuse among Korean adolescents has a harmful effect on oral health. Education programs for reducing excessive use of smartphones among adolescents will help promote oral health.

  • This study is about the influence between usages of smartphone by studying the characteristics of killer-app on smartphone in a perspective of switching cost and lock-in and studied about influence between killer-app and continued usage of mobile telecommunication companies. As a result of the study, information characteristics and network externality has a positive effect on switching cost and lock-in. Switching cost has a positive influence on lock-in but not on intention of continued usage of killer-app. It has shown that lock-in has a positive influence on intention of continued usage of killer-app and plays a mediating role between switching cost and continued usage of killer-app. Finally, intention of continued usage of killer-app has a positive influence on intention of continued usage of mobile telecommunication companies.
