Many countries in the world are celebrating the tercentenary of the birth of L. Euler. One of them to notice is the construction of the Euler Archive, which is an online archive, made by two Ph.D. graduates from Dartmouth College. On the appearance of the archive, the authors remind of the life and works of mathematician L. Euler, who is considered as the most prolific, prominent, and versatile mathematician with the huge volume of his works as well as their importances, in the history of mathematics. Celebrating the 300th birthyear of L. Euler and the appearance of Euler Archive, authors suggest The Korean Society for History of Mathematics of investigating on Euler by ourselves as Koreans, and furthermore translating some works of his. Such works may stimulate interests in mathematics and its history to students as well as scholars.

This research aimed an application method to connect traditional culture and information technology that is one of the digital convergence area. For this purpose, we proposed cloud digital archive framework for traditional culture. Actually, cloud computing environment is one of new technology trend and would be a important keyword for information technology. This research focus on functional framework that is able to support service in cloud computing environment to connect pansori archive model, one of traditional culture. We also make a data structure and metadata by each characteristics, and insert a service framework to support pansori archive. This structure consists of data evaluation, preservation, and access process. This archive has a relation model with digital archive and metadata.

This article introduces the process of building Gongjuhak Archive that collects and databases data from various fields related to the region, enabling people to easily establish Gongju locality and lay the foundation for Gongju Studies. Gongjuhak Archive is built in accordance with the win-win development agreement between both Gongju City and Gongju University, and is proud to have played a pioneering role in the regional studies archive established by the local government. Therefore, we hope to share our concerns and experiences in building Gongjuhak Archive and to successfully develop it with regional studies archive building institutions across the country.

The convergence of libraries, archives, and museums (LAMs) has garnered attention in recent years. Extending the tendency further, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) fuses the library, archive, museum, and publisher (LAMP) functionality together in its library. This article elaborates on the LAMP practices of the NTNU Library, which indicates that without creating new units in a university, its library can play a good role of curating invaluable university assets.

This paper explores Myung Mi Kim's poetics of the archive in Commons. Commons begins with a gesture that critiques a prior act of archivization: "Here, this speck and this speck that you missed." As the poems accrue in the book, Commons demonstrates the desire to record those experiences that have been neglected by the architects of traditional archives while at the same time interrogating the very logic of the archive. Crucial to that interrogation is the poetic form. Kim's attempt to archive silences and gaps leads to a radical experiment with form and language. It reformulates the archive as an open system amenable to interruption, extension, and revision. I examine in detail the techniques that contribute to her poetics of the archive, a poetics that draws the readers out of the narrow confines of their personal experiences and their political identities. By juxtaposing Kim's poems with her statements of poetics given as interviews, this paper connects the project of Commons to Kim's larger concern with open form and experimental writing. I argue that the "difficulty" of her poetry should be reinterpreted as a demand that her text makes on the readers to broaden their terms of engagement. The linguistic experiment of Commons provides an occasion to rethink the habitual ways in which time is experienced, national histories are written, and literary works are consumed.

This study has set up a plan to establish a trail as a means of maximizing a community by using the residents' living materials and unused facilities that a village holds now. A local archive is a place where the records and living materials collected from a village are preserved, displayed and shared with others, serving as a complex space with multiple functions. To apply the idea of 'utilizing a local archive', the empirical study was conducted by making an analysis of trail resources of Baekryeong Island and local archive application resources. Local archive resources were selected through evaluation of connection of trail routes by investigating and discovering the unused facilities of Baekryeong Island village and the depreciation level and scale of them. And actual local archive living references were investigated and collected through in-depth interviews of villagers. Also, through planning of trails by region, limitations of investigation activities were improved and various tangible and intangible resources owned by Baekryeong Island were utilized to enable effective and distinctive investigation activities and experiences. Unused facilities were surveyed and chosen to take advantage of the local archive space, along with in-depth interviews with the residents living in Baekryeong Island. In addition, the current conditions for the trail routes were checked out in order to 'point out the final routes'.

This study aims to examine users' perceptions of and experiences about archival reference services in a university archive. The study uses the Researcher Survey provided by the Archival Metrics Project to understand users' perceptions about the university archive and users' satisfaction level of facilities and services. Based on the results of the survey among 47 users and the interview with the archivist working in the university archive, this study suggests recommendations for improving archival reference services.

Recently, the exhibition industry based on digital archive has been rapidly growing and the industry sees an innovative change with diverse digital archive exhibition venues emerging. Enabling visitors to enjoy new and varied exhibition provides a turning point to the exhibition environment. In today's world where IT (Information Technology) leads social changes, new framework and contents are required to establish digital culture that connects traditional culture with advanced information telecommunications. The objective of this study is to identify factors that influence the audience in a digital archive exhibition venue and to analyze impacts of these factors on exhibition success based on immersion and satisfaction. The study presents a research model that applies significant variables of emotional response theory in which fundamental psychological desire of humans is emphasized. To empirically verify the research model, the author conducted a survey for students of S university in Seoul and for ordinary people who have been to digital archive exhibition venues.

A collection policy (or a collection development policy) is a document that archival institutions must have to allow them to build their collections legitimately and consistently. Digital archives often lack sustainable financial and systematic supports. Thus, it is especially important for digital archives to have a policy for consistent collection activities. Digital archives have a different set of characteristics from physical records, and these characteristics should be considered in a collection policy. This study was initiated to create such a policy for the No Gun Ri Digital Archive. It reviewed existing literature for collection policies in archives and digital archives. Moreover, it examined several cases of digital archives and their policies to identify the necessary elements as well as the legal and procedural coverages for digital content and services. Furthermore, it studied the unique characteristics of the No Gun Ri incident and the No Gun Ri Digital Archive. Based on such investigation, a collection policy for the No Gun Ri Digital Archive was suggested. It is believed that suggesting a practical collection policy will provide a useful precedent for future digital archive projects.

"Eumsigbangmun(飮食方文)"is an old culinary archive written in 1880s and has been categorized into 144 parts, 86.5% of the archive deals with food, while the rest deals with clothing and dwelling. The contents of the food section are : recipe, storage, effect and taboo. The recipes are : 7 staple foods, 57 side dishes, 13 rice cakes, 5 Korean cookies and 7 drinks. The spices are : hot chilli pepper paste, soybean sauce and vinegar. The traditional alcoholic drinks are significant to the old culinary archive, but "Eumsigbangmun" has no record of it. Supplying food was a major problem during those times ; therefore, the archive introduces 17 methods of storing and engineering food, such as : storing vegetables and fruits, method of beef jerky, cleansing and storing of fishes. It also cautions about the traits and effects of fishes and meats. "Eumsigbangmun" is mostly similar to "Gyuhabchongseo(閨閤叢書)" and "Jusiksiui(酒食是儀)", however, it deals with / introduces unique foods such as doejomitang and yangjjim.
