Methods: A descriptive design was used. Data were collected from 308 university students by using structured questionnaires. Results: The results showed that 65.6% of the students believe that they are overweight. There are no differences in health concern, depression, and exercise practice among the skinny perception group, satisfaction group, and obesity perception group. However, there was a significant difference in dietary restriction among the three groups (p<.001). The type of body shape perception was significantly associated with dietary restriction (p=.007). Conclusion: Integrated and effective interventions are necessary for university students to establish healthy body image and learn healthy weight control.

  • The purpose of this study was grouping students' perception types on the unexpected results in experiments, and looking into how the problem-solving experiment affected the change of these perception types. In order to answer this, interview data were analyzed in terms of perception types, and through analysis of questionnaires carried out at the beginning and the end of the semester, the change of perception types was researched. As a result, perception types of students divided into 'the difference between theory and practice,' 'inexperience of experiment skill,' and 'No reading between lines in manual.' After performing the problem-solving experiment for one semester, the perception of 'the difference between theory and practice' declined, and the desire for 'reading between lines' increased, so the problem-solving experiment influenced on the change of perception positively.

  • This study examined the perception of teachers and students on the practice of elementary science class. For this study, an examination tool was made by extracting characteristics of good science class through precedent study investigation and revising it in a questionnaire form of a Likert scale, and conducted to 194 elementary teachers and 320 elementary students. As a result of the study, teachers generally perceived science class positively and teachers with career more than 6 years thought it more positively than them with career less than 5 years. Consequently students have a substantially positive perception level about the practice of the elementary science class, and students of 3th and 4th grade perceived science class positively than 5th and 6th grade in all domains. Finally when analyzing perception difference between teachers and students about the practice of the elementary science class, it appeared that students perceived science class more positively than teachers in most questions.

  • This paper takes another approach in assessing students' perception of mathematics. Instead of asking for verbal description of the students' perception of mathematics, we asked the respondents who were all college students to draw their perception of mathematics. This relatively new approach enabled students to take a second look of how they perceived math and, at the same time, explored students' creativity and provided a less austere appearance to mathematics which was taken usually in a more formal and severe manner. This approach of assessing students' perception of mathematics generated new information that could not be normally gleaned from other approaches like Likert Scale. Some drawings of mathematics of the respondents reinforced their math affect towards mathematics. For those who hated math, their drawings revealed so the same is true with those who loved mathematics. Examining the visual representations of mathematics and looking for commonalities, the researcher found a number of interesting themes that may shed some light to educators' understanding of students' math affect.

When the results were analyzed by residence and grade, there were significant differences in 7 questions between students in urban and rural areas, and between 5th and 6th students, there were important contrasts in 4 questions. The data that understanding of elementary students fossil can be provided for form the basis planning the teaching method to correct student's scientific concepts in elementary school. The results are also contributed to find an effective way for modify misconceptions of fossils to the scientific concepts.
