Traditional structure analysis method is based on numerical matrix analysis to use the geometries consisting of the structure. The characteristics require a lot of computer memories and computational time. To avoid these weaknesses, new approach to analyze truss structure was suggested by adopting topological load redistribution method. The axial forces to be not structurely analyzed yet against outside loads were redistributed by using nodal equation of equilibrium randomly at each node without constructing global matrix. However, this method could not calculate the axial forces if structure is statically indeterminate due to degree of many indeterminacies. Therefore, to apply the method suggested in this research, all redundancies of truss structure were replaced by unit loads. Each unit load could make the deformation of a whole structure, and a superposition method was finally adopted to solve the simultaneous equations. The axial forces and deflections agreed with the result of commercial software within the relative error of 1 %, whereas in the case that the axial forces are relatively very smaller than others, the relative errors were increased to 2 %. However, as the values were small enough not to be considered, it was practically useful as a structural analysis model. This model will be used for structural analysis of truss type of large structure such as agricultural farming facility.

The methodology of micromechanical finite element method (MFEM) is proposed to calculate the micromechanical strains on fiber and matrix under mechanical and thermal loadings. For micromechanical analysis, composite structure is idealized the square and hexagonal unit cells. Boundary conditions are determined to calculate the effective material properties of composites and the strain magnification matrix. And they are verified by comparing with the results from multi cells, and the strain distributions of the unit cells are in accordance with those of the multi cells. Finally, the effective material properties of composite structure are obtained with respect to its fiber volume fraction and compared with results from rules-of-mixture.

This paper presents a new DAC design strategy to achieve a wideband dynamic linearity by increasing the bandwidth of the output impedance. In order to reduce the dominant parasitic capacitance of the conventional matrix structure, all the cells associated with a unit current source and its control are stacked in a single column very closely (stacked unit cell structure). To further reduce the parasitic capacitance, the size of the unit current source is considerably reduced at the sacrifice of matching yield. The degraded matching of the current sources is compensated for by a self-calibration. A prototype 6-bit 3.3-GS/s current-steering full binary DAC was fabricated in a 1P9M 90 nm CMOS process. The DAC shows an SFDR of 36.4 dB at 3.3 GS/s Nyquist input signal. The active area of the DAC occupies only $0.0546mm^2$ (0.21 mm ${\times}$ 0.26 mm).
Application areas of Knowledge Discovery in Database(KDD) have been expanded to many R&D management processes including technology trends analysis, forecasting and evaluation etc. Established research field such as informetrics (or scientometrics) has utilized techniques or methods of KDD. Various systems have been developed to support works of analyzing large-scale R&D related databases such as patent DB or bibliographic DB by a few researchers or institutions. But extant systems have some problems for korean users to use. Their prices is not moderate, korean language processing is impossible, and user's demands not reflected. To solve these problems, Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information(KISTI) developed stand-alone type information analysis system named as KnowledgeMatrix. KnowledgeMatrix system offer various functions to analyze retrieved data set from databases. KnowledgeMatrix's main operation unit is composed of user-defined lists and matrix generation, cluster analysis, visualization, data pre-processing. Matrix generation unit help extract information items which will be analyzed, and calculate occurrence, co-occurrence, proximity of the items. Cluster analysis unit enable matrix data to be clustered by hierarchical or non-hierarchical clustering methods and present tree-type structure of clustered data. Visualization unit offer various methods such as chart, FDP, strategic diagram and PFNet. Data pre-processing unit consists of data import editor, string editor, thesaurus editor, grouping method, field-refining methods and sub-dataset generation methods. KnowledgeMatrix show better performances and offer more various functions than extant systems.

In this paper, the method for soil-structure interaction analyses in the time domain is proposed. The far field soil region which is the outside of the artificial boundary is modeled by using explicit frequency-dependent two dimensional infinite elements which can include multiple wave components propagating into the unbounded medium. Since the dynamic stiffness matrix of the far field soil region using the proposed infinite elements is obtained explicitly in terms of exciting frequencies and constants in the frequency domain, the matrix can be easily transformed into the displacement unit-impulse response matrix, which corresponds to a convolution integral of it in the time domain. To verify the proposed method for soil-structure interaction analyses in the time domain, the displacement responses due to an impulse load on the surface of a soil layer with the rigid bed rock are compared with those obtained by the method in the frequency domain and those by models with extend finite element meshes. Good agreements have been found between them.

The $4{\times}4$ homogeneous transformation matrix is a compact representation of orientation and position of an object in robotics and computer graphics. A coordinate transformation is accomplished through the successive multiplications of homogeneous matrices, each of which represents the orientation and position of each corresponding link. Thus, for real time control applications in robotics or animation in computer graphics, the fast multiplication of homogeneous matrices is quite demanding. In this paper, a parallel-architecture vector processor is designed for this purpose. The processor has several key features. For the accuracy of computation for real application, the operands of the processors are floating point numbers based on the IEEE Standard 754. For the parallelism and reduction of hardware redundancy, the processor takes column vectors of homogeneous matrices as multiplication unit. To further improve the throughput, the processor structure and its control is based on a pipe-lined structure. Since the designed processor can be used as a special purpose coprocessor in robotics and computer graphics, additionally to special matrix/matrix or matrix/vector multiplication, several other useful instructions for various transformation algorithms are included for wide application of the new design. The suggested instruction set will serve as standard in future processor design for Robotics and Computer Graphics. The design is verified using FPGA implementation. Also a comparative performance improvement of the proposed design is studied compared to a uni-processor approach for possibilities of its real time application.
An attempt to clarify the landscape structure of urban areas was carried out on Mt. Hwangryung located in the center of Pusan, southern Korea. By means of aerial photographs and field survey, a vegetation map including land-use pattern was made. Landscape structure was described by analyzing the vegetation map. Landscape element types were classified into secondary forest, introduced plantation, and other elements including urbanized area. almus firma and Pinus thunbergii communities, introduced plantation elements, formed matrix and some secondary forest elements and the other artificial plantations of small scale tended to distribute as small patches in such matrix. The number of patches per unit area in secondary forest elements was more than that in introduced plantation element. The result on patech size was vice versa. As the results of landscape ecological analyses, it was estimated that differentiation of patches recognized in community level would be related to artificial interference and those in sub-communities levels to natural process such as progression of succession. On the other hand, restoration plans in viewpoints of restoration and landscape ecology were suggested to improve ecological quality of Mt. hwangryung.
The crystal and molecular structure of thiosinamine, $H_2NCSNHCH_2CHCH_2$, has been determined by X-ray diffraction method. The crystals are monoclinic, space group $P2_1/a$ with four molecules in a unit cell of dimensions, a = 9.819(3), b = 8.553(3), c = 9.170(2)${\AA}$, ${\beta}$ = 127.3(1)$^{\circ}$, and z = 4. Intensity data for 814 reflections were collected with a Rigaku-Denki automatic four circle diffractometer. The structure was solved by direct and Fourier methods. Refinements were carried out by full matrix least-squares method to a final R value of 0.046. The thiourea unit is planar, and the bond lengths and angles in that unit agree well with those in the compounds which contain a thiourea moiety. The molecules are linked together by the two patterns of N-H${\cdots}$S hydrogen bonds along the b-axis.

Low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes are recently emerged due to its excellent performance. The standard for European high definition satellite digital video broadcast, DVB-S2 has adopted LDPC codes as a channel coding scheme. This paper proposes a DVB-S2 LDPC decoder architecture using a hybrid parity check matrix which is efficient in hardware implementation for both decoders and encoders. The hybrid H-matrices are constructed so that both the semi-random technique and the partly parallel structure can be applied to design encoders and decoders. Using the hybrid H-matrix scheme, the architecture of LDPC decoder for DVB-S2 can be very practical and efficient. In addition, we show a new Variable Node processor Unit (VNU) architecture to reuse the VNU for various code rates and optimized block memory placement to reuse. We design a DVB-S2 LDPC decoder of code rate 1/2 usng the proposed architecture. We estimate the performance of the DVB-S2 LDPC decoder and compare it with other decoders.

Modular construction has benefits such as short construction duration and high productivity owing to the production in factory and owing to simultaneous on-site work. However, rework occurs in modular construction and the rework affects the efficiency of modular construction. The almost of causes of rework are exist in design process. To reduce the cause of rework, the information flow of the design process should be managed and the plan to reduce rework should be included. However, the modular construction has complex process because of impeded unit production so it is hard to manage the information flow in design process. Moreover, when the plan to reduce rework is included, the design process will be more complicated. Therefore, the objective of this research is to suggest the design process including the rework reduction plan and to alleviate the complexity of design process by using Dependency Structure Matrix(DSM). By using DSM, the iteration and feedback in design process is reduced and it can be expected that rework in modular project can be reduced by using suggested design process.
