Categorization of UX method based on UX expert's competence model (UX 전문가의 역량 모델에 기반한 수행역량유사도에 따른 UX 방법론 분류에 대한 연구)

  • As the local manufacturing industry has entered a phase of stagnation, service and product design based on user experience has been highlighted as an alternative for the innovation. However, SMEs(Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) are still struggling to overcome the current crisis. One of the reasons is that SMEs do not have enough contact points with the validated UX firms and experts. Thus, SMEs has a high barrier to invest in new opportunity area, user experience. In this study, we aim to figure out UX experts' competence to perform the UX method to solve the UX problems based on the KSA framework(Knowledge, Skill, Attitude). Based on the literature review and expert workshop, we grouped the UX method according to the similarity of the competence required to conduct the method. With cluster analysis, 5 different groups of UX method were defined based on the competence, Panoramic Analysis, Meticulous Observation and Analysis, Intuitive Interpretation, Agile Visualization, and Logical Inspection. The results would be applied to compose a portfolio of UX experts and to implement a mechanism that could recommend the professional experts to the company.

  • 최근 현대인들은 웹 환경에 대해 높은 관심을 보이고 있다. 또한 웹 환경에서 HTML5의 표준화에 따라 사용자의 경험, 즉 'UX(User Experience)' 설계에 대한 관심 또한 높아지고 있다. 이러한 환경을 차세대 웹 플랫폼이라 한다. 차세대 웹 플랫폼이라 함은 HTML5라는 웹 표준 규약에 따라 설계한 것을 뜻한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 차세대 웹 플랫폼의 UX 설계에 대한 최신 트렌드와 콘텐츠 UX에 대해서 설명하고 반응형 디자인에 따른 웹사이트 수익과의 관계까지 실험결과를 토대로 제시하고자 한다.

A Study on UX Design Process Lecture Based on Modified PBL (Problem-Based Learning) (변형된 PBL 기반의 UX 디자인 수업 설계 연구)

  • PBL is expected to be very useful in the engineering project course that leads students to active learning in problem solving process. But it is not actively utilized because of various problems. In this study, modified PBL lectures were laid out for a course that practice UX design process. Modified PBL lectures provide theoretical class and two PBL practices. The variant is that the problem design is made by the students themselves on a weekly basis, rather than by the instructor, and that the two PBL processes consist of one project. The results of this study are meaningful as a basic data in PBL-based engineering college project class. Additional discussion of how to evaluate grades needs to be specified.

A Study on the Meaning Extension of User-Centeredness in UX Design (사용자 경험 디자인의 사용자 중심성에 대한 의미 확장 연구)

  • The purpose of the study was to induce meaning of the UX design from users' interview. The study covers interviews from 20 untact finance application users in their twenties in written form. It aims to examine previous studies on UX design and to overcome their shortcomings by categorizing usability qualities focusing on verbs used in the interview. The followings are the result: Usability of UX design can be summarized into Unity, Trust, Persistency, Recognition and Approachability of the information to the 20 users in their twenties. As for the data earned from interviews focusing on verbs, usability included Security, Familiarity, Accessibility, Convenience of Operation and Visibility. Each of the qualities fell into related categories such as Security, Information, Brand and Design. In conclusion, analysis based on verb choices led to better understanding of the user-based experience compared to using objective means in previous studies and can be a suggestion to make up for errors in the former evaluation process.

Analysis of Priority in the Robotaxi Design Elements : Focusing on Application of AHP Methodology (로보택시 설계 요소 간 우선순위 분석 : AHP 방법론 적용을 중심으로)

  • research on user-friendly experience design is crucial to reduce resistance and enhance acceptance of robotaxis. This study analyzes the prioritization of design factors in robotaxi systems and provides design guidelines based on user experience. Using the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) technique, users' perceived importance of four primary design factors and sixteen 16 sub-design elements were assessed, and comfort and safety were top priorities. The results showed that the artificial intelligence agent was the most critical design factor, followed by driving guidance information, interior design, and exterior design. These findings offer valuable insights for robotaxi professionals, and could assist in informed decision-making and creating user-centered design guidelines.

  • Currently, the world's population has already entered a super-aging era, and the rate is expected to increase rapidly to about 40% by 2050. However, the rapid development of automation technology and the online service sector, the main technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, are still further isolating them in a world where many inconveniences and development technologies are applied. As such, alienation in daily life is widely expanded in various fields, but the financial service sector is one of the must-use areas regardless of age because of its strong nature in the public service sector, and is a very important factor in the period when branches are rapidly decreasing. However, the current utilization rate of mobile banking services is not around 5%, so users over 60 are rarely able to use them. The UX design of the most frequently used remittance service screen in mobile banking services was proposed, and the difficulty of trying to find the preferred bank among 56 or more banks was solved by analyzing the usage rate of each bank and dividing it into three stages by age group from 50 or older. In addition, it was designed to strengthen customized services by showing their recently used banks as the top priority. The design proposed in this study obtained an average of 4.8 points or more out of 5 points as a result of usability satisfaction through interviews with less than 50 senior groups. This study is believed to help each bank upgrade its different mobile banking designs in a unified manner.

  • More than 80% of the deaths in Korea are due to chronic diseases. Mobile applications continue to emerge where IT companies and medical hospitals work together to manage chronic diseases. In recent years, the development of artificial intelligence chatbot has been under way to improve the efficiency and convenience of management. Since the chatbot process the conversation by a dialogue, users who are familiar with the GUI-based environment may not be familiar with accessibility or usage. In this paper, we analyze UI / UX of the mobile application that manages diabetes in chronic diseases, and present the UI / UX design of chatbot through this result.

"Hey Alexa, Would You Create a Color Palette?" UX/UI Designers' Perspectives on Using Natural Language to Interact with Future Intelligent Design Assistants ("알렉사, 색상 팔레트를 만들어줄 수 있어?" 지능형 디자인 비서와 자연어로 협업을 수행할 UX/UI 디자이너의 생각)

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been inserted into people's lives through Intelligent Virtual Assistants (IVA), like Alexa. Moreover, intelligent systems have expanded to design studios. This research delves into designers' perspectives on developing AI-based practices and examines the challenges of adopting future intelligent design assistants. We surveyed UX/UI professionals in Brazil to understand how they use IVAs and AI design tools. We also explored a scenario featuring the use of Alexa Sensei, a hypothetical voice-controlled AI-based design assistant mixing Alexa and Adobe Sensei characteristics. The findings indicate respondents have had limited opportunities to work with AI, but they expect intelligent systems to improve the efficiency of the design process. Further, majority of the respondents predicted that they would be able to collaborate creatively with AI design systems. Although designers anticipated challenges in natural language interaction, those who already adopted IVAs were less resistant to the idea of working with Alexa Sensei as an AI design assistant.

  • The information processing capabilities of contemporary people have reached its limit as the daily life in an information society calls for prompt judgment and decisions while being overwhelmed with information. We no longer make optimal decisions after analyzing all necessary data and information and instead make automatic decisions based on just a handful of important information. Such a phenomenon can be observed not just in daily life but also on the internet. People believe they are making a rational choice when selecting and purchasing a product online, but in fact subconscious thoughts and behavior triggered immediately by certain parts of the brain without our knowing are what makes the decision. Therefore, this study seeks to investigate the cases of various UX designs where the persuasion method based on Cialdini's psychology of persuasion is applied and to suggest a direction for a more effective user interface design based on the findings.
