In [3], [4] and [5], Hochster and Huneke introduced the notions of the tight closure of an ideal and of the weak F-regularity of a ring. This notion enabled us to give new proofs of many results in commutative algebra. A regular ring is known to be F-regular, and a Gorenstein local ring is proved to be F-regular provided that one ideal generated by a system of parameters (briefly s.o.p.) is tightly closed. In fact, a Gorenstein local ring is weakly F-regular if and only if there exists a system of parameters ideal which is tightly closed [3]. But we do not know whether this fact is true or not if a ring is not Gorenstein, in particular, a ring is a Cohen Macaulay (briefly C-M) local ring. In this paper, we will prove this in the case of an 1-dimensional C-M local ring. For this, we study the F-rationality and the normality of the ring. And we will also prove that a C-M local ring is to be Gorenstein under some additional condition about the tight closure.

Owing to improvement of socioeconomic status during recent decades in Korea, incidence of hepatitis A has rapidly decreased, especially among children. However, this status has paradoxically caused a steady increase of adult patients with HAV infection, causing new medical issues associated with aggravated clinical symptoms. The present study reports an adult case of acute viral hepatitis type A treated with oriental medicine. The elevated biochemical findings(AST, ALT, gamma-GTP, bilirubin), physical symptoms (general weakness, nausea, right flank pain, itching sign), and serological makers (anti-HAV IgM and anti-HAV IgG) were normalized within four weeks. Also, sonographic examination showed a normal pattern on an enlarged liver image. This study informed us about the clinical capacity of oriental medicine for adult patients with acute viral hepatitis type A.

In this paper, SPICE program which is widely used in analysis of general circuit on electronic and electrical field has been applied to DC-DC converter. We have selected Forward type which is widely used us SMPS(Switched Mode Power Supply) of various electronic equipments, and have confirmed the waveforms of circuit operation, transfer of energy and resetting in transformer. And the procedure which the output voltage of converter, including the control circuit, has been stabilized from the transient state to the steady state by controlling the duty ratio of switch is presented. We have compared SPICE simulation with experiment and have verified the validity of SPICE simulation.

Proprioception means the ability to perceive the sensation of position and movement of body. As it is transmitted to central nervous system and used in feed-back or feed-forward motor control, proprioception allows us to keep our normal movement and normal balance activity. However, the conditions such as injury, disease, aging and fatigue can damage the proprioceptiive sensation of position, movement and lead to a functional impairment and additional damages in musculoskeletal system, because they alter the amount of proprioceptive ability that transfer into the central nervous system. The purpose of this study was to identify the definition and the function of proprioception, to look into variations in injury, disease, aging and fatigue that can be easily met in clinical application and eventually to provide valuable aid for assessment and treatment.

In the current situation to move toward the aging society, it's needed to prepare housing planning for retirement community in consideration of the physical and psychological and behavioral features of the elderly to raise their quality of life. The purpose of this study was to map out proper housing planning for retirement community in consideration of the physical, psychological and behavioral characteristics of senior citizens, instead of just focusing on comfortable and convenient one.

This paper analyzes how a buyer can determine the economic replenishment policy when the supplier allows delay in payments for an order of a product. For the analysis, it is assumed that the length of credit period is a function of the buyer's amount of purchase, and inventory is depleted not only by buyer's demand but also by deterioration. Investigation of the properties of the model developed allows us to develop an algorithm whose validity is illustrated using an example problem.

Many reports have stated that some of the pathogenic bacteria can obtain iron from ferroproteins, such as cytochrome C, ferritin, hemin, hemoglobin, and myoglobin. These reports prompted us to determine if an opportunistic pathogenic fungus, Candida albicans, can utilize ferroproteins to circumvent the iron-regulatory effect of transferrin. The following assays were carried out to measure in vitro growth stimulation by the ferroproteins: as an initial step, C. albicans was cultured in iron-free (pretreated with apotransferrin for 24h) culture medium. Once Candida albicans yeast cell growth reached stasis from iron starvation, individual ferroproteins were added to the culture media. Results showed that hemin, hemoglobin, and myoglobin supported a partial growth recovery. Additional studies with haptoglobin, a serum protein that interacts with the globin moiety of certain ferroproteins, established that C. albicans could obtain iron from the haptoglobin-ferroprotein complexes. These data indicate that the heme part of the ferroproteins is the source of iron. This implies that heme oxygenase, CaHMX1 might be involved in bringing about dissociation of heme-containing protein for iron-acquisition. In addition, anticandidal activity of transferrin takes place not only by the process of iron regulation, but also by direct interaction with the yeast cells.

The ever unsatisfied demand for more channel and bandwidth to the limited installalion of existing communication facilities, and explosively increasing expanses for the cable installation fee force us to revive once patented but unused idea of multlplexign in time, that is, PCM in telephony. The authors designed, artworked and prototyped PCM 24 since 1972 and tested the first PCM chaulel Hank between Noryang Jin and yang see stations to prove that the resust of their PCM 24 Channel Bank implementation is viable and promissing.

This paper suggests a new heuristic to improve robotic cells efficiency with a finite buffer. An efficient heuristic for parts sequencing with this configuration is developed. Analyzing robot\\`s movements and defining the events for the completion times of robot\\`s segmental activities enable us to develop a mathematical model that can be used to estimate, the completion time in the robotic cell. The robotic cell is consisting of two computer numerical control machines and a finite buffer to manufacture multiple parts. The developed heuristic can be used to estimate an optimum or near optimum parts sequences for this configuration. Numerical examples are followed to show the validity of the heuristic.

The UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) offers numerous benefits to the military. The benefits it can provide are to perform an operation without loss of life and economic life cycle cost. This clearly showed us the benefits of using UAVs in the operation, especially in politically hostile and sensitive areas. While the American military first used UAVs, it is Israel that has used them best in real situations. In this paper, it is summarized the types and the OPCONs (Operational Concept) of UAVs and the values. Looking at the technology trends, and it is showed the benefits of UAV in the economic side feasibility, to emphasis on the future values of the UAVs as a newly emerging weapon systems.
