A Case Study on the Educational Utilization of School UCC in SNS (SNS를 이용한 학교현장 제작 UCC의 교육적 활용 사례 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how UCC can be prepared in the school environment, to measure the ways it can enhance education and evaluate the many different circumstances it can be used. In this study, the concept of UCC was researched and it was discovered which classifications and features can be created in the school environment. There are four educational uses of UCC; in class lessons, student guidance, school events and counseling for parents. This study suggests ways of implementation which will facilitate using SNS in the school environment.

  • This study aims to apply a teaching-learning model using science oriented UCC created by students themselves(4C model) in a gifted students' project learning and investigate its effects in science-related affective property by gender in order to use UCC systematically in a gifted students' project learning course. After conducting of gifted students' using UCC project learning, We surveyed gifted students' recognition about it. Nonparametric test has done with the results of before and after science-related affective property tests of them. As results, gifted students took an active part in 'using UCC project learning'. Girls are more active and interested than boys whereas more boys felt a difficulty in creating UCC than girls. Girls' creativity was improved and anxiety about science was decreased whereas the results of boys were not statistically significant. Therefore, 'using UCC project learning' is more effective than tha of boys to girls.

  • UCC is highlighted in so many field for information system area and new business part. So many people made UCC and it does effect on advertise area and marketing area. But it is stoped developed new motion picture editing system for UCC, so it is need to make new paradigm for easy develop UCC system. This paper introduce to build authorizing tool for UCC. Our system is different other motion picture edition system and very easy to build UCC.

A Comparative Study m the Consumer's Attitude and Effect of the UCC as a Commercial Media among Countries (상업적 매체로서의 UCC에 대한 소비자의 태도와 효과에 대한 국가간 비교 연구)

  • UCC paradigm based on Web 2.0 has made new business models and came to the forefront as a commercial media. The purpose of this study is to analyze the customer attitudes toward UCC and it effects as a commercial media. Based on prior studies of Internet and Web advertising, informativeness, entertainment, irritation, trust, usefulness, ease of use, incentives, innovativeness, and flow were identified as affecting factors of the attitude of UCC advertising. Results show that all factors except ease of use and incentives significantly related to the attitude of UCC advertising in Korea. In China, all factors except informativeness, entertainment, and usefulness were found to be significantly related to the attitude of UCC advertising. Customer attitude toward UCC advertising was also found to be significantly related to the such effects as brand attitude, word of mouth and intention to buy in both countries. This study contributes to improve the understanding of UCC as a commercial media and provide the base of activation strategies for it according to the cultural differences.

The Effect of Social Presence and Affection on Participation in the UCC Service (UCC 서비스 참여에서의 사회적 실재감과 감정차원의 중요성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, we investigate the effect of social presence and affection on the UCC service participation. We have conducted a face-to-face survey along with an e-mail survey and obtained a total of 329 responses. The findings show that social presence has a significant impact on pleasure and arousal. Social presence in turn show a positive impact on participation in the UCC service. Meanwhile, pleasure shows a negative effect on the UCC service participation, while arousal very strongly and positively affects the UCC service participation. The significance of this study can be found in that it empirically demonstrates the importance of social presence and affection in promoting the UCC service.

A Study on UCC Video Editing for Sensibility Delivery (감성 전달을 위한 UCC 동영상 편집 방안에 관한 연구)

  • UCC (User Created Contents) video rapidly rose as key contents of internet pop culture as a medium of 'sensibility delivery' that is created by a user without a commercial purpose. 'Sensibility delivery' is the ultimate purpose of UCC video and it can only be completed with 'well composed' storytelling. However, it is difficult to expect high degree of completion from noncommercial UCC videos due to an instable production environment and many variables. Thus, this study has been suggested 'detailed storytelling editing' process from editing phase in order to minimize problems of instable UCC videos. This suggestion based on actual results and award winning works of UCC videos of a team of research will raise a bond of sympathy, lead creative change, and expand the function of 'sensibility delivery' by increasing the degree of completion of work with unified final cut.

A Study on College Students' Experiences for UCC Assignment in a Character Education Class (교양 인성 수업에서 대학생들의 인성을 주제로 한 UCC 과제 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to have college students who took 'University Character Education Using YouTube Videos', which was opened as a liberal arts course in college, directly produce UCC assignments with the theme of personality. Despite the recent paradigm shift in learner-centered education, teacher-centered education still hinders learners' motivation to participate in classes. To solve this problem, a learner-led UCC production process is necessary for the practice of effective learner-centered education. For this purpose, a phenomenological research method was applied. The research participants were 10 students, in-depth interview was used for data collection, and Colaizzi's research method was selected for data analysis. As a result of the analysis, 9 themes, 4 theme clusters, and 2 categories were derived. The results are as follows. First, they recognized that the UCC assignments were a field of maturity, such as practicing the right thoughts and actions, and re-establishing the concept of character. Second, they said that the UCC production process was an opportunity to increase their self-esteem. Third, they showed a more mature personality by recognizing that the UCC assignments became a chance to pay attention to others beyond themselves. Fourth, they had the greatest difficulty in selecting a topic while carrying out the UCC project, and they were experiencing the limitations of high-quality projects due to the technical immaturity of UCC production. Finally, this study was concluded by discussing the educational implications based on the results. These results provide a suggestion that more effective character education can be expected when tasks led by learners will be developed and an interactive arena where students can be shared are provided.

  • UCC(User Created Content) has brought about much change in the way Internet users produce, publish, and share digital content. That means that Internet users are participating in the UCC service much mure voluntarily, and interacting each other mure proactively to meet their social-psychological needs such as self-expression, social presence and so on. Also, there has been the sharp increase in variety and volume of digital content on Internet. The reasons why are that UCC enables Internet users to produce and publish their own content with much low cost, and lowers the entrance barriers to the digital content market. Like this, UCC causes the unbundling of the value chain of digital content, resulting in the high uncertainty and complexity, and then leading to the low healthiness of UCC value chain in terms of productivity, robustness, niche creation, and safety. Thus, this paper is to identify the status and problems of UCC value chain and present the way how to enhance the healthiness of UCC value chain more comprehensively and systematically.

UCC-Resilient HD Content Watermarking Scheme on DCT Compressed Domain (UCC 편집에 강인한 DCT 압축영역 기반 고화질 영상 워터마킹 기법)

  • We propose a novel high-definition content watermarking algorithm that is highly feasible in UCC (User Created Contents) environment. We begin by addressing an association between broadcasting content and UCC in a view of copyrights, then present watermark requirements by analyzing various UCC editing-effect. Also, we provide a brief review of previous watermarking techniques that are supposed to satisfy the requirements. Our proposed scheme inserts a invisible watermark into both DC and AC components on $8{\times}8$ block DCT domain and extracts them after synchronization using DC image. Experimental results show that our technique satisfies the requirements of invisibility and robustness to a variety of attacks such as rotation, scaling, cropping, and JPEG compression, etc. Note that the proposed scheme is highly resilient to UCC edit attacks that are combined by many different types of watermark attacks.

Instructional Design of Self-directed Information Communication Ethics Education based on the UCC Dramatization Learning (UCC 활용 극화학습 기반 자기주도적 정보통신윤리교육 수업 설계)

  • In recent years, we can see attempts to take advantage of UCC in a way of the education. But in the precedent studies there are not many guidance plans to help teachers apply UCC in the classroom. The purpose of this paper is to suggest a guidance plan to help teachers apply UCC in the classroom and to analyze the effect of educational using UCC Dramatization learning model on the expanding of students' self-directed learning ability in the information communication ethics education. For this, first, a teacher executes preliminary inspection about self-directed learning ability second, students study about "how to prevent them from cyber crime" using UCC Dramatization learning model. Third a teacher executes post inspection about self-directed learning ability and measures the degree of improvement on self-directed learning ability. The final step is to extract the implications from the analysis of the experiments.
