  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the factors influencing the nursing profession perception of nursing students. Methods: Data were collected with a questionnaire distributed to 305 nursing students in U city. Data were collected from March 30 to June 15, 2019. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS 22.0 program. Results: There were significant differences in the level of interpersonal trust (F=5.42, p<.001), empathy ability (F=3.13, p=.015), interpersonal relationship ability (F=3.64, p=.006) and nursing profession perception (F=11.95, p<.001) on the major satisfaction. The level of interpersonal trust (r=.21, p<.001), empathy ability (r=.27, p<.001) and interpersonal relationship ability (r=.28, p<.001) were positively correlated with nursing profession perception. Also empathy ability (r=.11, p=.047), interpersonal relationship ability (r=.49, p<.001) with interpersonal trust and correlation of empathy ability with interpersonal relationship ability (r=.32, p<.001) were positively correlated with each other. The significant variables that influence the nursing profession perception were grade, major satisfaction, empathy ability and interpersonal relationship ability. These factors were responsible for 21.3%. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that educational programs are necessary to raise the nursing perception of nursing students and reduce the turnover of nurses.

  • Purpose: This research investigates whether the existence of preannouncing price discount before purchase has an effect on after regret about purchasing and price fairness perception. Moreover, this paper examines whether the preannouncing effects on regret (or price fairness perception) are moderated by motive inference type (or brand trust). Research design, data and methodology: This experimental design consisted of total 8 between-subjects full factorial, which is completed by 2 (preannouncing price discount before purchase) × 2 (motive inference type) × 2 (consumer's brand trust level). Results: First, regret (or price fairness) differs depending on the presence/absence of preannouncing price discount before purchase and price discount motive inference type. Second, interaction effect of preannouncing price discount presence/absence before purchase and price discount motive inference type on regret (or price fairness) after purchase differs depending on motive inference type (or brand trust). Conclusions: Preannouncing external cue could decrease the possibility of consumers to regret and prevent consumers perceiving price change as unfair. Thus, corporations should sufficiently explain to consumers about preannouncing and specific reason of price fall in order to decrease regret caused by price fall and to increase price fairness perception from preannouncing effect.

  • Public disapproval of National Assembly is resulted not only from the structural peculiarity of its decision-making process, but from the gap between public expectation of the National Assembly and its performance. While Korean electorate, being interested in politics with relatively high level of political efficacy, hold higher expectation from politics, the National Assembly fails to satisfy public expectation. In particular, irresponsible behaviors of representatives and the crippled operation of the National assembly are responsible for the low level of public trust to it. Institutional reform and individual efforts of representatives are necessary to promote public trust toward the National Assembly.

  • When a consumer needs a product or service and multiple sellers are available online, the process of selecting a seller to buy online from is complex since the process involves many behavioral dimensions that have to be taken into account. As a part of this selection process, consumers may set minimum trust expectation that can be used to screen out less trustworthy sellers. In the previous research, the level of consumers' trust expectation has been anchored on two important factors: product involvement and perceived risk. Product involvement refers to the extent to which a consumer perceives a specific product important. Thus, the higher product involvement may result in the higher trust expectation in sellers. On the other hand, other related studies found that when consumers perceived a higher level of risk (e.g., credit card fraud risk), they set higher trust expectation as well. While abundant research exists addressing the relationship between product involvement and perceived risk, little attention has been paid to the integrative view of the link between the two constructs and their impacts on the trust expectation. The present paper is a step toward filling this research gap. The purpose of this paper is to understand the process by which a consumer chooses an online merchant by examining the relationships among product involvement, perceived risk, trust expectation, and intention to buy from an e-tailer. We specifically focus on the mediating role of perceived risk in the relationships between enduring product involvement and the trust expectation. That is, we question whether product involvement affects the trust expectation directly without mediation or indirectly mediated by perceived risk. The research model with four hypotheses was initially tested using data gathered from 635 respondents through an online survey method. The structural equation modeling technique with partial least square was used to validate the instrument and the proposed model. The results showed that three out of the four hypotheses formulated were supported. First, we found that the intention to buy from a digital storefront is positively and significantly influenced by the trust expectation, providing support for H4 (trust expectation ${\rightarrow}$ purchase intention). Second, perceived risk was found to be a strong predictor of trust expectation, supporting H2 as well (perceived risk ${\rightarrow}$ trust expectation). Third, we did not find any evidence of direct influence of product involvement, which caused H3 to be rejected (product involvement ${\rightarrow}$ trust expectation). Finally, we found significant positive relationship between product involvement and perceived risk (H1: product involvement ${\rightarrow}$ perceived risk), which suggests that the possibility of complete mediation of perceived risk in the relationship between enduring product involvement and the trust expectation. As a result, we conducted an additional test for the mediation effect by comparing the original model with the revised model without the mediator variable of perceived risk. Indeed, we found that there exists a strong influence of product involvement on the trust expectation (by intentionally eliminating the variable of perceived risk) that was suppressed (i.e., mediated) by the perceived risk in the original model. The Sobel test statistically confirmed the complete mediation effect. Results of this study offer the following key findings. First, enduring product involvement is positively related to perceived risk, implying that the higher a consumer is enduringly involved with a given product, the greater risk he or she is likely to perceive with regards to the online purchase of the product. Second, perceived risk is positively related to trust expectation. A consumer with great risk perceptions concerning the online purchase is likely to buy from a highly trustworthy online merchant, thereby mitigating potential risks. Finally, product involvement was found to have no direct influence on trust expectation, but the relationship between the two constructs was indirect and mediated by the perceived risk. This is perhaps an important theoretical integration of two separate streams of literature on product involvement and perceived risk. The present research also provides useful implications for practitioners as well as academicians. First, one implication for practicing managers in online retail stores is that they should invest in reducing the perceived risk of consumers in order to lower down the trust expectation and thus increasing the consumer's intention to purchase products or services. Second, an academic implication is that perceived risk mediates the relationship between enduring product involvement and trust expectation. Further research is needed to elaborate the theoretical relationships among the constructs under consideration.

  • Recently, as Internet enters WEB 2.0, many social network services through such as Facebook, Twitter and Youtube appeared. In these social network sites, users can easily make friends, join groups and access others personal information. Therefore, a malicious user can easily gather information of others. In order to protect user's personal information from the unauthenticated users, we propose privacy protection mechanism based on key assignment and user's trust level. A master-key is generated for each users and is segmented into a core-key and several sub-key. The master-key stores at the information owner's side and the sub-key will be distributed to requestor according to the relation and trust level. At last, in order to proof the efficiency, the performance of our proposed mechanism is compared with those of existing mechanisms.

  • The main purpose of this study is to empirically examine and to develop the optimal model about an influential relationship between the types of source-based trust and knowledge sharing of local government officials. Procedural and distributive justice-based calculative trust in organization, cognition-based trust in organization, cognition-based trust in supervisor, cognition-based trust in coworkers, and emotion-based trust in coworkers were set up as independent variables of this research model, and sharing of tacit knowledge and explicit knowledge based on the knowledge content as dependent variables. The research results shows that the suitability of each model has approximate value to the required level, and that emotion-based trust in coworkers significantly affects knowledge sharing for both the individual and integrated factors in hypothetical influential relationship. This study is expected to help to enable knowledge sharing in various situations by dividing the concepts of trust that affect knowledge sharing into a few types, and deriving the influential model of knowledge sharing by types.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to derive a strategy to manage the relationship termination intention of the partner in a B2B transaction. To achieve this goal, the relationship compatibility was classified into goal incongruity, domain dissensus, perception difference, and verified the effects of these variables on relationship termination intention. Trust which is well known as a variable which develops the relationship and prevents relationship termination is used as a moderating variable in this study. This study identifies and highlights which relationship incompatibility increases relationship termination intention more when trust is high and when it is low. Research design, data, and methodology: The data of this study were obtained via an interview with 274 purchasing decision makers. Results: It was found that goal incongruity and domain dissensus increased the partner's relationship termination intention. Trust amplified the effect of goal incongruity which increased relationship termination intention, but reduced the effect of domain dissensus which increase relationship termination intention. Conclusions: Through this research, it has emerged that the relationship can be terminated because of high trust. If a partner has a high level of trust in the past in a company, it should take more care not to perceive goal incongruity.

  • This research has attempted to asses the relationship between trust management, the element of service discretion act, and the quality of the service. The research model and assumption have been set up based on such a theoretical research and the demonstrative analysis of the customer-encountering employees of five-star hotels in Seoul. The results of the study are as follows; First, the rationalization of management can be achieved by improving the service through having a command of trust management as a management strategy. Second, there has been significant differences between variables such as the degree of importance and accomplishment of trust management. And it tells us that it is necessary to improve the range of service discretion acts up to the level where the difference between importance and accomplishment is not in existence. Third, the variable changes according to demographic characteristics show us the necessity of providing individualized education by recognizing the differences among groups. Fourth, the trust management has a considerable effect on the quality of the service, and this indicates that the quality of the service can be improved through expanding the range of service discretion acts of customer-encountering employees.
