This study is a generalization of 'stable dynamics' recently suggested by Nesterov and de Palma[29]. Stable dynamics is a new model which describes and provides a stable state of congestion in urban transportation networks. In comparison with user equilibrium model that is common in analyzing transportation networks, stable dynamics requires few parameters and is coincident with intuitions and observations on the congestion. Therefore it is expected to be an useful analysis tool for transportation planners. An equilibrium in stable dynamics needs only maximum flow in each arc and Wardrop[33] Principle. In this study, we generalize the stable dynamics into the model with multiple traffic classes. We classify the traffic into the types of vehicle such as cars, buses and trucks. Driving behaviors classified by age, sex and income-level can also be classes. We develop an equilibrium with multiple traffic classes. We can find the equilibrium by solving the well-known network problem, multicommodity minimum cost network flow problem.
The nonlocal static bending, buckling, free and forced vibrations of graphene nanosheets are examined based on the Kirchhoff plate theory and Taylor expansion approach. The nonlocal nanoplate model incorporates the length scale parameter which can capture the small scale effect. The governing equations are derived using Hamilton's principle and the Navier-type solution is developed for simply-supported graphene nanosheets. The analytical results are proposed for deflection, natural frequency, amplitude of forced vibration and buckling load. Moreover, the effects of nonlocal parameter, half wave number and three-dimensional sizes on the static, dynamic and stability responses of the graphene nanosheets are discussed. Some illustrative examples are also addressed to verify the present model, methodology and solution. The results show that the new nanoplate model produces larger deflection, smaller circular frequencies, amplitude and buckling load compared with the classical model.

This study is for detecting the Braess Paradox by stable dynamics in general transportation networks. Stable dynamics, suggested by Nesterov and de Palma[18], is a new model which describes and provides a stable state of congestion in urban transportation networks. In comparison with user equilibrium model based on link latency function in analyzing transportation networks, stable dynamics requires few parameters and is coincident with intuitions and observations on the congestion. Therefore it is expected to be an useful analysis tool for transportation planners. The phenomenon that increasing capacity of a network, for example creating new links, may decrease its performance is called Braess Paradox. It has been studied intensively under user equilibrium model with link latency function since Braess[5] demonstrated a paradoxical example. However it is an open problem to detect the Braess Paradox under stable dynamics. In this study, we suggest a method to detect the Paradox in general networks under stable dynamics. In our model, we decide whether Braess Paradox will occur in a given network. We also find Braess links or Braess crosses if a network permits the paradox. We also show an example how to apply it in a network.
Chloride corrosion has become the main factor of reducing the service life of reinforced concrete structures. The object of this paper is to propose a theoretical model that predicts the service life of chloride-corrosive concrete under fatigue load. In the process of modeling, the concrete is divided into two parts, microcrack and matrix. Taking the variation of mcirocrack area caused by fatigue load into account, an equation of chloride diffusion coefficient under fatigue load is established, and then the predictive model is developed based on Fick's second law. This model has an analytic solution and is reasonable in comparison to previous studies. Finally, some factors (chloride diffusion coefficient, surface chloride concentration and fatigue parameter) are analyzed to further investigate this model. The results indicate: the time to pit-to-crack transition and time to crack growth should not be neglected when predicting service life of concrete in strong corrosive condition; the type of fatigue loads also has a great impact on lifetime of concrete. In generally, this model is convenient to predict service life of chloride-corrosive concrete with different water to cement ratio, under different corrosive condition and under different types of fatigue load.
This study deals with the single-product production and transportation model with dynamic demand over finite time horizon, in which the optimal production(order) quantities, transportation modes and the number of each vehicles are determined simultaneously. The finite number of identical vehicles with capacity constraint is given to each mode. Production and transportation costs are assumed to be concave function for generality. For a relevant mathematical model formulated, the theorems and properties are discussed to present the efficient algorithm. A numerical example is solved to illustrate the algorithm developed.

The purpose of this study is to develop a traffic assignment model where the variable of signal intersection delay is taken into account in assigning traffic in large-scale network settings. Indeed, despite the fact that the majority of the increase in travel time or cost involving congested urban network or interrupted flow are accounted for by stop delays or congested delays at signal intersections, the existing traffic assignment models did not reflect this. The traffic assignment model considering intersection delays presented in this study was built based on the existing traffic assignment models, which were added to by the analysis technique for the computation of intersection delay provided in Korea Highway Capacity Manual. We can conclude that a multiple variety of simulation tests prove that this model can be applied to real network settings. Accordingly, this model shows the possibility of utilizing a model considering intersection delay for traffic policy decisions through analysis of effects of changes in traffic facilities on large urban areas.
The land use-transportation models typically have complicated model structure that is good for empirical execution but bad for theoretical probe. This complexity makes it very difficult to derive the first-order conditions for system optimization in tractable forms. Yu and Rhee (2011) and Rhee (2012) show how to simplify the derivative of the model's objective function with respect to policy variables in the computable general equilibrium model of land use and transportation. However, the travel demand in their model was fixed. This drawback fundamentally limits the applicability of their methodology in the planning field. We relax this restriction. Once this is done, we can employ the methodology developed in analyzing the impacts of various types of policy instruments in the models where land market is treated endogenously and transportation network is embedded.
A dynamic transportation management should be applied specially in AM peak because AM peak is more critical than PM peak in traffic volume and demand. AM peak trip can be characterized by commuting and schooling. which have the high level of usage on public transportation, and constraint on arrival time. So transportation management applied in AM peak could deal with a mode choice and an arrival time constrain. Researchers were involved in the dynamic transportation assignment models for management of congested traffic network. But, there were no models which considered a mode choice and an arrival time constrain should be included in management of AM peak. So there are limits to use exist models to control and analyze AM peak traffic. In this study, it is proposed the combined dynamic transportation model, considering a mode choice and the start time selection with arrival time constrains, based on Ran and Boyce's model. The proposed model is verified the compatibility by applying to the newly designed time space expanded network. The result shows that proposed model consistent with dynamic user optimal travel pattern. From this we certificate the applicability of the proposed model to control and analyze AM peak traffic.

With the advent of the fourth industrial revolution era, there has been a growing interest in deep learning using big data, and studies using deep learning have been actively conducted in various fields. In the transportation sector, there are many advantages to using deep learning in research as much as using deep traffic big data. In this study, a short -term travel speed prediction model using LSTM, a deep learning technique, was constructed to predict the travel speed. The LSTM model suitable for time series prediction was selected considering that the travel speed data, which is used for prediction, is time series data. In order to predict the travel speed more precisely, we constructed a model that reflects both temporal and spatial effects. The model is a short-term prediction model that predicts after one hour. For the analysis data, the 5minute travel speed collected from the Seoul Transportation Information Center was used, and the analysis section was selected as a part of Gangnam where traffic was congested.

Generation and measurement methods of EG/AD model ice, which is used in KIOST ice model basin are investigated for improvement of its properties. Temperature of seed water, air temperature in the freezing phase and the target air temperature in the tempering phase were changed in the cold room, and the properties of model ice was measured in this conditions. We also verified a conventional measuring method of flexural strength of model ice caused a little measuring error in cold room, so that we suggested a new measuring method that must be used higher supports than double the thickness of the model ice. In this study, we improved the generation and measurement technique of EG/AD model ice, and the developed procedure at cold room can be applied to the KIOST ice model basin.
