AMIS기법 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of AMIS Method)

  • The methods currently in use to evaluate traffic impacts on the transportation network involve some fundamental shortcomings. First, the methodss do not properly take into account regional and local traffic impacts on the transportation network simultaneously. Second, temporal distribution of traffic, a major contributor to transportation problems, is not accurately accounted for. Third, traffic impact studies require costly and labor-intensive efforts to collect necessary data and to establish to collect necessary data and to establish traffic impact models. In this research, a new method called AMIS is developed for congestion management, access control, and impact simulation to overcome the shortcomings involved in the current methods. The new method is designed for a variety of scenarios such as access management strategies, land use policies, traffic impacts, and other congestion management strategies. This method can effectively be used, with little modification, anywhere in the United States. It is an improvement over the current traffic impact simulation methods that produces more reliable and accurate traffic impact estimates. The case studies conducted in this research have offered evidence that the new method, AMIS, is a credible congestion management tool. Most importantly, a case study presented in this paper illustrates how the new method can be used not only to estimate regional and local impacts of alternate supply management policies in the course of a day, but virtually on an hour-by-hour basis.

  • 본 연구는 커튼월 공사의 적시생산(Just-In-Time; JIT) 관리를 지원할 수 있는 양중조달관리 시스템의 개발 방향의 제시를 목적으로 하고 있다. 이를 위해서 건설업에 있어서 적시생산의 개념을 살펴본 후, 커튼월 자재의 속성을 파악하고 현장과 문헌조사를 통하여 현장 물류관리의 문제점을 파악하였다. 이러한 문제점에 대한 해결방안으로서 본 연구에서는 커튼월 공사의 JIT 관리를 위한 양중 조달 시스템의 개발 방향을 제시하였다.

수송안전정보시스템 개발 (Development of HAZMAT Information System)

  • Ministry of Environment developed ‘Emergency Response Information System (ERIS)’ in 2001, which is in operation. As a next step, currently National Emergency Response Information System (NERIS) is being developed. The main difference among ERIS and NERIS is to enhance the system in the national level, including transportation of hazardous materials. This paper introduces concepts and methods applied to NERIS, especially HAZMAT, and the information system, operating strategies. Based on GIS and transportation-network data, the best route can be offered using Risk Analysis. Strategies for reporting and first-response information systems are also designed for emergencies in the paper.

  • This paper presents a model and a heuristic procedure to design production planning and transportation scheduling systems of critical items, components and products on the basis of material requirement planning concept and transportation planning model. These systems are stemmed from a multi-site multi-product production company in a international economic zone. An example is provided to validate the heuristic procedure developed.

  • This paper deals with the problem of determining the optimal inventory-transportation policy of the idealistically simple inventory-transportation system with the following assumptions: (1) The system consists of a single central warehouse and a single local warehouse, (2) The planning horizon is finite, (3) Demand rate is fixed costant, and so forth. Developed is the algorithm by which to identify the optimal inventory policy which minimizes the total cost incurred to the system over the given finite planning horizon. A sample numerical example is presented along with a discussion of the possible applications of the approach used n the algorithm.

  • In the present paper, we present method to solve a Fractional Bulk Transportation Problem(FBTP) in which the numerator is quadratic in nature and the denominator is linear. A related (FBTP) is formed whose feasible solutions are ranked to reach an optimal solution of the given problem. The method to find these feasible solutions makes use of parametric programming wherein a series of Ordinary Bulk Transportation Problems are solved by the usual methods.

  • This paper considers an interesting transportation problem where trailers and tractors are involved in moving material. We identified a class of combinatorial optimization problems for minimizing the number of tractors and trailers required to accommodate the transportation needs. Then, we show that the fundamental problem is NP-hard and analyze its properties to develop efficient heuristic to handle the problem effectively.

  • Many highway projects are under way in Korea. However, owners frequently find that the project cost exceeds the budget and they are unable to identify the underlining reasons. The main purpose of this research is to develop cost models for transportation projects in Korea using the multiple linear regression (MLR). The data consist of 27 completed transportation projects, built from 1991 to 2001, The technique of multiple regression analysis is used to develop the parametric cost estimating model for total budget cost per highway square meter (TBC/$m^2$). Findings of the study indicated that MLR car be applied to highway projects in Korea. There are twf) major contributions of this research. (1) the identification of transportation parameters as a significant cost driver for transportation costs and (2) the successful development of the parametric cost estimating models for transportation projects in Korea.

A Transportation Problem with Uncertain Truck Times and Unit Costs

  • Motivated by the emergency scheduling in a transportation network, this paper considers a transportation problem, in which, the truck times and transportation costs are assumed as uncertain variables. To meet the demand in the practical applications, two optimization objectives are considered, one is the total costs and another is the completion times. And then, a multi-objective optimization model is developed according to the situation in applications. Because there are commensurability and conflicting between the two objectives commonly, a solution does not necessarily exist that is best with respective to the two objectives. Therefore, the problem is reduced to a single objective model, which is an uncertain programming with a chance-constrain. After some analysis, its equivalent deterministic form is obtained, which is a nonlinear programming. Based on a stepwise optimization strategy, a solution method is developed to solve the problem. Finally, the computational results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of our model and algorithm.

  • The aim of synchronization of production and transportation planning in the supply chain is to increase the flexibility and to decrease various costs. The suggested model in this study synchronizes the timing to supply to a downstream manufacturer directly after production and to be consumed in a downstream manufacturer right after receipt. This model deals with the frequent delivery in small amount which is a new trend of the transportation not governed the economy of scale principle. Moreover, various types of transportation governed by the economy of scale principle or not are considered. Then, the two-phase mathematical model is suggested to obtain optimal job sequence and production quantity for each tasks. But, it is difficult to gain optimal solutions if there is a transportation governed by the economy of scale principle in the supply chain, or the size of the problem is increased. Thus, heuristic algorithms based on simulated annealing and genetic algorithm are suggested to find good solutions in the reasonable time.
