Implementation of a Virtual Training System on Gas Safety

  • With the advent of the internet era, web-based virtual training system is gaining its importance in recent years. Because of the fact that the training can take place in any place and at any time, the virtual system is now replacing many of the conventional off-line classes. Hardware environments such as communication bandwidth and computer performance gets fast enough to accommodate the virtual education. Based on the observations on current virtual training system, this paper proposes three critical design rules required when developing a new virtual training system: i) With conceptual mapping, the menu hierarchy can be organized in a clear-cut manner, ii) Extensive use of multimedia tools can help students keep their attention to the lecture materials, and iii) Provision of interaction mechanisms helps students to gain their identity and motivation.

회전익 항공기용 가변형 전술용 시뮬레이터의 음향 재생 시스템 제작 (Implementation of the Aural Cueing System of the Reconfigurable Tactical SFTS for the Rotor Aircraft)

  • We implemented the Aural Cueing System(ACS) system of the reconfigurable tactical trainer(RTT) for th rotor aircraft. RTT provides a collective training system to meet aviation training requirements and supports organizational training for aviations units in combined arms collective training and mission rehearsal. ACS handles the volume, pitch and repetition of the digitally stored sounds based on commands it receives from an UDP/IP. In this paper, we explained and implemented the conceptual and detail design the ACS system for the rotor aircraft such as AH-1H(Iroquios), UH-60(Blackhwak), AH-1(Cobra) etc. The conceptual design composed of the sound cueing data analysis, sound modelling which is inner, outer, weapon and warn environment of rotor aircraft, sound synthesis and replay.

불안정판을 이용한 평형감각 훈련시스템 개발 (Development of the Training System for Equilibrium Sense Using the Unstable Platform)

  • In this paper, we propose a new training system for the improvement of equilibrium sense using unstable platform. The equilibrium sense, which provides orientation with respect to gravity, is important to integrate the vision, somatosensory and vestibular function to maintain the equilibrium sense of the human body. In order to improve the equilibrium sense, we developed the software program such as a block game, pingpong game using Visual C++. These training system for the equilibrium sense consists of unstable platform, computer interface and software program. The unstable platform was a simple structure of elliptical-type which included tilt sensor, wireless RF module and the device of power supply. To evaluate the effect of balance training, we measured and evaluated the parameters as the moving time to the target, duration to maintain cursor in the target of screen and the error between sine curve and acquired data. As a results, the moving time to the target and duration to maintain cursor in the target was improved through the repeating training of equilibrium sense. It was concluded that this system was reliable in the evaluation of equilibrium sense. This system might be applied to clinical use as an effective balance training system.

  • This paper will introduce the development case study about virtual-reality-based operation training system for steel making process. Steel making process consist iron making process to create liquid steel, pig iron, by reduction process, steel making process to make molten steel by refining, continuous casting process to make slab, and rolling process to make final product like coil, plate. This steel making process deals with liquid and solid products, so facilities of steel making process are very various and complicated. In addition, according to various customer requirements, the recycle of facilities and recipes changing have been fast. So the training for skilled operators is very important point. In this paper, we develop steel making training system based virtual reality for training skilled operator. This system consists of virtual machine, virtual HMI, and virtual control panel. And for fitting the characteristics of each process and increasing the education effectiveness, we develop dynamic methods like the method of dynamic education system configuration, initial facilities setup operation education system, and etc.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a systematic framework that can scientifically and quantitatively evaluate the effectiveness of an LVC training system. The proposed framework is based on QFD(Quality Function Development) methodology. The process of developing the framework begins with identifying various needs of stakeholders related to the introduction of the LVC training system. Then the effectiveness areas and factors are derived based on the needs. The measured effectiveness for each factors on alternatives by L, V, C systems are finally synthesized into the one overall effectiveness of each training system for relative comparison among them. In addition, we developed an Excel$^{TM}$-based tool based on the proposed framework methodology to provide an ease-of-use environment for rapid evaluation on the effectiveness of each training system with the given stakeholder need importance combinations, training scenarios and assets. The suggested framework and the measurement tool are expected to be useful for efficient knowledge-based decision making on an acquisition of the LVC training system.

대규모 플랜트에서의 가상현실 기반 플랜트 안전훈련 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Safety Training System based on Virtual Reality in Large Scale Plant)

  • 가상현실 기술을 이용한 플랜트 안전훈련 시스템 개발을 위해서 대규모 플랜트를 대상으로 훈련 시스템을 구성하였다. 소규모 플랜트 또는 단위장치의 안전훈련에 비해서 가상 플랜트 구현, 공정 내 데이터 처리, 작업 지시 등 많은 시스템 구성이 필요하며 이들에 대한 통합 시스템 작업을 진행 하였다. 대상 플랜트인 RDS 공정은 고온 고압의 위험도가 높은 공정으로 해당 범위에서 누출로 인한 화재가 발생할 경우에 조치할 수 있는 훈련 시나리오를 고려하였으며 실제 사용 중인 운전 정지 절차를 참조하였다. 제안한 안전훈련 통합 시스템은 RDS 공정에서 일어날 수 있는 유사 상황에서도 이용 가능하며 대규모 플랜트에서의 가상현실을 이용한 안전훈련의 새로운 플랫폼으로 고려될 수 있다.

  • 코로나19는 직업능력개발 분야의 교육훈련 환경을 크게 변화시켰다. 상대적으로 집체훈련 비중이 큰 직업능력개발훈련은 일부 훈련과정을 온라인 방식으로 전환하여 온라인과 오프라인을 병행하는 학습 방식이 직업능력개발훈련 현장에 실현되고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 상황에 주목하여 기존의 집체 방식의 직업능력개발훈련을 대체할 수 있는 비대면 원격훈련시스템을 구축하기 위한 방안을 모색하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 대학, 공공 고등직업훈련기관, 민간 직업훈련기관 등의 학습자들을 대상으로 비대면 교육 경험을 조사하여 교육환경과 교육목적이 상이한 학습자들의 비대면 학습경험을 분석하였다. 이를 토대로 비대면 교육을 위한 원격훈련시스템 구축 방안의 초안을 구성하여, 비대면 원격훈련시스템 초안에 대한 델파이 조사를 통해 비대면 교수학습 전략, 학습 및 운영 지원 방안 등 원격훈련시스템 구축안을 제안하였다.

  • 육군은 교육훈련 효과를 향상시키기 위해 노력을 경주하고 있다. 그러나 실제 훈련 시 많은 제한사항으로 인해 실전적인 교육훈련이 제한된다. 이러한 제한사항을 극복하기 위해 가상현실 기술을 활용하고 있다. 가상현실 기술은 다양한 유형으로 발전하고 있으며, 육군은 비용 대 교육효과를 고려하여 가상현실 훈련체계를 도입할 필요가 있다. 육군은 실제 장비와 유사하게 제작된 고비용의 시뮬레이터형을 주로 사용하고 있다. 최근에는 HMD(Head Mounted Display, 이하 HMD)를 착용한 저비용의 몰입형 가상현실 훈련체계도 사용 중이다. 본 연구는 육군 방공학교에서 운영중인 시뮬레이터형과 몰입형 가상현실 훈련체계에 대한 비용 대 교육효과를 분석한다. 연구 방법은 첫 번째, 계층적 분석기법(AHP : Analytic Hierarchy Process, 이하 AHP)으로 교육효과를 분석한다. 두 번째, 비용은 가상현실 훈련체계의 제작 비용을 적용하여 비용 대 교육효과를 분석한다. 분석결과, 비용 대 교육효과는 몰입형이 시뮬레이터형보다 3.4배 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 이번 연구결과를 통해 가상현실 훈련체계의 비용 대 교육효과 분석을 위한 기초자료로 활용이 가능 할 것이다.

레일형 보행보조기구의 방향전환을 위한 턴 롤러 시스템 개발 (Development of the Turn Roller System for Changing the Direction of Rail-type Gait Training System)

  • It is needed to use the gait training system for the rehabilitation of the disabled and old people. In this study, a gait training system of turn roller type is proposed for the purpose of helping the rehabilitation. A driving mechanism with the turn roller is designed by using the RecurDyn which is the dynamic analysis program. RecurDyn is used to analyze the dynamic behavior of the gait training system. The static load analysis is carried out to investigate the safety of this system. From the operating test of this system, it is noted that the driving error is little and the load capacity is 130 kgf.
