  • As the public use part of the railway and the road, the railway crossing is important to work properly by two transportation means. Also, It is important to provide the good face of friction on the railway crossing in aspect of protecting the railway crossing accident. Lately, the material of railway crossing panel is the wood, the asphalt, and the steel. As they have a various fault, it was studied to analyze the structural action of the new material, rubber panel. This paper analyzed eigenvalue, stress and displacement by truck passing weight, thermal stress and train moving weight, using the Finite Element Method model

  • 현재 우리나라에는 철도건널목 인근 신호교차로체 Signal Preemption이 도입되지 인가 열차의 철도건널목 통과 시 철도건널목의 안전이나 인근신호교차로의 운영에 상당한 문제를 야기하고 있다. 철도와 교차하는 신호교차로의 접근로에서는 신호대기로 인한 대기행렬이 철도건널목까지 언제든지 늘어날 수 있고, 이때 열차가 건널목에 접근하게 되면 철도건널목 위에서 대기하고 있던 차량이 열차와 충돌하는 사고가 발생할 수 있다. 그러므로 열차의 철도건널목 도착 전에 철도건널목 위의 대기차량들은 반드시 소거되어야 한다. 또한. 열차의 철도건널목 통과 시에도 철도와 교차되는 접근로의 차단으로 인해 특별한 신호 운명이 필요하다. 따라서 철도건널목과 인근신호교차로의 안전 향상과 합리적인 신호운명을 위해서는 열차 진입 시 교차로 및 철도건널목에 접근하는 교통류를 고려한 Signal Preemption 전략이 구축되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 Signal Preemption의 효과를 현장조사 및 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 가시적으로 제시하였다. 오전첨두시 교통량과 30대 열차의 철도건널목 도착시간 예측치를 이용하여 시뮬레이션이 실행되었고. Signal Preemption을 적용하였을 경우 차량 당 지체시간은 약 9초가량인 것으로 나타났다. 또한, Signal Preemption의 미적용시 30개 시나리오 모두에서 건널목위의 대기차량과 열차가 충돌하는 것으로 나타난 반면, Signal Preemption 적용 시 모든 시나리오에서 대기차량과 열차의 충돌은 발생하지 않았다.

  • Existing level crossing obstacle detecting system was installed using a laser beam. Level crossing obstacle detecting system using a laser beam that has been a problem in relation to safety and maintainability failure according to weather conditions. We proposed laser radar level crossing obstacle detecting system as a way to overcome problem, and we developed an algorithm for this. Level crossing obstacle detecting system using a laser radar sensor algorithm is robust to external environment and a shadow zone does not exist. Sensor part of the laser radar level crossing obstacle detecting system of these is made up by the image processing unit and laser radar sensor, it operations by receiving train entering information from the control unit. In this paper, we proposed a detecting algorithm with calculation of the size of the laser radar sensor. Based on this, we were performance test on the basis of the scenario by making a prototype. In the future, laser radar level crossing obstacle detecting system to ensure the safety and reliability through the field test.

현장측정을 통한 분기기 망간 크로싱의 피로수명 평가 (Fatigue Life Evaluation for Railway Turnout Crossing using the Field Test)

  • The major objective of this study is to investigate the fatigue life evaluation of immovability crossing for railway turnout by the field test. In railway engineering, an appliance is necessary to allow a vehicle to move from one track to another. This appliance came to be known technically as turnout. So, turnout is required very complex railway technologies such as rolling stock, track. Due to the plan under the application of high speed train, turnout are needed more stable far fatigue behaviors. It analyzed the mechanical behaviors of turnout crossing with propose its advanced technical type on the field test and fatigue evaluation far the dynamic fatigue characteristics. As a result, the advanced type crossing are obviously effective for the fatigue damage ratio and dynamic response which is non-modified type. The analytical and experimental study are carried out to investigate the passing path of contact surface and fatigue damage trend decrease dynamic stresses and deflections on advanced crossing type, And the advanced type reduce dynamic fatigue damage ratio and increase fatigue life(about each 38%) more than non-modified type. From the field test results of the servicing turnout crossing, it is evaluated that the modification of contact angle, weight, material and sectional properties is very effective fur ensure against fatigue risks.

직접 PC슬래브설치를 통한 철도지하횡단 공법의 적용 연구 (Railway Underground Crossing Method Using PC Slab)

  • Existing grade crossings between railway and roadway area gradually changed to grade separation systems by the law. In the case of new roadway construction which crosses railways, it shall be grade separation system in principle. With the railway underground crossing method, many practices have been developed which can minimize rail displacements and avoid rail release. With these methods, the effects to the train can be reduced. The underground crossing methods can be identified as open-cut methods and non open-cut methods. The open-cut methods include temporary support methods and special rail construction methods. Also the non open-cut methods includes pipe roof methods, front jacking methods, messer shield methods, NTR methods and JES methods. Among these, the most suitable method is applied considering safety, economy, class of each rail system (train passing frequency and velocity), etc. In the non open-cut methods, the cost and duration shall be increased to keep existing rail system during construction. In the open-cut methods which use plate girders, the rail speed shall be restricted due to the displacement and vibration of the girder. In this study new grade separation methods were developed. With this method, the safety during construction can be increased. This method refines temporary support methods, but pc slab girder with huge stiffness is applied instead of plate girders. With this method, the rail displacement can be reduced and higher safety can be obtained during construction. Also construction cost and duration can be minimized because the temporary work and the overburden soil depth can be reduced.

  • To cut down the maintenance expenses at branch lines, the foreign developed countries have developed the low-cost signalling on low-density lines. These examples are FFB(FunkFahrBetrieb) Radio based train operation by German railways(Deutsche Bahn AG), ERTMS REGIONAL by Europe and LOCOPROL system using a GPS. Also, Korea is developing Information and Communication Technology based low-cost signalling on low-density lines. The characteristics of this system are directly controled switch and crossing by driver. For the purpose of this paper, we reviewed the business process for switch and crossing control. Specially, we compared and analysed both methods whether the driver takes control over the operation procedures of switch or the control message is carried by the command of the controller. And by utilizing the instrument of UML, I planned the switch according to the control authority and the operation procedures needed for the control of crossing.

  • Crashworthy design of a train is a systematic approach to ensure the safety of passengers and crews in railway transportation for the prescribed accident scenarios. This approach needs new structural arrangements and designs to absorb higher levels of impact energy in a controlled manner and interior designs to minimize passenger injuries. In this paper, an evaluation method for crashworthiness of Korean tilting train express is introduced. Crush characteristics for each part of tilting train express are evaluated numerically through 3-dimensional shell element analysis with LS-DYNA. Based on a head-on collision and a level crossing collision scenarios, the crash behaviors of tilting train express are evaluated numerically using full-rake collision simulations.

  • 본 논문은 국내 철도 건널목의 현황 조사와 현재 운영되고 있는 안전설비의 문제점 분석을 통해 이를 해결할 수 있는 대안으로 레이저레이더기반의 지장물 검지장치를 설계 및 구현하였다. 철도 안전사고의 큰 비중을 차지하는 철도 건널목에서의 효과적인 지장물 검지를 통해 철도교통의 안전성 및 신뢰성 향상을 목표로 하며, 기존 안전 설비의 한계와 노후화로 인한 문제점을 극복하는 시스템을 제안한다. 레이저레이더 스캐너를 활용한 철도 건널목 지장물 검지장치를 설계하였고 시제품 시험 및 성능평가를 통해 이를 입증하였다.

  • Last train of the vehicle for eht energy saving and improved performance PWM converters ares widely used. In the case of PWM converters by the zero detection system performance depends on whether it can be argued. Zero voltage detectio method of the hardware and software approach is to in this paper, the zero detection methods for hardware and software problems that have occured as a complemnetary technique was expained.
