Traffic Forecasting Model Selection of Artificial Neural Network Using Akaike's Information Criterion (AIC(AKaike's Information Criterion)을 이용한 교통량 예측 모형)

  • Recently, there are many trials about Artificial neural networks : ANNs structure and studying method of researches for forecasting traffic volume. ANNs have a powerful capabilities of recognizing pattern with a flexible non-linear model. However, ANNs have some overfitting problems in dealing with a lot of parameters because of its non-linear problems. This research deals with the application of a variety of model selection criterion for cancellation of the overfitting problems. Especially, this aims at analyzing which the selecting model cancels the overfitting problems and guarantees the transferability from time measure. Results in this study are as follow. First, the model which is selecting in sample does not guarantees the best capabilities of out-of-sample. So to speak, the best model in sample is no relationship with the capabilities of out-of-sample like many existing researches. Second, in stability of model selecting criterion, AIC3, AICC, BIC are available but AIC4 has a large variation comparing with the best model. In time-series analysis and forecasting, we need more quantitable data analysis and another time-series analysis because uncertainty of a model can have an effect on correlation between in-sample and out-of-sample.

Development and Effect of Safety Education Program in Preschooler (학령전기 아동의 사고예방을 위한 안전교육 프로그램 개발 및 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to measure the effect of safety education program in preschool children for accident prevention and improve their health through more systematic method. Data were collected from 584 preschoolers(247 preschooler are assigned to experimental group and 337 preschoolers are assinged to control group) from 4 to 6 years old using APP paper test which consists of questions and drawings. To experimental group, safety education were done 4 times within the time of 30 minutes per 1 time using education books, drawings, OHP. The findings of this study are as follows: 1. There were significant difference in movement(χ²=18.732, p=.0000), behavioral character(χ²=27.785, p=.000), synthetic judgement(χ²=12.02, p=0.002). So, safety education program have effect on preschooler. 2. From this findings, we can guess that safety education program change and guide preschoolers' behavioral character to desirable direction.

  • In this paper, domestic standard revision plan of dynamic frequency method which is used both in unmanned automatic toll collection system and manned collection system of the express highway is presented. For such ETCS, the infrared rays (870 nm) of active frequency method and the frequency integrated method (5.8 GHz) are adopted and extended to be operated to the all around the Toll Gate. This standardization plan is based on inter connection reference model between OSI (Open System Interconnection) in process of ITS short range radio communication standardization of 5.8 GHz bandwidth to support traffic information and control system service, and the derived revision plan by starting from physical layer which support interoperability for multiple access between RSE (Road Side Equipment) and OBE (On Board Equipment), in which is categorized into physical layer, data link layer, and application layer. In case of radiation power, existing standard is divided by class1 (within 10 m) and Class2 (within 100 m) according to transmission lengthwhile it is operated with just single standard 'Class1' because of notification of Ministry of Information and Communication in 2004. In the case of the limitation value of incident power in communication area, considering operation plan of ETCS that is on actuality operation the measurements are reflected to the standard. In other wort this paper proposed the improvement standard of incident power, pseudo response in the communication area and radiated power in order to secure stability and compatibility among operator systems about the needed part on ETCS operation.

  • For recent innovation of If technology and the beginning of Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) service, it has been dramatically increased to setup TV system in a car for watching TV and receiving traffic Information. Watching TV while driving would distract a driver s cognitive and visual attention as eating food, operating the radio, using a cell phone. However, there is paucity of empirical researches and it is uncertain how watching TV in driving impacts on the driver's cognition in the concrete. Therefore, we surveyed domestic drivers on the attitude watching TV while driving as well as conducted experiments through a driving simulator. Especially, we recruited two groups of participants to explore the effects of watching TV on driving behavior. The result proved that the participants who watched TV while their driving had relatively narrower the attention span than the Participants who did not watch TV. Also, those who watched TV drove with less stability and more urgent operations of the brake and accelerator than those who did not watched TV Finally, we discussed limitations and implications of the study.

  • In this paper, we propose a collaboration method of diverse agents each others in multi-agent model and describe a node migration algorithm of Mobile-Agent (MA) using by the metadata of Naming-Agent (NA). Collaboration work of multi-agent assures stability of agent system and provides reliability of information retrieval on the distributed environment. NA, an important part of multi-agent, identifies each agents and series the unique name of each agents, and each agent references the specified object using by its name. Also, NA integrates and manages naming service by agents classification such as Client-Push-Agent (CPA), Server-Push-Agent (SPA), and System-Monitoring-Agent (SMA) based on its characteristic. And, NA provides the location list of mobile nodes to specified MA. Therefore, when MA does move through the nodes, it is needed to improve the efficiency of node migration by specified priority according to hit_count, hit_ratio, node processing and network traffic time. Therefore, in this paper, for the integrated naming service, we design Naming Agent and show the structure of metadata which constructed with fields such as hit_count, hit_ratio, total_count of documents, and so on. And, this paper presents the flow of creation and updating of metadata and the method of node migration with hit_count through the collaboration of multi-agent.

Inspecting Stablity of DSM method with Grouting on Tunnel Face using Chamber Test and Numericlal Analysis (토조실험과 수치해석을 이용한 막장면 그라우팅 DSM공법의 안정성 검토)

  • In urban areas, underground tunnel construction sites have spread widely to accommodate rapidly increasing traffic volume along with a high-degree economic growth. Earth tunneling might be adapted frequently for the underground space securing, and various tunneling methods have been developed to stabilize the tunnel face and crown. Among them, the DSM (divided shield method) is gaining popularity for its enhanced stability and construction efficiency. This method has its foundation from the Messer Shield method, which is one of the trenchless special tunneling methods. This study examined the effects of face reinforcement on construction the sequence through a large scale soil chamber test and numerical analyses. The chamber has a size of a 1/2 scale of the real tunnel. Surface settlements were measured according the tunneling process. Commercially available software, MIDAS GTS, was used for numerical analysis and its result was compared with the values obtained from the chamber test. The results of the study show that both settlements of the embanked soils and the stress of the tunnel girder are located within the safe criteria. Overall, this study provides basic data and the potential of using a reinforced tunnel face to enhance DSM applications.

Evaluation of Hot Mix Asphalt Properties using Complex Modifiers (복합개질제를 이용한 아스팔트 혼합물의 물성 평가)

  • In this study, to improve the performance of asphalt mixtures for plastic deformation occurring mainly in Korea, complex modifiers were prepared by mixing powders and liquid type modifiers. The main constituents were powdery diatomaceous earth, mica and carbon black, and liquid type solid 70% SBR latex. The tensile strength ratios for the two asphalt mixtures used in the test were above 0.80 for the Ministry of Land Transportation (2017) asphalt mixture production and construction guidelines. The effects of increasing the tensile strength in the dry state was more than 14% when the composite modifier was added. The deformation rate per minute by the wheel tracking test load was an average of 0.07 to 0.147 for each mixture. The strain rate per minute was improved by the modifier, and the dynamic stability was improved by almost 100% from 295 to 590. In addition, the final settling was reduced from 11.38 mm to 9.57 mm. A plastic deformation test using the triaxial compression test showed that the amount of deformation entering the plastic deformation failure zone at the end of the second stage section and in the third stage plastic deformation section was 1.76 mm for the conventional mixture and 1.50 mm for the complex modifier mixture. The average slope of the complex modifier asphalt mixture mixed with the multi-functional modifier was 0.005 mm/sec. The plastic deformation rate is relatively small in the section where the road pavement exhibits stable common performance, i.e. the traffic load.

Laboratory and Field Performance Evaluation of Acryl Resin Based Solar Radiation Reflective Pavement (아크릴 수지를 이용한 차열성 포장의 실내 및 현장 공용성 평가)

  • This study developed a solar radiation reflection pavement, so called a cool pavement, to lessen the urban heat island effect by coating a pavement surface with acrylic resins mixed with light-colored pigments. From a laboratory test, simulating solar heating process in pavements, the cool pavement reduced more than $12^{\circ}C$ of pavement temperature at $60^{\circ}C$ compared to a control porous pavement. With the increase of the mixing ratio of the pigments to acrylic resins, the temperature reduction effect increased, but its workability became worse due to higher viscosity. As a result, an appropriate mixing ratio was determined as 15%. The cool pavement had better durability than the control pavement: One quarter of Catabro loss and twofold dynamic stability. Its adhesion was also higher enough not to be debonded under traffic loading. In-situ noise and friction tests conducted in two field sites showed that the cool pavement reduced its noise level by 3.7dB in average and increased its friction level by 30% compared to the control pavement. The permeability of the cool pavement was little lower than the control pavement, but higher enough to satisfy the minimum requirement for porous pavements.

  • A autonomous vehicle requires improved and robust perception systems than conventional perception systems of intelligent vehicles. In particular, single sensor based perception systems have been widely studied by using cameras and laser radar sensors which are the most representative sensors for perception by providing object information such as distance information and object features. The distance information of the laser radar sensor is used for road environment perception of road structures, vehicles, and pedestrians. The image information of the camera is used for visual recognition such as lanes, crosswalks, and traffic signs. However, single sensor based perception systems suffer from false positives and true negatives which are caused by sensor limitations and road environments. Accordingly, information fusion systems are essentially required to ensure the robustness and stability of perception systems in harsh environments. This paper describes a perception system for autonomous vehicles, which performs information fusion to recognize road environments. Particularly, vision and laser radar sensors are fused together to detect lanes, crosswalks, and obstacles. The proposed perception system was validated on various roads and environmental conditions with an autonomous vehicle.

  • This paper presents numerical results of static structural stability analysis in development of a vertical transfer device of a PRT(Personal Rapid Transit) vehicle. The vertical transfer of a fully occupied vehicle operating on a road network is the first attempt, which is expected to contribute to overcome the limitations of conventional 2-dimensional operation mode. In particular, the vertical transfer apparatus designed based on vertical circulating conveyors is capable of continuous transfer without time delay so that it enables to accommodate a high traffic density. This system has been frequently used in a logistics field; however, it is essential to assess a structural integrity because an external force by a vehicle weight is exerted on the conveyors in the form of a concentrated load unlike a conventional logistic transport. In this study, prior to the production process, the structural performance of the pilot design in an early stage is numerically evaluated using the commercial finite element method (FEM) solver (i.e., $Ansys^{(R)}$).
