HLA/RTI 기반의 교통류 분산 시뮬레이션 모형에 관한 연구 (Development of Traffic Simulation Using High Level Architecture/Run Time Infrastructure)

  • There are plenty of optimization models for the signal-system of a single intersection and area traffic. Some of those models are adopted for the real traffic signal control system. The simulators for a single crossroad have been developed, so that we could evaluate optimization models and traffic control systems. However, the simulators for the area traffic are still being developed. Therefore, there are many limitations in the analysis and evaluation for area traffic control system. The area traffic is consisted of several intersections which are very complicated and many traffic strategies are adopted for the control system. This paper features an effective area traffic control system based on the High Lever Architecture(HLA). In this paper, we discuss the design of HLA-based area traffic control simulation. We describe technical motivations for the HLA, the key elements of the architecture and how they are minimum and essential to the goal of reuse and interoperability. A distributed simulation with HLA/RTI provides stable and satisfactory experimental results. Moreover, the prototype traffic control system provides reliable accomplishment compared to the NETSIM and TRANSYT-7F models.

Performance Analysis of ABR Congestion Control Algorithm using Self-Similar Traffic

  • One of the most important issues in designing a network and realizing a service is dealing with traffic characteristics. Recent experimental research on LAN, WAN, and VBR traffic properties has highlighted that real traffic specificities can not be displayed because the current models based on the Poisson assumption under estimate the long range dependency of network traffic and self-similar peculiarities. Therefore, a new approach using self-similarity characteristics as a real traffic model was recently developed. In This paper we discusses the definition of self-similarity traffic. Moreover, real traffic was collected and we generated self-similar data traffic like real traffic to background load. On the existing ABR congestion control algorithm transmission throughput with the representative ERICA, EPRCA and NIST switch algorithm show the efficient reaction about the burst traffic.

항계내 항로의 해상교통 혼잡도 평가에 관하여 - 울산 신항만의 혼잡도 평가를 기준으로 - (Evaluation of Traffic Congestion in Channels within Harbour Limit -On Channels in Ulsan New Port Development-)

  • Whether over taking or parallel sailing of two or more vessels is allowable on marine traffic route or not, the traffic congestion due to traffic volume has to be evaluated separately. In Gaduk-sudo, overtaking or parallel sailing is so allowable that the Bumper Model is introduced to evaluated the traffic congestion. But the channels within the habour limit such as the route of Ulsan New Port are so prohibited overtaking or parallel sailing that the traffic congestion has to be evaluated by using theoretical traffic capacity or by traffic simulation. In this paper, the congestion of Southern New Port and Mipo Port was evaluated the congestion by using theoretical traffic capacity and the other area of Ulsan Port by traffic simulation. The incresed traffic volumes on Ulsan Channels according to Ulsan New Port Development in 2011 were evaluated to have no effect with the traffic congestion.

고속도로 영업소 광장의 횡방향 럼블스트립으로 발생되는 소음 조사 (A Noise Investigation of Transverse Rumble Strip at Toll Plaza of Highway)

  • PURPOSES: This study is to investigate a generated traffic noise when vehicle pass over a transverse rumble strip at toll plaza of highway. METHODS: To investigate traffic noise at toll plaza of highway, Pass-by method which is the most common used for measuring traffic noise was adopted and the traffic noise at toll plaza was measured for 10 min per hour for 11hours(13:00~24:00). RESULTS: The measured traffic noise by pass-by method was changed as function of the transverse rumble strip configuration. Generally, the maximum difference among three noise measurement sections was 7 dB(A). It might be related with traffic speed. Also, the measured traffic noise was strongly generated from a passenger car which was 2 axle. It means that the most of traffic noise on the road is generated at tire/pavement interface of the passenger car. CONCLUSIONS: The traffic noise was strongly related with vehicle speed and transverse rumble strip configuration on the road. For driver safety, the transverse rumble strip is definitely necessary. However, the complaints from residents near highway was increased by traffic noise from transverse rumble strip. Therefore, To satisfy both safety and reduction of traffic noise, the development of configuration of transverse rumble strip is necessary in the further study.

홈 네트워크에서 적응적 차등화 서비스를 위한 동적 우선순위 조절 기법 (A Dynamic Priority Control Method to Support an Adaptive Differentiated Service in Home Networks)

  • 홈 네트워크에서 다양한 응용(application) 트래픽(traffic) 간의 차등화 된 서비스를 제공하기 위해서 트래픽 변화에 따라 적응적으로 우선순위(priority)를 재할당하는 알고리즘을 제안하고, FPGA를 이용하여 구현하였다. 제안된 구조는 QoS를 위한 부가적인 시그널링 프로토콜이 없이도 네트워크 트래픽 조절이 가능하도록 설계되었고, 또한 홈 네트워크 트래픽을 그 특징에 따라 제어 데이터 트래픽, 일반 인터넷이나 데이터 트래픽, 그리고 멀티미디어 데이터 트래픽으로 분류하고 이를 네트워크 트래픽 상황에 적응적으로 차등화 서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 설계되었다. 시뮬레이션을 통하여 제시한 알고리즘의 성능을 검증하고 FPGA구현을 통하여 실현가능성을 제시하였다.

A Fuzzy Traffic Controller Considering the spillback on the Multiple Crossroads

  • In this paper, we propose a fuzzy traffic controller of Sugeno`s fuzzy model so as to model the nonlinear characteristics of controlling the traffic light. It use a degree of the traffic congestion of the preceding roads as an input so that it can cope with traffic congestion appropriately, which causes the loss of fuel and our discomfort. First, in order to construct fuzzy traffic controller of Sugeno`s fuzzy model, we model the control process of the traffic light by using Mamdani`s fuzzy model, which has the uniform membership functions of the same size and shape. Second, we make Mamdani`s fuzzy model with the non-uniform membership functions so that it can exactly reflect the knowledge of experts and operators. Last, we construct the fuzzy traffic controller of Sugeno`s fuzzy model by learning from the input/output data, which is retrieved from Mamdani`s fuzzy model with the non-uniform membership functions. We compared and analyzed the fixed traffic light controller, the fuzzy traffic controller of Mamdani`s fuzzy model and the fuzzy traffic controller of Sugeno`s fuzzy model by using the delay time and the proportion of the entered vehicles to the occurred vehicles. As a result of comparison, the fuzzy traffic controller of Sugeno`s fuzzy model showed the best performance.

무선 홈 IoT 서비스를 위한 적응형 트래픽 간섭제어 시스템 (An Adaptive Traffic Interference Control System for Wireless Home IoT services)

  • 무선 홈 IoT (Internet of Things)상에서 대용량 트래픽 간섭은 패킷 손실의 원인이 되며, 패킷 손실은 무선 홈 네트워크의 QoS와 처리율을 떨어뜨린다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 트래픽과 비실시간 트래픽을 탐지하여 무선 홈 IoT 서비스의 QoS 및 처리율을 향상시키기 위한 새로운 적응형 트래픽 간섭 제어 시스템, ATICS(Adaptive Traffic Interference Control System)을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 트래픽 특성에 따라 단기(short term) 트래픽 혼잡 프로세스와 장기(long-term) 트래픽 혼잡 프로세스로 구분하여 트래픽 간섭을 제어한다. 시뮬레이션 결과 제안된 기법은 다른 비교 기법들에 비해서 트래픽 간섭 제어 성능 척도가 더 효율적임을 보인다.

교통법규 위반자에 대한 사면과 교통사고 발생 간의 인과순환적 관계에 대한 연구 (A study on the Causal Feedback Relationship between Special Pardon for Traffic Law Violators and Traffic Accidents)

  • More than 24.43 million people received a special pardon to mark the anniversary of Liberation Day on Aug. 15 and to commemorate other national event, during 15years(1995-2009), in this period six times of presidential pardon was implemented. The special pardon allows traffic law violator to drive again with their violation records wiped clean. But traffic records show that traffic accidents used to increase very fast in a short period by up to 3-15 percent after implementing the every massive pardons. This study explores the causal feedback relationship between presidential special pardon for traffic law violators and the occurrence of an traffic accidents using a system thinking approach and simulation modelling. Particularly, this study focused on the analysing significant negative impact of the traffic pardon on the occurrence of worrisome traffic accidents. The results of this study show that presidential special pardon have had impact on the traffic accidents as a increasing leverage of positive feedback loop and the obedience of traffic law as a decreasing leverage of negative feedback loop. Finally, this study conclude that the cyclical increasing pattern of traffic accident is resulting from the periodically conducted presidential pardons with political aims.

XGBoost를 이용한 교통노드 및 교통링크 기반의 교통사고 예측모델 개발 (Development of Traffic Accident Prediction Model Based on Traffic Node and Link Using XGBoost)

  • This study intends to present a traffic node-based and link-based accident prediction models using XGBoost which is very excellent in performance among machine learning models, and to develop those models with sustainability and scalability. Also, we intend to present those models which predict the number of annual traffic accidents based on road types, weather conditions, and traffic information using XGBoost. To this end, data sets were constructed by collecting and preprocessing traffic accident information, road information, weather information, and traffic information. The SHAP method was used to identify the variables affecting the number of traffic accidents. The five main variables of the traffic node-based accident prediction model were snow cover, precipitation, the number of entering lanes and connected links, and slow speed. Otherwise, those of the traffic link-based accident prediction model were snow cover, precipitation, the number of lanes, road length, and slow speed. As the evaluation results of those models, the RMSE values of those models were each 0.2035 and 0.2107. In this study, only data from Sejong City were used to our models, but ours can be applied to all regions where traffic nodes and links are constructed. Therefore, our prediction models can be extended to a wider range.

  • Korea's road traffic has been the important role of social and economic development, and it'll be a much more important in the future. But we require a far more efficient road traffic system to solve the problem of vehicle increases. So this paper is analyzed and researched both road traffic systems and road traffic safety, and hypothesized a solution to the problem by using small town's road traffic system demands as a good example. The road traffic system should harmonize around the structure of the town, and be related to the safety, By analyzing road traffic system, we can understand how importantly the traffic system is related with safety, efficiency and overall benefits for our community.
