  • The subjects of the research is the architecture expressed traditionality from the time of the Open Port on, including North Korea region. The scope is divided into three periods; the first is from the Open Port to the Rehabilitation (光復),1945, the second is from then to 1960, and the last is from 1960 to the present. The expression of Koreanity(韓國性) should be concerned with the states at the time. In the beginning of the first period the alienate culture and the new modern facilities, like electricity, telecommunication system, train service, etc., rushes to Korea and the traditional architecture accepted the most of the new-comings; therefore, the original form was transformed. That seems to be the beginning of the discourse on traditionality in Korea architecture. The expression was showed up in four parts: ${\bullet}$ Korea traditional architecture accepting the foreign culture and the modern facilities ${\bullet}$ the compromise between foreign and traditional architectural form ${\bullet}$ the compromise between the Modem and traditional architecture ${\bullet}$ the Imperial Crown Style(帝冠樣式) which is the eclectic architecture with transformed roof. The figurative expression in the present architecture was showed up in roughly two parts: ${\bullet}$ the traditional form directly depicted wholly / partially ${\bullet}$ the abstract traditional form wholly / partially Moreover the results on the research traditional architecture have been collected, the principles have been drawn out. Especially the first beauty is not on form or figure of a building but on the composition of architectures and the harmony of the natural circumstances and architectures. So many contemporary architects make efforts to apply the principles to the composition and formation of current architecture.

  • Philippines, having the unique combination between its traditional and vernacular culture and European culture during colonization by Spain over three hundred years, shows the variations of style and scale in domestic architectures. Bahay na bato, one of the typical house of recent stone house in Philippines, has been completed referring traditional bahay kubo and Spanish stone built house, adapting vernacular principles in traditional house and new Spanish culture and life styles. Especially, vernacular for climates, earthquakes, social and cultural conditions, environment and materials in traditional bahay kubo still alive in bahay na bato mingled with spanish architectural technology and culture. This study place emphasis on the vernacular characteristics in bahay na bato by considering the climate control method in traditional house and Spanish influences on Philippines house.

  • Nowadays, landscape architecture development faces several challenges such as how to inherit Chinese cultures and spirits, how to sustain historical and traditional features and how to keep landscape vital in modem development of city and society. Through interpretation of Chinese culture nature which is set as the research principle, this paper concludes to 'natural, suitable and special' leading idea of inheriting, constructing and preserving Chinese landscape. This idea also integrates traditional, modern, western and Chinese cultures and features. With projects and examples, it also explains those bad effects to landscape inheriting: un-enough mending, natural aging, unsuitable policies, and over development etc. This paper also addresses Beijing Tiantan Park and Shanghai Jiangnan Ship Firm landscape design to show successful protection of traditional gardens. Various protections of the architectures and surroundings and innovation of traditional landscape architecture are also stated.

  • As smartphones increasingly support the execution of various applications, the function of virtual memory swapping is becoming important. However, unlike traditional computer systems, mobile platforms do not basically support swapping. This is because swapping results in frequent writes to flash memory, which may degrade the performance of smartphone's storage significantly. To cope with this situation, this paper suggests two multi-swap architectures, hierarchical swapping and hybrid swapping, and compares their performance quantitatively. Specifically, this paper shows that hybrid swapping with the consideration of single-access data can reduce swapping traffic to flash memory, and improve the performance compared to traditional swapping.

  • This paper proposes DAMQWR and VCDAMQ architectures that enloit the full capabilities of adaptive routing. DAMQWR enables messages in congested channels to route through non-congested channels by using recruit registers while VCDAMQ dynamically assigns resources among virtual channels, resulting in better network traffic control. Through extensive simulations and analysis, this paper evaluates their effects on overall network cost and performance. These proposed queue architectures, VCDAMQ and DAMQWR are shown to appropriately support adaptive routing capability by dynamically and efficiently managing queue and network resources, increasing network performance. The results show that up to $20\%$ higher throughput can be obtained in comparison to traditional DAMQ designs.

  • Traditional Internet pricing schemes are coming under continual pressure to adapt to, and encourage, a changing mix of Internet applications and consumer usage patterns. Much research effort over the last decade has been focused on developing more efficient and attractive charging schemes. However, none of the proposed models has been widely deployed. This raises questions regarding the inhibiting factors and missing pieces that make pricing the Internet such a challenge. In this paper, we discuss the problems with current Internet pricing schemes, review the history of Internet pricing research over the last ten years, and summarize the key features and motivations of the most significant models. We develop a novel visual approach to comparing and evaluating such schemes using a three-dimensional (3D) metric encompassing technical efficiency, economic efficiency, and social impact. We address and discuss the important factors that have inhibited the deployment of the reviewed models and suggest productive areas of focus for future Internet pricing research.

  • Early decision support systems (DSS) were the "passive" decision support systems in the sense that the systems only able to do what the users explicitly direct them to do. But some researchers such as Raghav Rao et al. [51 showed architectures to suggest general idea of the innovative DSS systems which offer active form of decision support, say, "active Intelligent Decision Support Systems(active IDSS)". The system can perform not only what the users want to do but some voluntary (or involuntary) intelligent works. This paper presents the issues in the design of the active IDSS in the domain of investment evaluation, a domain area where few researchers have suggested frameworks or architectures to discriminate good investment from bad one. We propose a new paradigm, by utilizing historical investment results using neural network and Multivariate Discriminant Analysis(MDA), to identify goodness of investment. A new active IDSS architecture which consists of neural network, expert system and three components of the traditional passive DSS is suggested with some scenario based results.nario based results.

  • There is a general challenge offered to the field of engineering economics by the introduction of advanced technologies. A survey of the existing literature on evaluation of advanced information and manufacturing system indicate that the traditional approaches are inadequate for economic evaluation techniques used in its appraisal, difficulty in evaluating the potential benefits and criteria used to assess management performance. In this paper, an attempt has been made to overcome the above deficiencies by presenting an approach to account for the justification and selection of the Local Area Network(LAN) architectures. This is based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) and is capable of taking into account many intangible factors as well. The usefulness of the proposed approach is demonstrated through a case situation and sensitivity analysis. Finally, some research directions for future work are identified.

  • The objectives of this study are understanding on the type and the characteristic of the architecture in the saltern. At result, there are warehouse of the salt, residence of salt man and office building. These architectures are clearly different from Korean traditional architecture and constructed in special area (a saltern), on special purpose. These are not excellent architectural form, but materials and forms of these architectures are reasonably suitable for the regional characteristic and the function. Today, the architecture in the saltern, are gradually disappear, therefore the researches and the memories are meaningful in this study.

  • The types of China Ancientry Architecture are rich and colorful. Among all these architectures, the Traditional Residence Architecture have the closest relationship with the mass's life. Traditional Residence Architecture reflected the connotation of the culture, philosophy ideology, especially the relationship between dwelling house and the nature, which can't be ignored by our modern people as well as the modern design. Beijing Sahap-won residence architecture is one of the apotheosis of China Traditional Residence Architecture, it'svery suitable for family's habitation. There's brilliance layout in space; around symmetry and radioactivity in plane, discretion grade in line, independence and continuity in inner spatial, with high privacy and benignity, Before the development and explore of modern APT Architecture design, we should fully understand the feature of Ancientry Residence House, inherit and carry forward its culture. The proposed design is started from the consolidation of the traditional feature of Beijing Sahap-won and the modern residence architecture, therefore to satisfy the modern people's fierce pursuing to the traditional culture.
