It is very important to know the magnitude of the restraint moment which is appeared at the inner-support of the continuous PSC girder. The Age-adjusted Effective Modulus Method(AEMM) is used to get the magnitude of the restraint moment for the purpose of the time-dependent analysis of the concrete. The important factors for computing the restraint moment, the creep coefficient and the shrinkage strain are computed by comparing Korean specification with AC1209. The restrain moment is created by the individual continuity load. The main purpose of this paper is ensuring the safety of structure by acquiring the time-dependent stress acting on the concrete because the process of construction is getting difficult due to the advance of technology. The negative moment at the inner-support is decreased about 55% by introducing the process of making the continuous bridge relatively early.

The Prestressed concrete girder bridges(PSC girder bridges), consisting of prestressed concrete girders and cast-in-place deck slabs, are sensitive to creep and shrinkage of concrete. Shrinkage and creep produce additional internal forces md deformations in PSC girder bridges. The long-term behavior of the PSC girder bridges depends on time-dependent properties of materials, amount of prestressing, methods and sequences of construction and age at loading. The purpose of this study is to predict the long-term behavior of PSC girder bridge. For this purpose, Computer program for Time-dependent analysis of PSC girder bridge has been developed. thereafter, Time-dependent analysis using developed computer program was carried out about 3-span continuous PSC girder bridges. Various construction timing sequences were used for parametric study.
In this paper, the problem of delay-dependent stability analysis for cellular neural networks systems with time-varying delays was considered. By using a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii function, delay-dependant stability conditions of the delayed cellular neural networks systems are proposed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Examples are provided to demonstrate the reduced conservatism of the proposed stability results.

To ensure the serviceability requirements of PSC composite girder bridges, it is essential to predict the stresses and deformations of the structure under service load conditions. Stresses and deformations vary continuously with time due to the effects of creep and shrinkage of concrete and relaxation of prestressing steel. The importance of these time-dependent effects is much more pronounced in precast prestressed concrete structures built in stages than in those constructed in one operation. In this paper, time-dependent analyses for PSC composite bridges using 30m standard girders have been conducted considering with the variation of the times of introducing initial prestressing forces and casting concrete. A computer program has been developed for the time-dependent analysis of simple or continuous PSC composite girders and parametric studies are conducted. Based on the numerical results, it is investigated the long-term behaviors of PSC composite girder bridges and discussed the limitations of the current codes for the prestress loss.
Schwinger pair production of electrons and positrons in a strong electric field is a prediction of nonperturbative quantum field theory, in which the out-vacuum is superposed of multi-particle states of the in-vacuum. Solving the Dirac or Klein-Gordon equation in the background field, though a linear wave equation, and finding the pair-production rate is a difficult or nontrivial job. The phase-integral method has recently been introduced to compute the pair production in space-dependent electric fields, and a complex analysis method has been employed to calculate the pair production in time-dependent electric fields. In this paper, we apply the complex analysis method to a Sauter-type electric field and other hyperbolic-type electric fields that vanish in the past and future and show that the Stokes phenomena in pair production occur when the time-dependent frequency for a given momentum has finite simple poles (polons) with pure imaginary residues.
Cisplatin treatment increases the excretion of inorganic phosphate in vivo. However, the mechanism by which cisplatin reduces phosphate uptake through renal proximal tubular cells has not yet been elucidated. We examined the effect of cisplatin on $Na^+$-dependent phosphate uptake in opossum kidney (OK) cells, an established proximal tubular cell line. Cells were exposed to cisplatin for an appropriate time period and phosphate uptake was measured using $[^{32}P]$-phosphate. Changes in the number of phosphate transporter in membranes were evaluated by kinetic analysis, $[^{14}C]$phosphonoformic acid binding, and Western blot analysis. Cisplatin inhibited phosphate uptake in a time- and dose-dependent manner, and also the $Na^+$-dependent uptake without altering $Na^+$-independent uptake. The cisplatin inhibition was not affected by the hydrogen peroxide scavenger catalase, but completely prevented by the hydroxyl radical scavenger dimethylthiourea. Antioxidants were ineffective in preventing the cisplatin-induced inhibition of phosphate uptake. Kinetic analysis indicated that cisplatin decreased Vmax of $Na^+$-dependent phosphate uptake without any change in the Km value. $Na^+$-dependent phosphonoformic acid binding was decreased by cisplatin treatment. Western blot analysis showed that cisplatin caused degradation of $Na^+$-dependent phosphate transporter protein. Taken together, these data suggest that cisplatin inhibits phosphate transport in renal proximal tubular cells through the reduction in the number of functional phosphate transport units. Such effects of cisplatin are mediated by production of hydroxyl radicals.

This paper presents a time domain method for soil-structure interaction analysis for seismic loadings. It is based on the finite element formulation incorporating analytical frequency-dependent infinite elements for the far field soil. The dynamic stiffness matrices of the far field region formulated using the present method in frequency domain can be easily transformed into the corresponding matrices in time domain. At first, the equivalent earthquake forces are evaluated along the interface between the near and the far fields from the free-field response analysis carried out in frequency domain, and the results are transformed into the time domain. An efficient procedure is developed for the convolution integrals to evaluate the interaction force along the interface, which depends on the response on the interface at the past time instances as well as the concurrent instance. Then, the dynamic responses are obtained for the equivalent earthquake force and the interaction force using Newmark direct integration technique. Since the response analysis is carried out in time domain, it can be easily extended to the nonlinear analysis. Example analysis has been carried out to verify the present method in a multi-layered half-space.

A reliable and cost-effective technique for the development of corrosion damage model is introduced to predict nonlinear time-dependent corrosion wastage of steel structures. A detailed explanation on how to propose a generalised mathematical formulation of the corrosion model is investigated in this paper (Part I), and verification and application of the developed method are covered in the following paper (Part II) by adopting corrosion data of a ship's ballast tank structure. In this study, probabilistic approaches including statistical analysis were applied to select the best fit probability density function (PDF) for the measured corrosion data. The sub-parameters of selected PDF, e.g., the largest extreme value distribution consisting of scale, and shape parameters, can be formulated as a function of time using curve fitting method. The proposed technique to formulate the refined time-dependent corrosion wastage model (TDCWM) will be useful for engineers as it provides an easy and accurate prediction of the 1) starting time of corrosion, 2) remaining life of the structure, and 3) nonlinear corrosion damage amount over time. In addition, the obtained outcome can be utilised for the development of simplified engineering software shown in Appendix B.

The classical Probabilistic Safety Analysis (PSA) does not include any time dependence explicitly. However, the success criteria (SC) could evolve during the cycle for some initiating events. In that sense, there is a type of sequence in which this time-dependency is quite important, the family of Anticipated Transient without Scram (ATWS) sequences in Pressurized Water Reactors. Therefore, a new risk-informed approach is proposed in this paper, which makes it possible to obtain the time-dependent SC evolution of the safety functions affected by the Moderator Temperature Coefficient (MTC) value. Then, the evolution of the ATWS conditional core damage probability (CCDP) could be obtained using a PSA model. To quantify the CCDP, the average values of the time-dependent failure probabilities must be computed. Finally, the comparison between the CCDP obtained through the application of the classical PSA approach and the new one makes it possible to quantify the impact of time-dependence on the SC of the headers that this new risk-informed ATWS approach can provide.
