RF MEMS Switches and Integrated Switching Circuits

  • Radio frequency (RF) microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) have been pursued for more than a decade as a solution of high-performance on-chip fixed, tunable and reconfigurable circuits. This paper reviews our research work on RF MEMS switches and switching circuits in the past five years. The research work first concentrates on the development of lateral DC-contact switches and capacitive shunt switches. Low insertion loss, high isolation and wide frequency band have been achieved for the two types of switches; then the switches have been integrated with transmission lines to achieve different switching circuits, such as single-pole-multi-throw (SPMT) switching circuits, tunable band-pass filter, tunable band-stop filter and reconfigurable filter circuits. Substrate transfer process and surface planarization process are used to fabricate the above mentioned devices and circuits. The advantages of these two fabrication processes provide great flexibility in developing different types of RF MEMS switches and circuits. The ultimate target is to produce more powerful and sophisticated wireless appliances operating in handsets, base stations, and satellites with low power consumption and cost.

  • The actual aircraft flight training can be done, throw this platform. this paper focuses on identifying the functions with respect to software components in the development of a aerodynamics system, which is based on the functions necessary to develop the real environment aircraft system. It also design activity diagram, concept as well as class diagram. This paper presents the main features and direction of aircraft to be equipped in the future gaming platforms. By designing a pilot platform updates that allow for new aircraft models students can understand exactly what they want and aircraft. this study presents a use case based on the aerodynamic simulation CSU concept to execution.

  • Most people cause disputes not to do things they do not want to do. Therefore, in this study, the mobile roulette system was studied to make role sharing easy and fun. The role sharing method is to rotate the roulette through the mobile application installed on the smartphone and throw the dart to check the result with the mobile application. Through this study, it is possible to set the role sharing that most people do not like to be as fun as the game, and the conflict due to the role sharing between family members can be reduced. It is also expected that it will contribute to leisure activities, not just unconditional roles.

  • To survive head-to-head competition, we should keep our labor productivities above those of other nations. However, our labor productivities are low compared to those of the developed countries. It is the well-known fact that we make up for the productivities with long work hours. Entering the line of developed nations safely and enjoying well-being age freely, we need to achieve high labor productivities without sacrificing work hours. What would be a fine solution? Back to the basics! Although it is important to enforce R&D on high-tech products, we should have so-called bluebird philosophy, being faithful to the basics and trying to find solutions at a stone's throw. Basics of basics may be unceasing improvement, establishing reasonable standard times, and maintaining them. To support going back to the basics, this thesis proposes VITAMAX, a motion and time study software. As VITAMAX stands for "Visual Improvement and Time Analysis for Maximizing Profits", it provides a simple and powerful visual tool which is useful for improving manual works and determining standard times. Since VITAMAX is based on the Microsoft Excel and VBA, it is very cost-effective and easy to use. VITAMAX may contribute to the profit increase of manufacturing companies, especially for the small and medium-sized enterprise.

  • This is a comparative study where we compare simulation results with model examining the time and direction the fire spreads when it breaks out. Also there is vertical distribution of temperature in carriage where the fire spreads out. This study is about demonstrating how to establish smokeless system in urban vehicle, about its necessity, and about vehicle system restructuring, This study also makes an effort to find more advanced method for efficient fire safety in trains, In existing vehicles, in case of fire, the smoke can't go out when doors are closed and hence it spreads in whole train. Even though the method of using ventilation or exhaust established inside the carriage to throw smoke out is much better than the way of opening end doors in each carriage, this study is trying to do research on second way. Through simulation we see that in second case, even though not as good as the first one, smoke can exit through gates. Even though the first method is better, the second can also be uses to let fire out. We can know that in the first case as the smoke can exit out faster, it provides more safety for people. So this system provides better fire safety condition.

Diminishing Procedural Boundaries in International Arbitration

  • The surge of cross border trade and transactions has seen international arbitration fast emerging as the preferred mode of dispute resolution. This phenomenon is especially remarkable in the Asian region. The Singapore International Arbitration Centre ("SIAC") aspires to contribute to this growth as one of the leading arbitral institutions. The objective of this article is to provide an insight into the key features of SIAC Rules. This article has been divided into two parts; the first part discusses how the SIAC Rules are helpful in building bridges in international arbitration between the common law and civil law systems. We have attempted to throw light on how the SIAC Rules may be tailored by the parties to bring about a harmonization in the common law and civil law practices in the conduct of the arbitration proceedings. In the second part of the article, we discuss the two most popular procedures introduced in the SIAC Rules in 2010 i.e. 'Emergency Arbitration' and 'Expedited procedures'. The emergency arbitration provisions enable a party to obtain order(s)/award for urgent interim relief(s) upon commencement of arbitral proceedings but pending the constitution of the main Tribunal. The expedited Procedure provisions give parties the option of having their disputes determined in six (6) months from the date of the constitution of the tribunal.

AN OPTICAL FIBER FEED LITTROW-MOUNTED SPECTROMETER (광섬유 피드 리트로마운트형 분광계)

  • A low-dispersion fiber feed Littrow-mounted grating spectrometer for education was designed and fabricated. The dispersion element is a reflective type blazed grating Edmundoptics NT 46-075 (spatial frequency 600 lines/mm, dimension $30mm{\times}30mm$, blazed angle 8.6 degree). The optical fiber coupler module for optical guiding from telescope to spectrometer is composed of a multi-mode FC connector - FC connector optical fiber patch cord (core/cladding diameter $50{\mu}m/125{\mu}m$) and two 1.25" throw-tube couplers. The lens for collimating and imaging is a general purpose focal length 50 mm camera lens (f/1.8). The device for optical path control is a rectangular prism (size $25mm{\times}25mm$). The imaging camera sensor is a Meade DSI Pro 2 CCD sensor (black and white, $752{\times}582$ pixels and pixel size $8.3{\mu}m{\times}8.6{\mu}m$). Softwares for data logging and analysis consist of Meade Autostar Suite, NIH imagej and Vernier Logger Pro 3. The wavelength coverage range of the spectrometer is 205 nm at central wavelength 550 nm. The wavelength resolution is 1.7 nm.

  • The objective of IM rocket motor is to minimize the probability of inadvertent initiation and severity of subsequent collateral damage, hence it is important to define personnel and equipment survivability to a rocket motor accident. The violent response probability associated with shock, impact and thermal effects be minimized. And during production, transportation/storage and stack of rocket motor, sympathetic detonation, giving severe effects of the propagation of adverse reaction on its surroundings, be reduced. Hence Reaction type also based on reaction results of the overpressure, fragment throw and heat flux.

  • Exception mechanism in Java allows programmers to define, throw and catch exceptional conditions. It is important for the development of reliable programs to make sure that exceptions are handled appropriately at run-time. In this paper, we develop an exception monitoring system, which can help programmers trace and handle exceptions effectively. Using this system, programmers can examine exception handling process in detail by tracing only interesting exceptions, and can handle exceptions more effectively. To reduce performance overhead, we design the system based on code instrumentation. Moreover, we show the effectiveness of the system by experiments on benchmark programs.

  • The increase of vehicles stagnations leads to the increasing attention to the way customers pay and a large number of projects on electronic cash system. Transport system is comprised of a number of advanced technologies, including information processing, communications, control, and electronics. Recently many research on a system which provides contact in order to protect driver's vehicle passage have been carried out. And some potential problems from that system are being reviewed by electronic cash system. In this papers, we suggest RF protocol developing technology using the concept of electronic cash. ATM electronic cash developing is consist of component of pre-developed coin throw, integration of component using its, and production of more requirement-satisfactory ITS solution. Result increase 15~40% pre-type vehicles stagnations. Especially, we expect this proposed concept would be well adapted to our national environments.
