A Low cost Sensorless Control Circuit for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (영구자석 동기 전동기의 염가형 센서리스 제어회로)

  • In this paper the low cost sensorless control circuit for a PM synchronous motor without the mechanical rotor position sensors is presented. The sensorless control algorithm and position detection circuit for the sinusoidal current wave drive is more complex than that of the rectangular current wave drive. The proposed position sensing circuit is composed of an operational amplifier and several passive elements. The design procedures for getting the optimal parameters for the position sensing circuit are presented. The performance of the proposed algorithm is verified through the simulations and experiments.

  • This paper presents a design and characteristics analysis of an SRM drive for a hydraulic pump application. A hydraulic pump is used AC Induction motor in conventional applications. The suggested drive system supplies required pressure on-line for energy saving, while conventional one holds the pressure during stand by period. The prototype motor is designed and tested through simulation and experiments.

  • The remote control of mobile robot is widely used to perform dangerous and complex tasks such as underwater exploration and cleaning of nuclear reactor. For this purpose, the obstacle avoidance process will proceed to ensure a safe drive. In this paper, we tested that mobile robot drive in which replaced a pipe with a box. After we measured the distance around the obstacle through a sensor of robot, we got the information that changed haptic force from the distance of the obstacle.

  • In this paper, a performance evaluation of different current regulators for induction motor drive systems fed by IGBT inverter is presented. The twoparts of current regulation are considered : current error compensation part, voltage modulation part. The characteristics of hysteresis, synchronous PI, decoupled PI, predictive, deadbeat and stage feedback controllers are analyzed and the steady-state performances and transient responses of current regulation are well compared through the simulation and experimental results.

  • This paper is proposed to position and speed control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) drive without mechanical sensor. The rotor position, which is an essential component of any vector control schemes, is calculated through the instantaneous stator flux position and an estimated flux value of rotating reference frame. A closed-loop state observer is implemented to compute the speed feedback signal. The validity of the proposed sensorless scheme is confirmed by simulation and its dynamic performance is examined in detail.

  • The problem of tension control in metal-strip processing line is discussed. A new mathematical dynamic model which relates tension change, motor-speed change and roll-gap change is developed. Through the computer simulation of this model, parameter sensitivity, the tension transfer phenominon, and static and dynamic characteristics of strip tension were studied. Guidelines are developed to help one selecting locations of the master-speed drive in multi-drive speed control for tension adjustment and reducing the effect of interaction between tension and roll gap control.

  • This paper proposes a fuzzy proportional-Integral (PI) controller for the precise tracking control of optical disk systems based on the genetic algorithm (GA). The fuzzy PI control rules are optimized by the GA to yield an optimal fuzzy PI controller. We validate the feasibility of the proposed method through a numerical simulation.

  • This paper describes a study on the developments of the high power brushless DC(BLDC) servo system for electric gun/turret drive system. The servo control unit including the DSP based digital servo unit, power amplifier, signal conditioning circuit, internal power circuit is designed and implemented for driving the 10hp BLDC servo system. The developed system is applied to the gun/turret drive & stabilization simulator system and the control performance is verfied through the experiments.

  • A novel control strategy for the induction motor drive, based on the field acceleration method, is presented. The torque is controlled through variations of the stator flux angular velocity. The stator flux is controlled by using a feed forward control scheme, with the stator flux reference vector adjusted so as to obtain the fixed rotor flux amplitude.
