Recent years have seen an increasing range of planar Hall resistive (PHR) sensor applications in the field of magnetic sensing. This study describes a new application of the PHR sensor to monitor a current. Initially, thermal drift experiments of the PHR sensor are performed, to determine the accuracy of the PHR signal output. The results of the thermal drift experiments show that there is no considerable drift in the signals attained from 0.1, 0.5, 1 and 2 mA current. Consequently, the PHR sensor provides adequate accuracy of the signal output, to perform the current monitoring experiments. The performances of the PHR sensor with bilayer and trilayer structures are then tested. The minimum detectable currents of the PHR sensor using bilayer and trilayer structures are $0.51{\mu}A$ and 54 nA, respectively. Therefore, the PHR sensor having trilayer structure is the better choice to detect ultra low current of few tens nanoampere.

Natural gas is one of clean fuels that can replace petroleum-based fuels, because it has low exhaust emission, comparatively high thermal efficiency and abundant deposits. In this addition, owing to high octane number and wide lean flammability limit, it has a strong point to increase the compression ratio. For this reason, the research is being actively executed to increase the generating power and thermal efficiency of the engine by raising the compression ratio through utilization of high octane number relevant to development of CNG engine. In this study, 0.63L single cylinder diesel engine has been used to alter easily compression ratio. Compression ratio has gotten under control by modifying the thickness of gasket between cylinder head and block without major structural modifications. As the result, as compression ratio has increased, generating power and fuel consumption ratio have been improved. As for emission concentration, as compression ratio has increased, THC concentration has been decreased while exhause concentration of NOx increased. In case compression ratio has excessively increased, brake output decrease and cycle variation have been increased. As the result acquired by analyzing brake output, fuel consumption ratio, cycle variation and exhaust, the engine driving condition has acquired $\varepsilon=13$ as the optimal compression ratio in this study.
Air-cooling method is adopted on the basis of the requirements for the thermal stability and convenient field use of an electrical source transmitter. The power losses of the transmitter are determined after calculating the losses of the alternating current (AC)-direct current (DC) power supply, the constant-current circuit, and the output circuit. According to the analysis of the characteristics of a heat sink with striped fins and a fan, the engineering calculation expression of the Nusselt number and the design process for air-cooled dissipation are proposed. Experimental results verify that the error between calculated and measured values of the transmitter losses is 12.2%, which meets the error design requirements of less than 25%. Steady-state average temperature rise of the heat sink of the AC-DC power supply is $22^{\circ}C$, which meets the design requirements of a temperature rise between $20^{\circ}C$ and $40^{\circ}C$. The transmitter has favorable thermal stability with 40 kW output power.

This paper is about research of scintillator layer, which is used for Hybrid method to increase electric signals in a-Se, the material of Direct method. In case of the thermal evaporation, CsI has column structure which is an disadvantage as scintillator. But it decreases scattering of incident X-ray, has better Light output intensity than other scintillation materials. CsI was made by Thermal evaporation. The Doping material, Na, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7g were added in each sample. Analysis of absorbed wavelength, PL(Photoluminescence), Light output intensity, SEM, and XRD analysis were performed to analyze optical characteristics. Doping rate of CsI:Na to use as scintillation layer in a-Se based detector could be optimized.
Energy simulation tools can provide information on the amount of heat transfer through building envelope components, which are considered the main sources of heat loss in buildings. Therefore, it is important to improve the quality of outputs from energy simulation tools and also the process of obtaining them. In this paper, a new Building Energy Performance Assessment Tool (BEPAT) is introduced, which provides users with granular data related to heat transfer through every single wall, window, door, roof, and floor in a building and automatically saves all the related data in text files. This information can be used to identify the envelope components for thermal improvement through energy retrofit or during the design phase. The generated data can also be adopted in the design of energy smart homes, building design tools, and energy retrofit tools as a supplementary dataset. BEPAT is developed by modifying EnergyPlus source code as the energy simulation engine using C++, which only requires Input Data File (IDF) and weather file to perform the energy simulation and automatically provide detailed output. To validate the BEPAT results, a computer model is developed in Revit for use in BEPAT. Validating BEPAT's output with EnergyPlus "advanced output" shows a difference of less than 2% and thus establishing the capability of this tool to facilitate the provision of detailed output on the quantity of heat transfer through walls, fenestrations, roofs, and floors.

Photovoltaic (PV) modules output changes noticeable with variations in temperature and irradiance. In general it is has been shown that a $1^{\circ}C$ increase in temperature results in a 0.5% drop in output. In this paper, seven PV module types are analyzed for variation in temperature and irradiance, and the resulting output characteristics examined. The 7 modules types utilized are as follows; 3 poly crystalline modules, 2 single crystalline modules, 1 back contact single crystalline module and 1 HIT module. 3 groups of experiments are then conducted on the modules; tests with varying irradiance values, tests with module temperature varying under $25^{\circ}C$ and tests with module temperature varying over $25^{\circ}C$. The experiments results show that as temperature rises the follow is observed; Pmax decreases by 0.6%, Voc decreases by about 0.4%, and Isc increasing by between 0.03%${\sim}$0.08%. In addition, an irradiance decrease of 100 w/m2 translates into a 10% drop in Pmax.

A commercial $0.25{\mu}m$ GaN process is used to implement 6-18 GHz wideband power amplifier (PA) monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs). GaN HEMTs are advantageous for enhancing RF power due to high breakdown voltages. However, the large-signal models provided by the foundry service cannot guarantee model accuracy up to frequencies close to their maximum oscillation frequency ($F_{max}$). Generally, the optimum output load point of a PA varies severely according to frequency, which creates difficulties in generating watt-level output power through the octave bandwidth. This study overcomes these issues by the development of in-house large-signal models that include a thermal model and by applying distributed L-C output load matching to reactive matched amplifiers. The proposed GaN PAs have successfully accomplished output power over 5 W through the octave bandwidth.
This paper proposes a cooling system using thermoelectric elements for improving the output of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) modules. The temperature characteristics that improve the output of a BIPV system have rarely been studied up to now but some researchers have proposed a method using a ventilator. The efficiency of a ventilator depends mainly on the weather such as wind, irradiation etc. Because this cooling system is so sensitive to the velocity of the wind, it is unable to operate in the nominal operating cell temperature (NOCT) or the standard test condition (STC) which allow it to generate the maximum output. This paper proposes a cooling system using thermoelectric elements to solve such problems. The temperature control of thermoelectric elements can be controlled independently in an outdoor environment because it is performed by a micro-controller. In addition, it can be operated around the NOCT or the STC through an algorithm for temperature control. Therefore, the output of the system is increased and the efficiency is raised. This paper proves the validity of the proposed method by comparing the data obtained through experiments on the cooling systems of BIPV modules using a ventilator and thermoelectric elements.
