The purpose of this study is to analyze the applicability and effectiveness of the Person - centered counseling program in the field of counseling service provided by the Independent Living Center for Persons with Disabilities. Thirteen participants, operating peer counseling program at the Independent Living Center who finished 9 sessions of person - centered counseling program over 3 months were interviewed. The collected data were analyzed using Consensual Qualitative Research (CQR). Eight categories such as "The relationship with myself and others", "Accepting oneself though with discomfort", "changed perspective about problems", "Recognizing the parts that oneself was not aware", "Accepting one's potentials as well as limitations", "Opportunity to reflect one's life", "Attitude about life ahead" were retrieved with 23 sub-categories. Based on the results, the possibility of applying person - centered approach on peer counseling was presented. Finally, several suggestions for the development of person-centered approach for peer counseling were discussed.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of peer attachment on life satisfaction of adolescents and to verify the mediating effects of career identity and smart-phone dependency in the process. For this purpose, the data from the sixth year Korean Child and Youth Panel Survey(2015) on 1,823 middle school students were analyzed by hierarchical regression analysis and path analysis among variables. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, peer attachment of adolescents had a significantly positive effect on their life satisfaction. Second, adolescents' career identity had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between peer attachment and life satisfaction. Third, the effect of peer attachment on life satisfaction of adolescents was partly mediated by their smart-phone dependency. On the basis of above findings, the practical programs to enhance career-identity and life satisfaction and reduce smart-phone dependency were presented.

The purpose of this study is to verify the causal relationship between social withdrawal and peer alienation among Korean children. The survey study participants were 2,110 children in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. The 5-year longitudinal data (Korean Child and Youth Panel Survey; KCYPS) of 1st grade elementary school student cohort was used. Latent Growth Modeling was applied to analyze the causality over time of social withdrawal and peer isolation. The results revealed that the trajectories of children's social withdrawal decreased over time. Children's social withdrawal showed significant individual differences in terms of initial value and rates of change. The initial value and slope of children's social withdrawal had an effect on the peer alienation in the 3rd grade; however, there was no significant effect on the peer alienation in the 5th grade.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference in self competence between children from multicultural families and children from Korean families, and to study how interparental conflict and peer relationship influence the self competence of children. The subjects of the present study were 138 children of multicultural families and 254 children of Korean families in the 3rd or 4th grade in Seoul, Daegu, Gyeong-gi province, and Gyeong-buk province. The instruments of measurement were the Children's Perception of Interparental Conflict, Friendship and the Perceived Competence Scale for Children. Date were analyzed by independent samples T-test, MANCOVA, ANCOVA and multiple regression using the SPSS program. The results showed there was significant difference in the self competence of children between those from multicultural families and those from Korean families, but there was no significant difference when income was controlled. Second, for children of multicultural families, gender, income, and the intensity of interparental conflict had significant influence on self competence while gender, aid, conflict, and disclosure of negative affect in friendship, and being a peacemaker in interparental conflict influenced self competence significantly in the case of children of Korean families.
The aim of this study is to identify factors that the victimization by family violence has influence on peer violence perpetration through the mediation of anxiety and aggression in out-of-school youths. Subjects consist of 169 out-of-school youths in Chungbuk and data are analyzed by regression analysis with 18.0 version. The findings of this study are as follows. First, the victimization by family violence has positive influence on peer violence perpetration. Second, when the mediating effect of anxiety and aggression is tested, aggression only plays a mediating role between family violence victimization and peer violence behavior. On the basis of the results, this study suggest that we make efforts such as prompt intervention for out-of-school youths and their's family after school dropout, the reinforcement of family relationship, family function and youth competency, and the transition of social perception regarding out-of-school youths to decrease family and peer violence.
The primary purpose of this study was to examine to what extent adolescents' daily self-evaluation mediates the effect of experiencing intimacy in parent-adolescent interactions on positive peer interactions the next day, even after controlling for gender and grade level. We employed a daily diary method for seven days in a sample of 452 Korean adolescents, collecting checklist data at the end of each day. Data were analyzed by using hierarchical linear modeling. According to moderated multilevel mediation analyses, the variance of self-evaluation explained 83% of the variance in the lagged effect of parental intimacy on the next day peer interaction even after the upper-level effects of gender and grade level were accounted for. Forth graders were more likely than 7th graders to have a more positive view of themselves when they experienced parental intimacy the previous day. Girls were less likely to experience positive peer interactions when they perceived less intimacy with their parents the day before. Results suggested that it would be most effective for peer relationship programs to teach parents and adolescents how to experience intimacy in their daily interactions, particularly in ways that help adolescents to think more positively about themselves. It would be helpful for parents to learn about various ways to compliment and encourage the adolescent child in everyday conversations. Lastly, findings in grade level differences also suggest that these programs might be especially effective for 4th graders more than 7th graders.

The data were analyzed by t -tests, Pearson correlations, and SEM using SPSS 19.0 and Amos 18.0. Results: Based on the research objective, 4 important results were summarized. First, father attachment and mother attachment had direct effects on adolescent life satisfaction. Second, mother attachment had an indirect effect on adolescent life satisfaction through peer attachment. Third, father attachment had an indirect effect on adolescent life satisfaction through romantic relationships. Fourth, mother attachment had an indirect effect on adolescent life satisfaction through peer attachment and romantic relationships. This study aims to investigate whether financial literacy, parental socialization, peer influence and self-control have a significant impact on money management among students of a Malaysian public university. In most settings, the studies on the determinants of personal saving behavior among university students focus on personality factors, attitudes toward money and possessions, and financial knowledge as predictors of money management behavior. Primary data are collected using a self-administered questionnaire with the samples comprised 186 students. The findings show that all the financial literacy and parent socialization have a positive relationship with money management; meanwhile, peer influences and self-control have a negative relationship with money management. This is because the majority of students admit they cannot control their self in managing their money. In this study, parent socialization has a significant relationship with money management which signifies that parents are playing essential roles in ensuring their children to establish money management. In practical, this study can contribute to the parents in providing their children to foster sound money management. Besides, Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (National Higher Education Fund Corporation) PTPTN should monitor the loan, and management process and arrange motivational program so that students can more focus on the educational expense.
