임플란트 식립 유형에 따른 후향적 연구 (Retrospective studies of dental implant placement at each intraoral site and situation)

  • Purpose: Developments in micro/macrostructures of implants and surgical techniques brought out stable outcomes of implant dentistry. The aim of this study was to evaluate the distributions of implant patients, the types of implanted sites, and the success or survival rates of various implant systems and to analyze the implant placement done at each specificintraoral site and situation. Materials and Methods: The data of dental implantations collected between 1992 and 2006 at the Department of Periodontology in 00000 University Hospital were analyzed. Results: 1. Largest part of the patients were at the age of 40s and 50s in bothgender who lost their teeth mostly by periodontaldiseases and caries at the posterior intraoral sites as major ones. Bone densities of type II(mandible) and III(maxilla) were likely to be seen with quantity of type B. Lengths of the implants between 10 and 15 mm and wide platform took the largest part. 2. Survival rates of $Implantium^{(R)}(98.8%)$, $Xive^{(R)}(100%)$ and ITI $TE^{(R)}(100%)$ were high when $Frialit-2^{(R)}$ showed 82%(poor bone density area) or 87.2%(combined with additional therapy). $IMZ^{(R)}$ had lowest cumulative survival(67.5%) and success rate(49.4%) amongst all. 3. Replacement with 2 wide or 3 regular platforms showed no significant differences in survival rate and marginal bone loss atmandibular posterior area. In single restoration of mandibular second molar, 5-year success rate of machined surface $Br{\aa}nemark^{(R)}(70.37%)$ was lower than that of rough surface $ITI^{(R)}$ SLA(100%). 4. Replacement of single tooth in anterior area showed high survival rate of 94.5%. 5. The success rates of $Br{\aa}nemark$ Ti-Unite and ITI SLA at posterior maxilla with poor bone density both showed stable outcomes. 6. 10-year cumulative survival rate of implants with maxillary sinus augmentation by lateral window approach appeared to be 96.60%. Low survival rate(75%) was shown when there were more than two complications combined. Height of grafted bone remained stable above the implant apex. Conclusions : Rough surfaced implants showed stable outcomes in most of the situation including poor bone density and additional therapy combined.

TG Osseotite 임플란트의 성공률에 대한 임상적 연구 (CLINICAL STUDY ON SUCCESS RATE OF TG OSSEOTITE IMPLANT)

  • The purpose of this study is to review the prognosis of the TG Osseotite implant(3i Co, USA) placed in partial edentulous area of oral cavity and to suspect the possible causes leading to failure. 124 TG Osseotite implants that had been inserted between 2000 - 2002 were followed up for 2 years(avg : 9.5 months) in function. Medical records, and radiographs were evaluated and analyzed by the over all success rate, gender and age factor, general disease, implant fixture length and diameter, implant site, bone density, and various surgical methods. Chi square test was used statistically. Of the 124 TG Osseotite implants, 9 implants(7.3%) were removed in early phase and 3 implants(2.4%) were in late phase. The cumulative survival rate was 90.2%. The failure of the TG Osseotite implant was closely related with the use of bone graft techniques such as sinus elevation or immediate implantation and not with the age, sex, general disease, implant site, bone density of implanted site. The failure of the TG Osseotite implant was well developed when it was the wide type of implant and it was inserted for single tooth replacement. The developement of peri-implantitis was the most important factor in the failure of the TG Osseotite implant.

  • The object of this study was to determine rate of ability restoration after arthroscopic surgeries in Thoroughbred racehorses. The racehorses that under arthroscopic surgery due to be injured his limbs were studied during exercise or training at Busan Race Park from 2005 to 2010. Rate of arthroscopic surgical treatments was 1.4% (63/4642). The results of arthroscopic surgery for the removal of osteochondral fragments from 70 limbs in 63 horses are reported. Number of patients under arthroscopic surgery were 63 and 58 horses were recovered from the surgeries and 5 horses were in training or resting at the time of publication. Only 52 of 58 horses had previous race experiences before the surgeries. Success horses of returned to the same level of performance were 31 horses (59.6%) and failed horses were 21 horses (40.4%). Average resting periods in success and failed horses were 7 months and 8.8 months, respectively. Resting periods in success horses were shorter than failed horses.

Effectiveness of ultra-wide implants in the mandibular and maxillary posterior areas: a 5-year retrospective clinical study

  • Objectives: Ultra-wide implants may be used as a replacement if existing implants fail. This study was conducted to evaluate the factors influencing the prognosis and failure of ultra-wide implants. Patients and Methods: This study evaluated whether sex, age, site, diameter, length, additional surgery, implant stability (primary and secondary), and reason for ultra-wide implant placement affect the 5-year survival and success rates and marginal bone loss (MBL) of ultra-wide implants. Seventy-eight ultra-wide implants that were placed in 71 patients (39 males and 32 females) from 2008 to 2010 were studied. One-way ANOVA analysis was conducted to evaluate the statistical significance of MBL according to the patient's sex, implant site, and diameter. Independent sample t-tests were used to determine the statistical significance of MBL analysis which was used to determine the significance of the 5-year success and survival rates related to the variables. One-way ANOVA was conducted to evaluate the statistical significance of sex, implantation site, diameter, and MBL. Independent sample t-tests were used to evaluate the correlation between implantability and MBL for implantation reasons, while additional surgery, length, and Kaplan-Meier analysis were used to evaluate 5-year survival and success rates. Results: The mean age of patients was 54.2 years with a survival rate of 92.3% and a success rate of 83.3% over a mean 97.8-month period of observation. MBL averaged 0.2 mm after one year of prosthetic function loading and 0.54 mm at the time of final observation. Success rates correlated with primary stability (P=0.045), survival rates correlated with secondary stability (P=0.036), and MBL did not correlate with any variables. Conclusion: Ultra-wide implants can be used to achieve secure initial fixation in the maxillary and mandibular molar regions with poor bone quality or for alternative purposes in cases of previous implant failure.

시간과 공간적 특성에 따른 축구 패스 성공률 분석: 2018 러시아 월드컵 대회 자료를 중심으로 (Influences on Time and Spatial Characteristics of Soccer Pass Success Rate: A Case Study of the 2018 World Cup in Russia)

  • 이 연구는 2018 FIFA 러시아 월드컵 영상자료에서 수집한 2차 가공 데이터와 공식기록을 비교 및 활용하여 패스 정확도의 시간적, 공간적 특성을 규명 하는데 목적이 있었다. 이를 위해 총 128경기를 대상으로 경기결과, 패스 시간, 패스 위치에 따른 패스성공률을 반복측정 이원변량분석을 활용해 검증했다. 연구결과 승패 집단 간 패스성공률의 차이는 나타나지 않았으며, 패스시간 및 위치에 대한 상호작용효과도 발견되지 않았다. 패스시간에 따른 패스성공률은 전반전이 후반전에 비해 높게나왔으며, 15~30분 지점인 전반 중반(79.2%)과 60~75분 지점인 후반 중반(77.9%)에서 가장 높은 성공률을 보였다. 패스지역에 따른 패스성공률은 수비-미드필드지역(83.9%), 미드필드-공격지역(81.7%), 수비지역(70.6%), 공격지역(61.1%)순으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 월드컵 경기의 상대적 경쟁의 강도가 높은 특성에 따라 승패 팀의 패스성공률의 차이가 나타나지 않았다고 판단되며, 향후 다양한 매개변수를 적용해 승패 요소 보다는 경기내용 자체를 분석하기 위한 후속 연구가 필요하다.

자가이식한 상악 견치의 생존율과 성공률에 영향을 주는 예후 인자 연구 (Prognostic Factors Influencing Survival and Success Rates of Autotransplanted Maxillary Canine)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 인위적으로 형성된 수여부에 자가이식한 상악 견치의 생존율과 성공률에 대해 알아보고 성공적인 이식에 영향을 주는 요인에 대해 분석하는 것이다. 28명 남녀 어린이의 37개의 자가이식한 상악 견치에 대해 후향적으로 조사하였으며 평균 관찰 기간은 25.1개월이었다. 임상 및 방사선적 평가를 통해 동요도, 병적인 치근 흡수, 수직적 치조골소실 그리고 유착에 대해 조사하였다. 관찰 기간 동안 100%의 생존을 보였으나 13개의 치아가 실패로 분류되어 64.9%의 성공률을 보였다. Cox 비례위험모형에서 성공률에 영향을 주는 요인은 공여치아의 치낭의 비후로 나타났다. 이 연구는 임상가들에게 자가치아이식 시 인위적으로 치조와를 형성할 경우 예후를 판단하는 지침이 될 수 있다고 생각된다.

Effects of temperature and salinity on egg development and larval settlement of an invasive ascidian species, Herdmania momus (Savigny, 1816)

  • The effects of temperature and salinity on egg development and settlement of the ascidian Herdmania momus were investigated. Adult specimens were collected from the Dodu Yacht facility in Jeju Island, Korea(33°30'30.54"N, 126°27'55.46"E) in August 2018. Egg development and larval settlement were observed and recorded at 8 h intervals using a stereomicroscope, under nine temperature (10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31, and 34℃), and four salinity regimens (28, 30, 32, and 34 psu). The highest hatching rate (82.8±7%) was observed at 32 psu and 25℃ and the lowest hatching rate (1.0±2%) was at 34 psu and 13℃. The developmental rate (0.222±0.0994) was highest at 28 psu and 28℃, and lowest (0.016±0.008) at 30 psu and 13℃. The highest settlement success rate (77.1±5%) was at 32psu and 25℃ and the lowest(0.1±1.0%) was at 30psu, and 13℃. The rate of settlement(0.080±0.000) was highest at 28psu and 28℃, and lowest(0.013±0.000) at 30psu and 13℃. Both hatching and settlement success rates increased as temperature increased and tended to decrease beyond an optimal temperature range. Herdmania momus preferred 30-34 psu salinity and 22-25℃ temperature. This study provides baseline information about the life history of H. momus, and important data to control the damage caused by the increase in number and distribution of this invasive ascidian.

기후변화와 인간의 방해 및 종간경쟁이 두루미 월동생태와 이동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of weather change, human disturbance and interspecific competition on life-history and migration of wintering Red-crowned cranes)

  • 월동기간 동안 월동조류의 생리 및 영양학적 상태는 이후 번식지로의 이동성공과 번식성공에 영향을 줄 수 있음은 잘 알려져 있다. 그러나 환경적 요인들이 월동기간 동안 어떻게 몸 상태에 영향을 주어 장기적으로 이동과 번식에 영향을 주는지에 대해서는 아직까지 잘 알려져 있지 않다. 본 연구는 월동기간 동안 온도변화와 월동지에서의 인간 활동에 따른 방해가 개체수준에서의 월동하는 조류의 생활사에 미치는 영향과 번식지로의 이동 및 잠재적 번식 성공에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 동적상태의존 월동 생활사 모델을 개발하였다. 모델에 사용된 지수는 월동개체군에 대한 연구가 잘 수행되어 있는 철원의 두루미 자료를 이용하였다. 모델은 온도 변화나 인간의 방해요인의 영향이 생존과 번식지로의 이동을 위한 에너지 축적 그리고 누적된 스트레스의 감소를 위한 자원 분배에 영향을 주는 것으로 예측하였다. 특히 월동지에 도래한 두루미 몸무게의 회복률은 기온변화가 적고 방해요인의 영향이 낮을수록 빨랐으며, 체내의 누적 스트레스는 기온변화가 크고 방해요인의 영향이 높을수록 회복속도가 낮을 것으로 예측되었다. 또한 월동지의 취식지를 공유하는 다른 종의 밀도가 높을수록 두루미의 몸무게 회복률이 낮은 것으로 예측되었다. 끝으로 모델의 예측된 결과를 통해 월동지에서의 월동조류 보전전략에 대해 고찰하였다.

KOMPSAT-3A 영상과 항공정사영상의 영상정합 성공률 향상 방법 (A Method to Improve Matching Success Rate between KOMPSAT-3A Imagery and Aerial Ortho-Images)

  • 고해상도 위성영상 활용의 증가와 함께 자동 정밀 기하보정의 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 정밀기하보정을 위한 지상기준점(ground control point, GCP)을 수집하는 방법 중 하나로 항공정사영상과 같은 영상지도의 일부를 추출한 칩(chip) 영상을 이용하는 것을 들 수 있고, 영상 정합 기법을 이용하여 자동화할 수 있다. 이 때 통합기준점과 같이 기존에 측량이 이루어진 지상기준점을 대상으로 칩 영상을 제작하는 경우 개수의 제한으로 영상 정합 성공률의 중요성이 증가한다. 이 연구의 목적은 KOMPSAT-3A 영상과 항공정사영상 기반 지상 기준점 칩 영상 간 정합 성공률을 향상시키기 위한 방법을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 KOMPSAT-3A 전정색(panchromatic, PAN) 영상, 다중분광(multispectral, MS) 영상, 융합(pansharpening, PS) 영상과 항공정사영상의 각 밴드 조합에 대해 영상 정합을 실시하고 성공률을 비교하였다. 그 결과 주로 사용되고 있는 전정색 영상과 다중분광 영상을 이용할 때 약 10-30%의 영상 정합 성공률이 융합 영상을 이용할 때 약 40-50%로 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 KOMPSAT-3A 위성영상과 항공정사영상의 정합에 있어 융합 영상을 사용하는 것이 정합 성공률을 향상시키는데 도움이 되는 것으로 판단된다.

Risk factors affecting the difficulty of fiberoptic nasotracheal intubation

  • Background: The success rate of intubation under direct laryngoscopy is greatly influenced by laryngoscopic grade using the Cormack-Lehane classification. However, it is not known whether grade under direct laryngoscopy can also affects the success rate of nasotracheal intubation using a fiberoptic bronchoscpe, so this study investigated the same. In addition, we investigated other factors that influence the success rate of fiberoptic nasotracheal intubation (FNI). Methods: FNI was performed by 18 anesthesiology residents under general anesthesia in patients over 15 years of age who underwent elective oral and maxillofacial operations. In all patients, the Mallampati grade was measured. Laryngeal view grade under direct laryngoscopy, and the degree of secretion and bleeding in the oral cavity was measured and divided into 3 grades. The time required for successful FNI was measured. If the intubation time was > 5 minutes, it was evaluated as a failure and the airway was managed by another method. The failure rate was evaluated using appropriate statistical method. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves and area under the curve (AUC) were also measured. Results: A total of 650 patients were included in the study, and the failure rate of FNI was 4.5%. The patient's sex, age, height, weight, Mallampati, and laryngoscopic view grade did not affect the success rate of FNI (P > 0.05). BMI, the number of FNI performed by residents (P = 0.03), secretion (P < 0.001), and bleeding (P < 0.001) grades influenced the success rate. The AUCs of bleeding and secretion were 0.864 and 0.798, respectively, but the AUC of BMI, the number of FNI performed by residents, Mallampati, and laryngoscopic view grade were 0.527, 0.616, 0.614, and 0.544, respectively. Conclusion: Unlike in intubation under direct laryngoscopy, in the case of FNI, oral secretion and nasal bleeding had a significant effect on FNI difficulty than Mallampati grade or Laryngeal view grade.
