Inhibitory Effect of Lithospermum erythrorhizon Extracts on Melanin Biosynthesis (지치(Lithospermum erythrorhizon) 추출물의 멜라닌 생합성 억제효과)

  • To estimate the inhibitory effect of Lithospemum erythrorhizon root extract on melanin biosynthesis, we tested its inhibitory effects on tyrosinase promoter in B16 mouse melanoma cells. Lithospermum erthrorhizon root extract had inhibitory effect above $33\%$ on tyrosinase promoter at $10{\mu}g/mL$ and exhibited no cytotoxicity under $100{\mu}g/mL$. Also, melanin biosynthesis decreased approximately $11\%$ and $24\%$ at $10{\mu}g/mL$ and $100{\mu}g/mL$, respectively. Therefore, Lithospermum erythrorhizon root extract would be considered very effective regulator of tyrosinase promoter and melanin biosynthesis.

  • This study was aimed at giving help to the people intending to change their own hair color design and also providing the guide line to the cosmetic circles for developing new hair color design and promoting sales by statistically analyzing seasonal changes of hair colors puplished on women's magazines(Vogue Korea, Estetica Korea, Woman Chosun, Ce.ci) from 2003 to 2006. The researching methods were as follows; (1) hair colors published on women's magazines from september 2003 to August 2006 were measured by N.C.S. color reader(4 magazines $\times$10 main hair colors/magazine $\times$ 12 months $\times$ 3 years = 1,440 colors). (2) N.C.S. tone is made of percentage, so measured values and chromas were statistically analyzed by mean, standard deviation, and seasonal deferences were statistically analyzed by t-test and specified on high significant values. But hues were not made of percentage, so these were statistically analyzed by cross tabulation analysis, $x^2$ -test and specified on high significant values. These all had been analyzed by SPSS program(ver. 11.0). The results were as follows; (1) Usually seasonal changes of hair values were significant, specially in foreign licensed magazines, and bright values appeared in S/S and dark values in F/W. (2) Seasonal changes of hair hues were significant only on foreign women's magazines. Therefore seasonal changes of korean hair colors were not significant compared by foreign hair colors because of hardness of color changes of dark black hair and hair damages by hair tints and bleaches and trends of well being and hair care. But hair color changes have been developed gradually and will developed furthermore. So korean hair cosmetic circles have to present hair color trends deferenciated by seasons. And S/S hair values have to be brignt and F/W have to be dark. And new seasonal hair hues matched by korean have to be developed and presented.

  • Sexiness is the image of a person who attracts attention regardless of his/her age, and today's society has created a more positive impression by transforming the image into something others consider even more attractive. Consequently, we begin to take interest in makeup, - a means of portraying a good impression. Eyebrow makeup in particular, being at the center of the determining factor of a good facial image, can be thought of as the makeup that can most effectively transform one's image. The purpose of this study was to analyze the difference in perceived sexiness depending on the general perception of eyebrow makeup. This study produced an eyebrow stimulus that applied the average rate of change in an image transformation of different eyebrows in order to raise the objective credibility of the sensibility evaluation so it could determine the figure of influence that eyebrows had on facial impressions. The research results showed that the majority of female university students believed that eyebrows were an effective means of expression in changing facial images and attributed a higher mature and sexy image if the average ratio of change was higher. The study, could also identify that a sexy image was perceived when the average rate of change was between 0.39~0.44. In addition, when the gradient of the shape of the viewers' own eyebrows was low, it could be verified that they perceived an image to be sexy from seeing eyebrows with a relatively high gradient.

  • The purpose of this study was to arrange the korean women's hair styles of the beginning of 21st century and make hair style image making chart to use personal image making consulting data through analyze actress hair styles of broadcasting TV drama. To accomplish this purposes, picked up the two most popular dramas per each broadcasting stations, KBS1, KBS2, MBC, SBS, in february 2004. and analyzed and arranged hair styles of actress and at the last made the hair style image making chart. The results of the research are as belows. 1. Hair trends of february 2004. were Modern Sophisticated, Active and Romantic. 2. The results of three classifications of hair style trends, form, color, accessory, were as belows. 1) Form : Layer, left part, straight, low wave, long hair, no volme, bang were in vogue. Generally, Modern Sophisticated, Active, Romantic feeling were in vogue. 2) Color : Black, brown, two tone color were in vogue. Generally Modern Sophisticated, Romantic, Active feeling were in vogue. 3) Accessory : Hair bands & pins were in vogue. Generally these gave the Modern, Active feeling. 3.   • This study was aimed at giving help to the people intending to change their hair fashion feeling for changing their own hair colour design and also providing the guide line to the cosmetic circles for developing new hair colour design and promoting sales by statistically analyzing hair colours and the other factors(demographic characteristics, hair styling, total fashion feeling, hair style) of capital area women in their twenties based on the theoretical study on tatal fasion feeling & hair fashion feeling, and hair trend. The researching methods were composed of prior theoretical research, statistical analysis. The prior theoretical research was accomplished by analysis of literatures, magazines and internet sites about total & hair fashion feelings and hair trend. The statistical analysis used a questionnaire composed of 33 questions in 5 categories. The survey of the questionnaire had been conducted from June 15 to June 28 in 2005 on the 600 women in the capital area, investigated by a group of experts on cosmetics or clothing from academic or business society. The analysis of materials from the survey was done by SPSS program(ver. 12.0) using frequency analysis, $x^2$-test and cross tabulation analysis specified on high significant values. Based on the above results of $x^2$-test and cross tabulation analysis, categorized the characteristics of the hair fashion feeling groups, especially hair colours in the order of percentage. This study would be very helpful to the people trying to change their own hair fashion feeling and be useful to the cosmetic circles for developing new hair colour design and promoting sales by comprehending hair colour market and also be valuable to develop the analysis methodology of hair colour and hair fashion trend.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the influence of new service methods of "artificial intelligence (AI) + medical cosmetology", a new service means, on customers' purchase intentions. To AI medical beauty APP sales as an empirical study. This paper designed Likert seven scale to investigate, using SPSS 24.0 statistical analysis software and AMOS24.0 structural equation software to analyze the survey data. The analysis method uses reliability analysis, validity analysis, and construct equation model analysis. Through empirical research, the following results can be found, 1. The system quality of AI medical beauty app will have a positive impact on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. 2. The information quality of AI medical beauty app will have a positive impact on perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. 3. The service quality of AI medical beauty app will have a positive impact on perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness 4. Consumers' perceived ease of use has a positive impact on perceived usefulness and purchase intention. 5. The usefulness of consumers' notification has a positive effect on purchase intention.

  • This study aims to identify the relationship among self-esteem, major satisfaction, appearance satisfaction, and employment stress of college students and to suggest suggestions for this. The subjects of this study were students in B metropolitan city, and data analysis was conducted using SPSS WIN/22.0 program. The result of the study showed that the difference in employment stress according to general characteristics was significant in grade (f=4.25, P=0.01), religion (t=0.70), department and department (F=7.50, P=.0001), personality (F=6.406, P=0.001), university life satisfaction (f=8.09, P=0.001), and average score (f=5.37, P=0.005). The employment stress of the subjects was negatively correlated with self-esteem(r=-.439, p<.001), major satisfaction(r=-.377, p<.001), and appearance satisfaction(r=-.273, p<.001).Based on the results of the study, it is necessary to develop an integrated program to improve self-esteem, major satisfaction, and appearance satisfaction in order to reduce the employment stress of college students, and repetitive studies are required to explore various factors.

Effects of Hair Style on Human Physiological Response in a Thermal Neutral Environment (쾌적 환경에서 헤어스타일 유형이 인체 생리 반응에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently, research on variables associated with hair styles are increasing with the spreading of total coordinated intention in the fields of clothing and cosmetology. In the present study, we focused on examining the skin temperature on the scalp(the vertex, temporal, and occiput), humidity on the occiput, skin temperatures (the forehead, back of ear, back of neck, upper back, abdomen, forearm, hand, thigh, calf, and foot), rectal temperature, total body mass loss by hair styles in a thermal neutral environment. Four young females participated as subjects. For a certain period, each subject had the five different hair styles in a random order: (1)Straight short hair(SS), (2)Perm waved short hair(PS), (3) Straight long hair(SL), (4)Perm waved long hair(PL), (5)Ponytail style(PT). Subjects wore briefs, bra, shirts with long sleeves, long legged training pants, and socks. The environmental variables of a climatic chamber were kept constant at $21{\pm}0.5^{\circ}C$ of air temperature and 55${\pm}$5%RH of air humidity. The results indicated the following: The skin temperature and humidity on the scalp did not show any significant differences among five different hair styles, but straight long hair style(SL)was the highest on the vertex, temporal, and occiput. The temporal skin temperature($29.8\sim30.8^{\circ}C$) was the highest, while the vertex skin temperature($28.7\sim30.1^{\circ}C$) was the lowest. Humidity on the occiput was the highest in the perm waved long hair style(PL). The back of ear skin temperature was significantly lower in the ponytail style(PT) than in the other four hair styles(p<.001). In the straight long hair style(SL), the skin temperature on the back of the neck and on the upper back were significantly higher than those of the other four hair styles(p<.01). Mean skin temperature and rectal temperature had no significant differences among hair styles. Total body mass was the highest in the perm waved long hair style(PL)(p<.05). We acquired fundamental data to enable the improvement of the current hair clinic system, wigs, functional hats, and helmets.

Effects of Educational Program of Manual Lymph Massage on the Arm Functioning and the Quality of Life in Breast Cancer Patients (림프마사지 교육프로그램이 유방절제술환자의 상지 기능상태와 삶의 질에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of EPMLM(educational program of manual lymph massage) on the arm functioning and QOL(quality of life) in breast cancer patients with lymphedema. Method: Subjects in the experimental group(n=20) participated in EPMLM for 6 weeks from June to July, 2005. The EPMLM consisted of training of lymph massage for 2 weeks and encourage and support of self-care using lymph massage for 4 weeks. The arm functioning assessed at pre-treatment, 2weeks, and 6weeks using Arm functioning questionnaire. The QOL assessed at pre-treatment and 6 weeks using SF-36. The outcome data of experimental group was compared with control group(n=20). The collected data was analyzed by using SPSS 10.0 statistical program. Result: The arm functioning of experimental group was increased from 2 weeks after(W=.224, p=.011) and statistically differenced with control group at 2 weeks(Z=-2.241, p=.024) and 6 weeks(Z=-2.453, p=.013). Physical function of QOL domain increased in experimental group(Z=-1.162, p=.050), also statistically differenced with control group(Z=-2.182, p= .030) at 6weeks. Conclusion: The results suggest that the educational program of manual lymph massage can improve arm functioning and physical function of QOL domain in breast cancer patients with lymphedema.

Comparison of Cleansing Regimes for Efficacy and Comfort of Iontophoretic Transdermal Lidocaine Delivery (세정방법에 따른 국소마취제 이온도입의 효율과 편안감 비교)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determined that the efficacy and comfort of iontophoretic transdermal delivery of lidocaine by comparison of local anesthetic duration, sensory threshold, pain threshold and pain tolerance levels according to four different cleansing regimes. Methods: Forty healthy volunteers were randomly assigned to four groups; oil cleansing group, lotion cleansing group, solution cleansing group and alcohol cleansing group. All subjects were received lidocaine iontophoresis on the forearm using direct current with 4 mA for 10 minutes. All subjects were measured the duration of local anesthesia after lidocaine iontophoresis, also evaluated the sensory threshold, pain threshold and pain tolerance level during iontophoresis. For comparisons of the efficacy and the sensory characteristics of iontophoresis within the groups, an one-way ANOVA was used. Results: The duration of local anesthesia were found significant difference between groups (p<0.001). The anesthetic duration in solution and alcohol cleansing groups were significantly longer than oil and lotion cleansing group by post hoc (p<0.05). Statistically significant difference were noted in respect to all sensory characteristics such as sensory threshold, pain threshold and pain tolerance between groups (p<0.001). The sensory threshold in solution and alcohol cleansing group were significantly lower than oil and lotion cleansing group by post hoc using Duncan multiple range test (p<0.05). The pain threshold and pain tolerance in solution and alcohol cleansing group were significantly higher than oil and lotion cleansing group by post hoc (p<0.05). Conclusion: These results demonstrated that cleansing regimes have affected the efficacy and discomfort of iontophoretic transdermal delivery of lidocaine. These findings indicate that cleansing agents without oil ingredient contributed to more comfort, and more successful achievement of the iontophoretic transdermal delivery.
